like that will work. the penalty for McLaren equates to the fine and nothing else, really.
the Constructors championship is negligible.
and a McLaren driver will win the Drivers' which is what really matters.
as much as I can't stand Ferrari's attitude and illegal schemes, Massa is the moral winner this season.

i agree, i really have no idea what McClaren were thinking, when they stole them documents, that's just plain stupid, not to mention completley unsporting.
and yes Massa is the moral winner, if either Hamilton or Alonso win then the championship will always be tainted

there's no way they won't. which is a very bad thing right now...
anyway, let's just wait for this weekend and see who wins at THE track.
no driver can say he does not love this track. it is the ultimate test of driver skill.
hopefully we'll see an exciting race. and with Spa's "now it's sunny-now it's raining" micro-climate, who knows what can happen.

no it hasn't. it was supposed to be as slow as it is. they're counting on next year's car being able to "fight in midfield".
fat chance.
and given Spyker's attitude towards everything and everyone that isn't dutch or that won't get them money, I can only say:

Well, i didnt like the way they decided on the 2nd driver. Either have good riders like Winkelhoek, klien or bleekermolen (without any sponsorship money) or go for a japanese driver which has garenteed honda technoligy backing.

personally i don't get this whole McLaren and Ferrari fall out, i've followed it but it seems like crying over spilt milk kind of thing.
I bet other teams have been doing it, it's just the high profile teams.

Honda already has a second team. that's Aguri.
and with selling cars being allowed between teams starting next season, it'll be interesting.
basically since it means Prodrive will be running McLaren cars, Toro Rosso Red Bull cars, Aguri Honda cars, and Spyker will be out in the cold...
then again, Spyker are supposed to be sold (again) this week. so they won't last long. let's see what the team's name will be next season.
most likely, Campos Racing...

Danm, i liked spyker, if only they had better backing. And btw yamamoto was bought because he brought japanese technoligy with him. Just like Takuma sato going to British American Racing

not really.
Ferrari used Bridgestone tyres for years. they had the experience to know how to make them work.
this year all teams had to use Bridgestone tyres (Michelin retired). So there was no way McLaren could be a top team (look at Renault and the other former Michelin teams...), since they could in no way make a car designed for Michelins behave on Bridgestones.
yet, miraculously, they were right on par. very suspicious. and the illegal moving front wing that for some reason they weren't punished for, doesn't explain it all.

please don't get the impression that I'm defending Ferrari. if there's anyone who even comes close to the Renault team in underhandedness (is that a word?) and cheating, it's Ferrari.
but what McLaren did was way over the top.
although still far below the Renault team when they were named Benneton and Schumacher drove for them. but back then they had the protection of the FIA, since the FIA needed Schumacher to win so there would be a new hero, after the ratings dropped due to Senna's death.
anyway, I'm ranting.

the story takes an extra twist. and a pretty big one, I might add:
Ron Dennis and Fernando Alonso were arguing about Alonso's contract. apparently, Alonso isn't happy about not being undisputed no.1 driver and not getting better car, parts, engineers and mechanics than his teammate as he did at Renault.
He wants out. but he has a contract. so he threatened Dennis that if McLaren don't let him go, he'd reveal to the public "a few more information about the spy case that the public and the FIA don't know about". basically: blackmail.
Dennis' reaction was simple: he told the FIA what he'd just found out: that Alonso was involved and had more information.
so, turns out, the mistery man who tipped the FIA about McLaren and Alonso's involvement was none other than the man who practically owns McLaren....Ron Dennis himself.
quite the irony
as for Alonso's attitude, no surprises there. he's always been a a jackass and an ***hole who always did and will always continue to do ANYTHING to get his way. typical.

to hopefully finish this and get back to racing, a quote from the FIA's bulletin:
both Mr. Alonso and Mr. de la Rosa made written statements
to the WMSC verifying that these e-mails were sent and received and offering
context and explanations regarding the e-mails. The e-mails show unequivocally
that both Mr. Alonso and Mr. de la Rosa received confidential Ferrari information
via Coughlan; that both drivers knew that this information was confidential
Ferrari information and that both knew that the information was being received by
Coughlan from Stepney.

In case somebody doesn't know, McLaren got a $100million fine (largest ever in sport), and had their constructors points taken away - Alonso and Hamilton keep their individual points however

Pretty crazy end to session 1 of the qualifying. After the time was up, Sutil went 12th,Liuzzi 6th, Vettel 7th then half the grid got into the top 10 when they crossed the line and when it all ended Sutil was 20th, Vettel 17th and Liuzzi 16th!
Button and Coulthard made it through

I can't watch it
it's the best racetrack in the world and the one race that I WANT to watch...and I can't.
since I can't find a live feed, I'll now stay away from this thread until I can see it later in the day...
