No surprise. Modolo has been fantastic this season. I am suprised that Sagan beat Degenkolb ( didn't watch the stage so not sure how it panned out)
Sagan got a perfect leadout into the second to last corner (By the Giant leadout man lol) and got out of it at first position with Modolo on his wheel while Degenkolb was 5th, then Degenkolb worked his way up to 3rd but lost a few meters in the last corner when Modolo overtook Sagan.
Thanks.
Well, my friend will certainly be happy with this outcome

Thats one hell of a bet, especially considering Cav was so much faster then anyone else yesterday He had inside sources telling him that Van Poppel and Goss was going to take Cav out? |

Good job Cav seems okay
Indeed, it's an invitation for accidents to happen.
Sagan is no way near to be the best sprinter, but he's usually pretty consistent grabbing podiums. Plus, he can also win in hilly stages, where pure sprinters wouldn't. I bet any team would like to have him. |

Well, it's E/W, so pretty reasonable. Modolo is a good 3rd-5th bet even with all sprinters involved.
100£ at 16/1? That will be a happy day.

Oh E/W is a placement bet? I would say he's a good 2nd-4th bet in this field... in a normal sprint he can beat anyone but Cav. |

Not to be too judgemental but betting 100 pounds on a sprint here, that's just insane.
But he'll have a reason to celebrate today, though. |

Well he made over 10,000£ already over the cycling season, so 100 is just 1% of what he made - so basically a normal stake for him.
His reason for going with Cav and I qoute: '' Backing Modolo today. The sprint will be very messy,so right up his street.Remember Turkey,Cav not untouchable ''
A lot of people predicted that Cav would either crash or fail and well it paid off for many.

That'll teach him to back off
Glad it seems he's not too hurt (not wishing to tempt fate but he seems to bounce consistently rather than crunch) so we hopefully get to see the top 3 go head to head again at the Tour (though I imagine Kittel and Giant will be a cut above again).

Sagan only got 2nd because he managed to hang on in Modolo's slipstream and Degenkolb was 5 metres behind
Sure. Sagan is in fact very slow and he just keep on racking podium after podium in every race he enters by luck.
Degenkolb was not able to hang there, who is slow now.

Team Sky really dominating the peloton currently for Ben Swift, or so it appears. Outside chance they might be looking at something for Henao too.

Attack by Laurent Didier of Trek Factory Racing has sparked IAM Cycling coming to the front to increase the tempo for M.Frank. Just 14.5 kilometre remaining with the final climb still to come.

Looking good for Sagan. Are Degencolb/Swift still in the peleton? |

Last I saw Ben Swift was starting to pull faces, but was still there for Sky. While Pinot has poked his nose out near the front. Few riders sniffing a chance, with Matteo Trentin still with Tony Martin in the much reduced peloton.

Peter Sagan, along with some others, has had enough and has attacked. Kolobnev tried to follow the wheel.

On to the descent now with 11.2 kilometres remaining. Tony Martin right up near the front still.

Sagan clearly showing why someone here saying he deserves 74 in hill is having a laugh.
Too easy.

Sagan motoring down the descent with a small gap back to Tony Martin (leading the peloton), who is no slouch himself.
