Sinkewitz was not so doped
Eh?
Just been using EPO and having blood transfusions since 2003.

Still, I suppose 2003 was around the time Vino started to make it big too. Wonder if there's any connection?

Bloody shame really. I don't understand why they announce it so early. There is plenty of time to find a sponsor... |

Didn't said Armstrong that he will take part in it. Only because of that they could find some good sponsors

Belgian cyclo-cross star Niels Albert, 22, spoke about doping and the difficulty of winning the Tour de France to Flemish magazine Humo. He said he believed it was not possible to win the Tour de France without doping.
"To win the Tour you must use the right products," said Albert, who rides for Palmans Cras, in a quote as translated by the AFP.
"During the Tour, you roll for three weeks at 42km/h average speed with sometimes three or four passes. Is that human? The organizers want the cleanest race possible, but look at the 2009 edition's race profile! I do not think we can win a Grand Tour without the use of prohibited substances."
Albert highlighted an important difference between road racing and his favorite discipline of 'cross racing. "In our discipline, we go for one hour and then it's over," he said, although he acknowledged that the shorter duration didn't guarantee that cyclo-cross was completely clean.
Rather 'questionable' remark. |

My opinion is simple: It's innocence like that , that is, not destroying the sport, but severely retarding the cleanup.
People who, like you, think someone can win the Tour clean, have no idea how tremendously enormous the effect of the drugs is.
Don't take this personally or anything, it's just a general comment on mentalities of fans and the general human propensity to believe the best case scenario
Simply, every time there's been a major scandal the majority of the public have become convinced: "now it's clean after this last scandal. definitely. because NOW finally something is really being done against doping"
And not much later we always end up with clear evidence that that is not the case at all. But then people think "NOW is finally when things have changed".
And people will think that again....and again....and again.....and the cycle will repeat infinitely. Fact is, it changed, but very little does really change.

after this past couple of years my experience tells me that to expect an absolutely clean peloton is very naive...but i don´t think you clearly understand my point issoisso...
i just think that if every rider believes that to win TDF you have to consume dope then obviously we will have positive tests and this cycle will never end because there is ppl like you've said that now it's clean after this last scandal. definitely. because NOW finally something is really being done against doping
my perspective is that you must have your own opinion and not be influenced by dealers like stevic... you have to stay loyal to the idea of a clean cycling and in order to achieve that the first thing you have to do is to maintain yourself clean!

The cycle will never end because the riders know for a fact that being completely clean they will never win one single major race unless they are a generational talent.
There are two reasons for this:
1. The effect of the drugs is immense. It's the difference between being 25th in the Tour and winning it.
2. Most drugs in general use are undetectable. You can take as much as you like of the likes of HGH, autologous transfusions, most types of EPO, etc, since they are literally undetectable no matter the quantity you take.

well then from your perspective the only indecision you get to feel when watching some mountain stage in an big stage race competition is who's on dope and who isn't... don´t get me wrong i think you're probably right but if you dont belive and you dont struggle against this wave how can we have cycling back?? my guess is never...
just one thing issoisso... how many of the riders of ...lets say... tour de france you would say are on dope??
