I can copy my goals to cobble races like Vlaanderen. Top 10 is well done..Tactic is protect the leader has long as possible..then just hang on as long as possible. Awoid following aces atack..
Lest follow what was happening between favorites...Ballan is first who atacks (42km. to go)..Flecha, Devolder and van Summeren follows.
Leukemans comes at behind and takes a lead..Devolder and van Summeren follows. Ballan and Flecha has returned to group...
all comes bac together..pause..and here we go again Flecha, Ballan, Cancellara and van Summeren one more time.
Cancellara getting away..van Summeren is one..who dont give up that easy..amazing ride.
Four riders after Cancellara who has already solid lead..Hoste first time in action.
Devolder is first who catches Cancellara...
...then Ballan..
Flecha is coming..at the same moment sprint starts..and Flecha cant follow anymore
Cancellara opens and finishes sprint..
Liquigas having own battle..Quinziato just looses at the line..11th. ..close to goal.
Bennati surprises me..real strong ride.

Stage 3
Castel San Pietro - Faenza
Lets forget that TTT disaster..there is still queen stage to run..but today beongs to sprinters.
Liquigas managed to get Vanotti to the breakaway group ..with Impey and Frank Vandenbroucke. Mountain jersey is a goal.
Chavanel launched a short atack..at the hill top. Nothing serious he comes back..little warm up.
Final sprint check point..breakaway is still out there and Vanotti collecting points..Impey takes a max.
..group back together. Final sprint...Liquigas hope Claudio Corioni..is way to far at the top..this is aint gonna work out.
Silence_Lotto controlling the sprint..they take first last corner . Paolini is in perfect position..and waiting.
Paolini opens..Ventoso and Petacchi going after him..
No time to celebrate..Paolini holds a lead and takes stage win..tomorrow is tour most important day..queen mountain stage. Pelizzoti is almost forced to atack there..to get descent result.

Stage 5
Scandiano - Serramazzoni
Today is the day..Pellizotti can but out today everything he got...
Froome and Axelsson are breakaway raiders today..at the moment they started to climb last hill..peloton is coming. Vanotti was trying to keep up with them..but no chanche they are to fast today.
Milram and Rabobank has started to chase..Pelizotti is near at the peak..and ready to atack..
But wow..tour leader Ronny Scholz showing us great fighting spirit..he is first man who atack..this is to hard dask for him..no chanche.
Has Pellizotti promised at the morning..he wont wait anymore atack..Palumbo, Chavanel follows.
Liquigas leader leading the race..when Aussie champ. Evans comes at behind..4 km. to go.
Evans is trying to sneak away before the sprint..Pellizotti is there, Eros Capecchi, Chavanel, Simoni.
Pellizotti had something left..he launches another atack..when we have 1,5 km. to go.
..and he takes season first stage win. Great one..this was good solution to give him chanche and race without Basso. Good for morale.
When we look GC..2nd. after Chavanel..this seems to be my fate in March..always 2nd.
Tomorrow final sprnt stage.
Two news about Bennati...he has crashed in the training. Not something hugh..but sometimes out of the race.
I was looking Giro profiles..this will be hard to win sprint jersey (sponsors goal there)..so many mountain-hill stages..(first time in PCM history I like to have more Giro flat sprint stages)..

Chavanel has only 19 seconds left in the GC.
That's really unlucky. |

Final stage
Carpi - Finale Emilia
Chavanel can consider himself has tour winner..parade stage for sprinters. Corioni is most important man in Liquigas squad.
..ready for sprint..Corioni find a place behind Takashi Miyazawa..and waiting.
..sprnt..Corioni having season best mass sprint..oportunity to take first stage win. Open road ahead..But super strong Paolini is there..also Mattia Gavazzi, Jurgen Roelandts and Davide Viganò.
There go's Paolini..this Acqua & Sapone rider is in hyper form. Corioni keep pushing..still good result to take.
..and Paolini get 2 nd. stage win..Corioni 3rd...well done.

Stage 1
Vouziers - Charleville
Kreuziger is team captain and Murilo Fischer (perfect season so far..Liquigas most stable sprinter).
Right away to action..Knees and Efimkin trying to get away...
Next duo..trying to follow..Landaluze, Pauriol..peloton comes back..
Final atempt...Knees again , this time Kreuziger follows ...
Knees has given up..Kreuziger finds himself all alone at the front. Why no to try keep away...
no chanche for that...peloton is back together..and sprint. Now it's Fischer time.
Last corner..Servais Knaven, Albasini, Fischer, Feillu.
Albasini has giving up..Fischer at the front..to early..but what to do..all out now.
Feillu passes him..
..and he takes stage 1. win..Fischer 2nd. good start for the tour..all ahead ..TT..mountain stage..but I cant stop talking about:how happy I am to have sprinter like Fischer..there is never problems with him. Taking max on every race. He has announced that this is he's last season...he is first man at the Liquigas squad who has TdF ticket already.

52.
Ballan has a puncture..in early stage he can easily get back..
Crashes..Klier was down with Meersman..
..and atack..this should be in quide book..cobble classics and Hoste, Cancellara, Devolder, Ballan.
Pipo and Nuyens going after him..to many atacks..to get best result for Quinziato and Franzoi. Franzoi trying to counter and Quinziato staying at he group..
Ballan getting away..
Devolder and Cancellara has started chase..Hoste in difficulty..
..Ballan holding on and takes win..(again where the hell is Boonen..who has just dissapeared after Milano- Sanremo win).
About Liquigas riders..Franzoi and Quinziato are ok form at the moment..top 10 result is good perfomance in cobble races for us..today just to many atacks destroyed team plans.

Stage 2
Les Vieilles Forges
Short 100km. stage ...before final short TT. If you giving to much time today..there is no chanche to take tomorrow much back
It been very nerveous stage..atack..after atack (like any short stage in PCM)..peloton speed is real fast all the time. Kreuziger like this situation..now just atack at the right time..first serious atackers Efimkin, Joly and Uran..
Joly is getting away alone..this is dangerous to let this guy away alone (he is quite good TT rider also).
Uran, Velits, tour leader Feillu and Kirchen...going after Joly.
There go' s Kreuziger..he has problem to cach his target Kirchen..
Final km. Joly still fast enough..Efimkin and Velits trying desperately close that small gap what is left...Kreuziger fighting at the same hill..to loose as min. time has possible..
Joly takes stage win...and damn Kreuziger is first who wont get same time with lead group. Sometimes it is about seconds..Kreuziger atacked today just few seconds to late (he was fastest in the final km.)This is hard to get much higher at the GC tomorrow.Good TT ride will be good for he's morale.
