that's a rather outlandish claim
what about 'pistol pete' sampras, becker, bjorg etc. etc. Actually numbers proof him right. If he wins Roland Garros he matches the record set by sampress of 14 grandslams (modern era) but he will also achieve a golden slam (second to do that after Agassi) with Samprass didn't do.
Anyway ... its difficult to compare different era's, when they barely ever played against eachother . |

of course pete and andre were fantastic tennis stars and i have a lot respect.
but look at roger look at the match against haas or against del potro yesterday how he played after he lost the first and third set.he is so strong.
and no one deserves it more than roger to take this golden slam.of course nadal is an fantastic player too, but he will never win so many grand slams as roger because he isn´t playing so elegantly,he needs a lot of power and now you can see that he has knee problems. |

Maybe Soderling will be able to beat the other big favourite, after what he did with Nadal...

After Nadal lost it was clear that Federer has probably the biggest chance in his carrer and he didn't miss it.
Though that I'm rather an Nadal fan that an Federer one, Federer was really deserving this win.

Hats off B) |

Why do you not like Söderling? |

Don't know why, everyone said Söderling was hateful, unbearable, but I found him really fair-play during the whole tournament, and never being arrogant or so...

I noticed the other week that he expressed pity/support for Richard Gasquet .. who failed a drugs test. https://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tenn...id=4215398
"He's a good friend of mine and I discussed this with him last week and he's most certainly not taking cocaine. You know what the world is like today. You go to a party ... if you kiss a girl who's taken cocaine, anything can happen. This can destroy your career and this is most unfair," |

Why do you not like Söderling? I never said i didn't like Soderling (althought i was cheering for Federer). But some things have happent in the past that didn't make him loved in the circuit (and outside).
The thing that happent with Nadal in 2007 was one, ... anyway i don't know enough about it to dislike or like him so ... |

Federer is the best player for me. Nadals powerplay doesn't change that. Pure technically, Federer rules.
I also think that when Federer gets back at his level from 2/3 years ago, he can beat Nadal (except on Garros). Because last 2 years, you have to be honoust, Federer wasn't as good as he used to be. |

Federer, it's a fantastic technic, the best reverse of the world when he's on form.
But it's also a question of mental. And the victory of Nadal in Wimbledon last year, plus his mononucleosis made things bad. I think that Federer's victory in Madrid changed things in the right way. |

15th Grand Slam for Federer!
What a final. I don't know where Roddick got that energy. After beat Hewitt and Murray in long games, he was able to stretch this final.
Both deserved to win.
