Evans is better on long TT normally .. But not in the dauphine libere ..
Well right now Valverde is better but I don't think he can keep his form for the entire tour .. I think he'll lose some time on the TT's |

Cunego will only improve in this tour, and then he will go on to win the tour de france
I have said it before and I'll say it again. Cunego is a classics rider not a Grand Tour rider, and mark my words, he will NEVER win the Tour de France. That's just my humble opinion.
To be honest i have to agree with you but i think frank schleck is in the same boat
I'm not disagreeing with you, but th general picture I have of Schleck and Cunego's performances in the mountains is that Schleck is a hint better in the biggest mountains. He is just a more pure grimpeur than Cunego. Overall Frank is better in the mountains than Cunego, TT wise they are about the same, but I think Frank has the potential to be better than Cunego here too. The big problem for both of them is inconsistency.
Frank was brilliant on the first mountain stage in last year's Tour de Suisse but then he totally vanished. He has brilliant days and bad days, nothing in between. Cunego is quite consistent in his performances, but these performances come up a hint too short of what the the real GC contenders can do.
I honestly don't think Frank can win the Tour de France, but he is a better stage racer than Cunego, while Cunego is better in the classics. But again, that's just my humble opinion.

Yep correct..For you has Cunego fan..I hope that Cunego dont peak to early..he looks great at the moment. But never knows..Evans and Valverde was both at the top in Dauphine..they will be also top at the TdF.
Like Suisse was Ullrich way..win that tour..get hungry and then to TdF |

I think so too. It was the same deal as Leipheimer in 2006, when he won the Dauphine. In the Tour de France he never got going.
Talking of Valverde, he is, in my opinion, in the same boat as Cunego. I don't think Valverde will ever win the Tour. He has proven to be a pretty good time trialist in the Dauphine, but in the 2006 Vuelta he also rode some very good time trials, ending in the top 3 on those if I remember correctly. That same year he showed that he doesn't have the consistency in the mountains, and that's even in the Vuelta where the competition is less stiff than in Le Tour. We all remember how he got his ass whooped last year in Le Tour and how horribly poor he was on the time trials. For me he will not win the Tour, not this year, not ever, because of two things. One, he hasn't proved he can do well on the 50 kilometres TTs and two, he doesn't have the consistency too keep up in the mountains over the course of three weeks.
I have a very selective bunch of riders that I think can win this year's Tour and yes there's a CSC riders among them.

Four years ago when he won The giro nobody said about Cunego that he's a classics ryder. Now you jump on to conclusions. They say this Cunego is that 2004 Cunego, and if you wanna decide it, just wait for the Tour de France. It's only his 3rd day of racing after the long break. You can't judge Cunego, Evans, Valverde and all this guys by this form. If you were, Lance wouldn't have won the tour 7 times in a row, Landis wouldn't been so good in 2006 Tour and so on.
And by the way, there's no way Frank Schleck is a better stage racer than Cunego. If there's a doubt about Cunego's statute, there isn't about Frank's. He is a Classic ryder. His brother, Andy, though, may be a better stage racer than Cunego. And just to remind you, 2004 Cunego couldn't TT, this one does, and it does pretty well. In the Vuelta a Pais Vasco TT, on the second section of the race, which was a flat one, gained time on Thomas Dekker, coming in third place just before the third section. |

It is but somehow I just feel it's fantastic to win all 3 GT.. But TdF is the hardest race to win due to the competition.. If you look at the stages and the route Giro d'Italia is the hardest race to ride.. |
