I don't know your feeling but even if it's a great win by Nibali it's maybe and we'll see later a big mistake. Yeah tomorrow and tuesday sprinter's team will control the race but some teammates of Nibali will ride at the front of the bunch and this energy can miss later in few weeks away. It should be better to let the jersey to Sagan and Cannondale but we cannot denied a yellow jersey. Wednesday after the cobblestones we will have a part of an answer ... |

It was Nibalis first TDF stage victory, so in my eyes he did everything right.
The next stages are flat and the fifth stage is cobbled, where I believe some cobbled specialists will attack to take the yellow. So there could be less work for the Astana team. They just need to hang on the favorites |

I doubt it will make Astana lose that much energy. Its Lotto and especially Giant Shimano's responsibility to catch the break, not Astana's. If i was the directeur, I wouldnt mind a break if I was Astana as Giant and Lotto more or less has their whole team build around those stages |

So here are a few photos I took at Menwith hill. Managed to catch Kittel, Voigt, Stage winner Nibali and a few others:
Turned out to be a great stage in the end, Nibali timed his attack well and deserved the win. Sagan will be disappointed though, he should have held some team-mates back for after the final climb. |

Waited 2 and a half hours to watch Le Tour flash by in Huddersfield, then proceeded to watch a Sheffield housing estate tear up Le Tour on a big screen. Sagan should have gone instead of waiting for bunch sprint- Nibali has forced GC teams to chase, and taken tomorrow from the sprinters.

Great stage considering it was stage 2. I remember in the past, on similar courses we wouldn't have seen this action. Great route for Great Britain and amazing crowds once again. Obviously a few instances of the crowds crowding the road, but overall a great turnout and glad to get a nice selection on the day.
Already hating the Sportsnet coverage for Canada. They are taking BeIn's coverage I think, which in itself is just some Aussie talking before the actual racing gets going, and then later Phil and Paul. There is no pre-show anymore, which is disappointing, since I had no idea Cavendish wasn't racing, and dont want to risk spoilers just to find that out on the internet. The "special videos" that play during the boring parts of the stage are annoying and not near the quality of Versus/NBCSN's either.

Always nice to be on a climb right at the end, with the field all spread out. Was great to see Contador really pushing hard past me, and a very nice finish to the stage after that, with a very well timed attack by Nibali.
My best photos came for some of the riders further down, but so far Ive just sorted the ones from the front of the race.

If you don't like the coverage in your country you can use Hola or Sports lemon, the ITV coverage is absolute terrible with commercials, it almost feels like they cut to adverts every 10-15min. |

Probably too late, as Alexander said this before today's stage, but anyways:
Kristoff: "After what Cavendish did yesterday, it's good he's out. He should have been disqualified anyway." SHOTS FIRED!

still laughing at Sagan.
You can laugh now, but Peter will laugh later.
Green jersey is the only goal that matters, i don think yellow jersey for Sagan would be something ideal to have in achieving that goal. Cannondale is pretty weak team, at least when the terrain starts to be lumpy and it is easy to outsmart overwhelmed sprint favourite. Sagan without teammates is no news.
You Stage1 remark about him being 2nd only thanks to the crash and labelling it as typical does is even not worth a comment...you better care about that stupid Manx prick riding for your favourite team.
Really interesting 2nd stage, it was a good move from the officials to set such a challenging route so early.

Danish article, so not sure about the information here. Some guy in the CN forum said that Rijs saved the guys yesterday. Also, Contador said that Roche & Rogers made it an easy day for him, just following his road captain.

These are my favourite photos from Stage 2. With only a few cyclists coming up at this stage, less people were leaning over the barriers, so I could use my longer zoom for once.
Featuring the great Yukiya Arashiro, and the grimacing Sylvain Chavanel not having much fun at all.

It's absolutely true though. He wouldnt be disqualified if he was staying in the race (mainly because he is Cav and it is en GB), so its just fair imo. |

Was a great stage, up on Holme Moss for this one, insane amount of people on it, apparently 70,000 on a climb of less than 5km. Superb atmosphere.
