That stage is a known problem with the 2008 db. It's just a 1-stage thing. |

Well lets see the results, also to say you have no TT specialists and Clement to come 2nd is a bit of a kick in the teeth to clement. Id suggest Markov hes a god time trialist, or even better when it comes to transfer time just get oscar pererio sio.
great story

I think you're confused... Clement rides for Bouygues, not AG2R...

Stage 3
Nevers - Belleville
Has we have lost yesterday stage..lets jump ro the 3rd. one..Tour leader at the moment is Silence Lotto rider de Greef..how this one happens? Today favorites are the sprinters..Gadret at least is realy motivated after 0 day..he cant rest..he need to be up there every day to get final top 3 result.
Silence Lotto with Euskaltel controlling a race...
,,,but when real need comes to cache breakaway group..spriners team like Quickstep,Mileam and Credit Agricole starts to work..
There is 35km. to go..many riders atack to take climbing points.Gadret looking all the faces..all favorites still waiting at the peloton..they probably leave this stage for sprinters,
Final climb..F.Schleck atack's this enough good reason for Gadret to follow that atack..
In the top of that climb he notice that he can go even faster..Schleck is left behind..this might actualy work
Downhill..here he comes..keep it together..35 sec. then Schleck then 30 sec. and peloton..this isnt over yet.
Gadret did it,,he is exausted. But he realy needed that stage win...first big season stage win..
Schleck isnt that lucky spriners caches him...he wonr get any time bonus. Gadret takes also leader jersey..no this one getting intresting.

Stage 4
Fleurie - Saint-Etienne
Kind of copy for yesterday stage...last climb. need to be ready for that, and protect leader jersey.
Schleck atacking after mountain points..this is strange CSC solution..but I dont know about he's condition.
Another CSC "news"...Sastre has fallen..main group is after breakaway group..this is gonna be hard to get back. No one at CSC doesnt come back to help Sastre..there is question now if Schleck is after climber jersey..and Sastre isnt team leader.Who is then. Good news for Sastre that Euskaltel rider Martinez has also down at the same crash..this might help the chase.
They chase down after 20km. fast speed...they probably dont have much left to fight also at the final climb.
Last climb..Devolder atacking..Casar..Vansummeren
When Pereiro and Menchov atacking..this is moment for Gadret to follow..
Gadret is off..Vandevelde trying to follow..not enough legs. I managed to get Gadret in good shape before Paris-Nice..now I can enjoy that,
Gadret has small advantage..and starts he's regular climb in decent speed. Peloton looks liitle confused ..there is not team who like to take control to start chase...and all this looks much better for Gadret.
At the hilltop he had 25sec. advantage...downhill and all the way to finish. At this moment Gadret decided to observe how peloton will react...and was ready to take it easy and fall back to the group. But now... Gadret well known good decender..he increases the lead. Ok let's go..after another stage win..max. speed.
Great ride..he has over minut a lead..Gadret is real downhill beast.
Valverde takes second.

People need to remember that Paris-Nice and Tirreno-Adriatico aren't pro-tour anymore. Because of that, I don't think the pro-tour teams try to peak for them at all. I was able to dominate Tirreno-Adriatico with George Hincapie for example.
Yet the big cobbled classics (Ronde Van Vlaanderen, Gent-Wevelgem, Paris-Robaix) were tough struggles even though George was in peak form and much more suited to the races.
Despite real life... Paris-Nice is like the Tour of California or Tour of Georgia in the 2008 DB... a secondary race for pro teams. |

Stage 1
Civitavecchia - Civitavecchia
Best option for Nocentini in that tour is to be part of any final sprint..and trying to take back some time gap in uphill sprints what he gonna lost in TT stage.
60km. to go..split. Many ace sprinters are left behind..
50 to go. and atack.. coble aces on fire. Flecha has started all this..Maaskant and Hoste atack.. This moment I was thinking that Elmiger should be also there.
Flecha is off..he is doing quite well on that uphill section. Good signs for Rabo that Flecha is ready for coble main classics.
Downhill..he can actualy make it. I didnt expect that kind of move at Tirreano first stage.
Final sprint..Nocentini going after O'Grady. Strong sprint trio coming at left side Bennati, Freire and Zabel. Flecha is near...but sprinters are probably a little to far.
Flecha holds...Nocentini cant get even close to pass O'Grady he has to fight all the way to keep he's 3rd. spot.
