AaB - Deportivo.
I feel sorry for those Spanish players, running around in Denmark's very, very cold climate |

Man, my mind is really on vacation. Two weeks of doing nothing and I can't seem to think straight anymore: I spent 1min looking at CT's post wondering "Hey, aren't the 1/8 finals only next week?" before I realised what he was talking about.
For my mental sanity's sake, please use this thread

sorry, p3ruh, I just didn't want to bring up a thread from 2007
So, let's stick to this one until someone makes a UEFA Cup thread for the 08/09 season
AaB is ahead with 1-0! |

Indeed impressive... Som surprising results so far... Hopefully FCK can do the same thing tomorrow against City, I doubt it, but a 1-0 victory would be amazing. |

I never realised AaB even had it in them to pull off a result like this! It has to be said though, Deportivo aren't quite the team I remember growing up when they had Tristan, Juanfran and Aira all at their peak. |

Indeed Stuart, but Deportivo has lost quite big away and won even bigger at home before... Can't seem to remember 1-4 and 4-0 over AC Milan... |

I doubt a team that have scored 23 goals in 27 matches is gonna pull of a 4 goal victory, even though they are at home. Now I just hope we will meet city in the next round

Why? If you're a Dane, you got to support the Danish teams |

to be fair, Man City suck balls away from home. They're very dangerous at home, though.
And after dominating AC Milan at the San Siro and giving a funny and deserved verbal whipping to Harry Redknapp, Jesus continues his streak of miracles by completely outclassing a Standard side who has some very good players, including Witsel and Defour.
Jesus may be an asshole...but I friggin love the man

I hate people who say that if you are from a country you should support a team from that country in European competitions even if it's not your team. It's complete shit. |

If you're from a very small country like Denmark - a country which usually doesn't produce any good results - it makes more sense than e.g. being from England where you're disappointed if a British team doesn't go and win the Champion's League. |

Because AaB will make more money out of meating City, than meating FCK. And in football money is everything
G_Larsson: After yesterday, every newspapers in Denmark, are praising him to the skies, and the players in AaB are all very happy for him.

That makes a lot of sense. A part from Liverpool I only really seem to support English teams playing in Europe which have a lot of English players, like Aston Villa, who I have a lot of admiration for simply for that reason. It doesn't really make sense otherwise. |

How can we make more money by meeting Man. City instead of FCK?
AaB-FCK would be totally sold out before the match day, while the UEFA Cup itself doesn't seem to satisfy the people from Aalborg.
There weren't even 8000 spectators at AaB-Deportivo, why would it be better against Man. City?
(AaB's stadium has a capacity of 10,500 at international mathces)

We don't know a lot abut him so far, but he seems very focused. Another thing I like about coaches, is when they are very active during a game, and I don't think Magnus Pehrsson sat down for 5 minutes straight in AaB-Deportivo. He was out shouting and commanding with the players. I like that.

In terms of tv money, a foreign team will give a lot more than a Danish team. |
