-keep the installed programs to a minimum. if you don't need a program anymore, remove it. try to install as few programs as possible on your c drive
-keep as much off your C:/ drive free as possible.
-don't make your partitions to big : a partition of 150bg is way to big
-clean up your junk files regular
-install always the latests drivers and updates.
-change priorities ( !caution read mroe about this before using it)
-disable unnecessary processes (!caution idem) like you don't need an anti-virus while playing pcm
-disable several grapihical windows options while playing (!caution)
-use 3d analyser
-clean your register...
-use optimizers ( though don't let them run while playing)
-if vista user: play it in compability mode windows xp, but don't use administrator
-install it on a small partition if possible ( don't make too much partitions though)
-learn to master your buses (!caution !caution) don't touch if you don't know what you doing
- use your optimal cluster size (!caution !caution ! caution)
-... ( i could keep on forever)
the stuff with caution: don't touch unless you know what your doing. and don't use internetguides. and take an back-up before using any of the things above
all these things make your computer go faster and lower the RAm-usage. ( and the grapihical usage)
thanx to even more stuff then mentioned above i can run pcm07 on max on a laptop with he following
1.73ghz dual core
2 gig DDR2 ram
218mb shared graphical cardB)
i study informatics and yet not a nerdB) i bet i can drink more then most of you guys

just for the record : the chipset isn't the cpu
chipset=
- memory controller hub
- hub-interface (bus)
-i/o controller hub
a shared graphical card uses parts of your RAM and as u need 1024 MB ram to play it good ( not minimum settings) you have still some ram left. but still i wouldn't advise it to play it on a notebook
btw a 2.6 Ghz dual core is one of the newer generation CPU( i think)
how old is your notebook
btw it needs 128 mb grapihical memory and no shaders ( isn't mentionned)
the shaders are the main drawback of a shared card

I am able to run the game on minimum... is this because windows vista sucks or my computer isn't able to run on any more than minimum? |

To Stjino you think 900mb can run it then? (at the minimum) CPU, GHZ and the graphic card is ok...

btw guys, it worked much better when I plugged in the cable and ran on high performance settings
didn't think of that, but I think having the powerplug out lowers the CPU and graphics performance.
BTW, anyone know why my microsoft wireless laptop optical mouse 4000's scroll wheel won't work in vista? I've googled all around but I cannot find any answer to why the scroll doesn't work. So if anybody here knows the answer, please tell me how to solve this problem! The scrolls works fine in XP and I've downloaded new drivers.... |

Just to be sure, try the demo Bongazi. You might have a nice surprise. If the demo runs well, the full game will too. (details will of course have to be set to the minimum)
Ok thx |

Does this make a notable difference?
I have been trying some of your other techniques, and was just wondering whether you actually found there to be a difference when running in compatibility mode.
It works perfectly fine on my laptop, I just want to see how far I can get the graphics

As we've told pretty much everyone with an Intel card: we don't know. It might run, it might not, we don't know exactly which Intel cards run it and which don't.
Wait for the demo and try it. If it runs, it'll be at minimum graphics.
