plus compensation to their team

We need is the idiots who supply the dope and pretend not to know anything about it to be punished and banned, not compensated!

Whoops - forgot how stupid that is (what i wrote). OK. If someone on their team dopes, then they have to clean 100 bikes that have been given to needy children with their tongues. Then they;d think twice about lying again Wink

Sella tells CONI he used EPO
By Agence France Presse
Posted Aug. 8, 2008

Italian cyclist Emanuele Sella has admitted taking the banned blood booster EPO.

After a hearing before the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) on Friday in Rome, in which he and compatriot Marta Bastianelli were banned from all competitions, Sella issued a statement in which he admitted having had access “to an unauthorized drug” and “clarified the context” in which he had received it.

"I have got a weight off my shoulders. I'm conscious of what I did and as a result I decided to cooperate," Sella told Gazzetta dello Sport after the hearing.

Sella tested positive for EPO (erythropoietin) in an out-of-competition check last month following three stage wins at May's Giro d’Italia. He placed sixth in the overall standings.

rotfl. Of course he said everything because his lawyer probably told him to do so. So he'll get a discount on the months and come back to race soon. And that's what sucks.

until now, admitting guilt has had zero effect on the penalties CONI has dished out. Let's hope it stays that way

What? Not at all. I live in Italy and I know it very well. In the case of Sella, the last report clearly says:
"Sella si dunque è dopato e da regolamento verra squalificato, 2 anni la pena canonica, 1 solo in caso di piena e totale collaborazione."
So, Sella doped and as the rules wants he'll be disqualified, 2 years for the standard penalty, only one in case of full and total collaboration.
That's what it says Grin. Don't worry that nobody would spit out a word if it wasn't convenient for them.

Can't see it being anybody significant.
It's Jimmy Casper. An Agritubel rider, what a surprise (<- I'm being saracstic).

Everyone so far confessed except Mazzoleni. they all got 2 years. so, again, to this day confessing has had no effect. I hope it doesn't this time and that the mother****** gets 2 years or at least can't find a team when he gets back, as seems to happen to everyone who rats out who supplied them.

Jimmy Casper

Wait, let me try:

- "OH MY GOD!"
no, wait, that was no good.

"OH MY GOD!!!"
naah, not believable

- "OH MY GOD"
nope, sorry, I can't convincingly fake surprise at Casper. you're on your own.

Now let's think. On the one hand, he rode for FDJ, Cofidis, and these last two years, Unibet and Agritubel.
And on the other hand, he experienced a sudden jump in performance last year and even more so this year. uhhhm.

To make it clear, I strongly doubt there's any organised doping among French teams, at least not organised by the team.
Now, there can be individual cases at Cofidis, Bouygues or FdJeux. "Somebody" told us already last year that an insider at Cofidis had told him four riders were still using stuff. One left the team last season, another got caught during the TDF, a third one will move to Rabobank next season, and I have no idea about his fellow compatriot.
At AG2R, almost all the leaders are most likely on dope too, Dessel, Gadret have been known for that. Calzati too I reckon. There there are guys like Moreau, Naïbo, etc. who were there too, and are almost certainly some more dopeheads.
Agritubel can be seen as a little AG2R. "Dope at your own risks" teams (like Cofidis pre-2004)... Casper is anything but a surprise. I could name a couple of other riders from those teams that I wouldn't be surprised either if they got caught.

1. Who's the "somebody"?
2. Nuyens came from Quickstep, how obvious could it be?
3. Gadret's reputation precedes him and you forgot Goubert

"Somebody" is the nephew/cousin of a French rider who recently extented his contract there and always rode there, the insider the rider.
2 and 3 are true.

Wouldn't like people to get into troubles because of me. Just imagine a journalist would read me Pfft

Oh well, let's take the risk : it's D*v*d M*nc**t**. The 4 guys he gave to his nephew are *v*n P*rr*, Christian Moreni (caught), N*ck N*y*ns and St*f Sch**rl*nckx.

Anyway, Casper has an AUT that expired just before the TDF. That doesn't change my opinion about the fact he's a cheater though...
There's something that changed this season with French riders, there's a much bigger use of corticoids with AUT. Strangely enough French riders are getting better results while they're less picky about irrealist performances by foreign riders (obvious dopeheads). I mean Pineau always picked at such riders, and now he's happy every single time Valverde wins something... Seeing him and Chavanel signing for QuickStep next season shows French riders are not that different from foreign ones any more (either this means foreign riders have gotten cleaner too, either this means French riders started using dope again, I don't know, probably somewhere between both these options).
