Decent finish for GB, very nice to see! Smile Hopefully he can hold on to the Top10.

I also love the layout of your results!

Thanks. I worked quite a bit on the format at the start. Good to see it's appreciated Smile

As for the race, 3 riders in 11 seconds. It won't be easy to keep that top 10 spot.

Vuelta a Espana: Stage 20

Plenty of climbing on today's route but with so many tired legs in the pack we did not see the fireworks some might have expected. Buchmann and Lopez who seemed to be in great shape this final week were once again on the attack, but their moves failed to materialize. The Colombian will definitely be disappointed by not being able to shake Froome off his wheel in his last chance to do so

i.imgur.com/W1llLCt.png

Another one of this third week of racing performers, Ben O'Connor managed not only to successfully defend his polka dots jersey, but get a stage win to his name as well as he was the only survivor of the day's massive breakaway. Grand Tour of his career so far for the Australian

i.imgur.com/D5DnYnc.png

Bennett didn't have one of his best days today and was not able to stay with the main group today. As his closest rival, Rigoberto Uran, managed to stay with the likes of Lopez and Froome, it meant that the Jumbo rider would have lost his place in the top 10

The Jumbo train was at the front of the pack ready to launch Danny Van Poppel, but once again the Dutch Champion failed to complete the perfect work done by his team - mates with a stage win. It was UAE's Fernando Gaviria who crossed the line in first place (with some help from the Shimano cars)

i.imgur.com/85g2fHB.png

It was not a traditional final Grand Tour stage with the pack shattered into many groups in the last kilometers of the stage! George Bennett was best place from the GC riders and won time on everyone else, but it was not enough to move him back in the top 10, despite having the same time as Geraint Thomas!

i.imgur.com/hIMqgZg.png

Froome and Lopez finished together so no drama in the red jersey battle as Chris Froome achieves a fantastic Tour-Vuelta double. We didn't see much of him this season but he definitely delivered when it mattered the most: in the Grand Tours.

Every time I read this title, I get this song stuck in my head Grin

Unfortunate that George Bennett missed out on the Top 10 so narrowly. I'm going to have to go back to do some reading, I think I missed this story previously.

A Belgian quartet of Wellens, Teuns, Meurisse and Lambrecht tried to take the others by surprised after the last climb of the route and even though their move stretched the pack quite a bit, it was not a decisive one.

Everything went down in a sprint where it was Quebec's performer, Xandro Meurisse who proved to be the fastest. A fantastic weekend for the Wanty rider as he claims the victory in both Canadian races.

OVO Energy Tour of Britain
[img-r]https://i.imgur.com/PyzIGEK.png[/img-r]

It was the race of Alan Banaszek's life in Britain as the Pole managed to win four of the race's 7 stages. All of his victories came down in mass sprints, only missing out on two occasions, in the stages won by Edward Planckaert and Alexander Kamp.

Everybody expected the race to be decided in fifth stage's time - trial. In a way it was decided as that stage shaped most of the GC, but not in terms of first place. Even though Filippo Ganna won the stage, he was not able to clench the overall win as well, as his team - mate, Kwiatkowski did very well to get some bonus seconds in several of the flat stages, which placed him at the very top of the rankings.

Three other World Tour teams were present here, Trek, Bora and CCC. But neither seemed as interested as Jumbo were, who dominated the race claiming all the stage wins. Danny Van Poppel won all the mass sprints as well as the GC, while Tolhoek was first across the finish line in the only hilly rated stage of the race.

World Championships - Time trial
[img-r]https://i.imgur.com/kuyV4tZ.png[/img-r]
i.imgur.com/xu3n725.png

A rather interesting profile for this year's World Championships time - trial race as we climb up the Mount Ventoux. The pure climbers will definitely have the upper hand against the usual suspects in a race against the clock.

Geraint Thomas managed to finish in the top 10 at the Vuelta, while helping Froome win the race for the second time in his career. Today he had no one to work for but himself, just like at the Giro where he finished on the podium. Thomas smashed all the intermediate check points to take the leader's seat as he finished the race

i.imgur.com/Dvs8Ms2.png

With 3 Grand Tours under his belt this year, the fatigue really felt in Dumoulin's legs today as even though he was easily one of the favorites before the race, he failed to reach the podium

i.imgur.com/Ky2A7R4.png

Froome was the last man on the road today and he would have loved to add a rainbow jersey to his Tour-Vuelta double. But only a third place will have to do today behind his compatriot and team-mate, Geraint Thomas and a surprising Marc Soler, who takes second place today.

World Championships - Road race

i.imgur.com/3qbmigo.png

A group of five riders broke free on the last climb of the day consisting of Cort Nielsen, Mollema, Schachmann, Kwiatkowski and Alaphilippe. But with only the first two willing to cooperate, the move was neutralized in the flat section leading to the finish line.

i.imgur.com/GfhGLlJ.png

Dumoulin and Tolhoek were leading the pack as we were approaching the finish line, but with neither of them being too good in a sprint it was clear they would be hoping for a podium at the very best. Schachmann and Valverde were right behind them, ready to profit from their work

i.imgur.com/mxrddN7.png

And while Valverde didn't have anything left in the tank, Schachmann did and and showed some great power in his legs as he sprinted to take the World title in front of Magnus Cort Nielsen and Edvald Boasson Hagen

Five riders went clear on the last climb of the day: Poels, Kuss, Alaphilippe, Fuglsang and the fresh World Champion, Max Schachmann

i.imgur.com/wMohl1R.png

The cooperation was not there though and as soon as Kuss realized he was the only one working, he stopped doing so, allowing another 3 riders to join the group: Mollema, Kwiatkowski and Gasparotto. The Italian even tried a surprise attack right after the junction

i.imgur.com/izXNzry.png

It seemed to work at first but he did not have enough energy left in his legs to hang in front of the speed of his much younger rivals and he would be caught dramatically in the last hundreds of meters.

It was Alaphilippe who took the win in a very close finish with Schachmann, Kwiatkowski and Mollema. This should make up in a way for the Frechman's rather disappointing season

Canola, Santaromita and Hirt tried to make a break of it after the last climb of the day, but with both Van Poppel and Roosen still in the main group, there was no way Jumbo was letting them go. Thanks to a fantastic work from Sep Kuss the move was neutralized and we headed to a sprint with a group of about 30 riders.

Roosen looked very strong as he lead out Van Poppel, but there was no time for Danny to gift him the stage win as the finale was very close, with Canola still having a lot left in his tank after the earlier attack. Still, the Jumbo riders were the first two across the finish line, with the Dutch Champion taking the win.
