Kurth joins what's starting to look like a cobblers retirement home as he joins Lagab to spear-head Equinor in that terrain. Not actually as bad as it sounds, but definitely a short-term one-year only solution. At least it's not another puncheur!

I can't be the only one disappointed Sutty didn't take Owain Doull after he got 10th in a C1 stage race without a breakaway last year on an amateur contract for me.
Emil should be a decent leadout, hopefully he does enough to finish his development next year and become a stronger leadout rider.

Happy with the draft. Didn't get Guillen, but got a boom-or-bust guy in Awang, as the only non c2hc sprinting race we picked was Baltic Chain Tour, so having a more 'reliable' sprinter wasn't fun enough. And Le Bon is what I needed, was simply looking to get an 75MO guy with good backups and he was(probably) the best one out of the bunch. Benat will appreciate a little bit more help

Another rider last seen in Kraftwerk colours is Roman Maikin. His starring moment surely came in 2017, the latter part of a 1-2 with Mark Cavendish at the Dutch Food Valley Classic. McCormick Pro Cycling would like to see more of that.

Emil must have been expecting Volvo to swoop in for his signature during the transfer season with his potential to be a solid lead-out for compatriot and training buddy Ahlstrand. He gets a reprieve from the scrap heap with a contract from Eddie Stobart - just a shame there is no potential for a PT loan out to complete his development cycle this season - a pick-up who if he has a decent season might merit a paid full-time contract next season? Only time will tell.

Nice to see Dylan Sunderland being picked up. Obviously not a world beater in the making, but deserves a spot in the CT, imo. Level him up, Jak

Armanto Archimandritis came to cycling late and got straight into the PT with Festina - Dexia, and completed the Tour de France. This did not allow him to race his home Tour of Cyprus, however. We'll have to see if that's a race in Bianchi – Campagnolo's calendar this season.
Four riders left to be drafted. Are there any riders you are surprised to not yet have seen? |

This really has been a sprinter heavy draft so far, Maikin adds to that, at least he has a few more years until he starts to decline unlike a few of the others taken before him.

Very happy to get our top two guys, having played with the planner some with them in the squad, Christian Egidio uses his full 72 racedays and Uri Martins Sandoval uses all 81 of his racedays. Versatility the key for both guys with a solid TT to help in the seemingly absurd amount of TTT races I have to deal with this season (seriously think I have more TTTs this season than my last 3 seasons combined).

Maikin has had a pretty impressive couple of seasons as part of Cav's lead-out train, and is understood to be aggrieved not to received a contract extension at Kraftwerk as reward for his efforts.
McCormick Pro Cycling obviously took note and thought he could do a similar job for there super-star sprint signing Dan Holloway. Holloway is believed to be very relieved given the lack of support picked up for him in the main transfer season to have some experienced help on board.
Roman may not be Maikin any money this season, but at least he gets another shot at the big time. Rumours that he had hoped to be ignored in the CT draft in order to set off a bidding war for his services and hence a big pay day in the Amateur ranks have yet to be confirmed or denied.

And Geremie Nzeke not getting a full contract is a shame, exceptional rider and terrific support in the hills. One of the very few non-americas riders to have been part of this team while on loan last year. Will be tough to have to ride against him this year.

Onur Balkan is a Turkish rider with potential. OMV Petrom – Albania.al are going to give him the chance to grow. |

Issiaka Cisse has finished Top 20 in a few HC classics in the past, Berlin Pro Race and Down Under Classic included. He led out Kennaugh for Orange, could he lead out Guillen at Centovalli – Fiat? CT may also be his level for some more individual results. |

I knew this was coming....stupid to not put more time into my list, and realising that I left him at fourth instead of moving him down like I meant to :/ |

Balkan should be a good rider in the future, hopefully he can develop as much as possible this season and really take the chance given to him.
I've not maxed him yet so don't know which route would be best for him but at a glance he looks too good a prospect to still be available this late.

James Curry was statistically the worst rider to be drafted last season. And despite leveling up under Eddie Stobart, he is now statistically the worst rider to be drafted this season. Glanbia Foods Cycling Project have the dubious honour this time. |

Balkan, B, B, B, Balkan! No escape from!
He's gonna be a very nice leadout when he eventually is maxed
