Updated the results, as always to be found on page one. Having a quiet month ahead, i decided to post it here as kind of a mid-season report. Our latest rankings update saw Oz quite promising in the battle for promotion and below you will find the guys' results, which brought us into this position.. Most notable: Bobridge, Goss and Visconti plus Koren.. On the less bright side: Rogers, who didn't score a single stage-win, but at least defended his and Ford's title in Differdange.. Really happy with Del Nero as well. A nice piece added late in the transfers!

Luck? It's just the results of two years learning the ManGame the hard way But to be honest, luckily my leaders indeed avoided any serious disaster so far. This may change at one point, but Bobridge and Goss should still have something to give to Oz!
Thanks for the kind words on the HQ. Same here: two years of learning and still trying to improve next year

Team defends title in Monterrey after shocking start
Not an official win-goal prior to the season, but definitely a race that we were targeting: the Monterrey TTT, which Oz Cycling already won in it's inaugaral edition last season. And our team would be the clear favorite for this year's edition, too.
Our seven best TT-specialists Michael Rogers, Michael Ford, William Ford, Jack Bobridge, Kristjan Koren, Jack Anderson and Miles Olman had a shocking slow start into the 55km event though: trailing by more than 30 seconds on a surprisingly leading Bonsucro-squad at the first split, we noticed our director sportif in panic mode!
The team did well to play it's strength in the second half of the day though: coming closer to a then leading Kazzinc-squad, our guys eventually rode to a comfortable 14-seconds-gap at the finish, defending last year's victory and looking forward to a third one already.
It was Oz's just second race in June, but the team did very well with Gossy's 3rd place in Eneco Tour and this victory here. Now we have a heavy schedule ahead for July!

Goss with first race-win to make it two in a row for Oz
After the Oz's win in Monterrey, the team went to Belarus to add another victory to it's palmares this year: Matthew Goss sprinted to his first race-win in the Zimnyanya GP to keep the team's ball rolling.
Gossy lacked an outstanding result in one day races so far this year, but found himself in a very good position when the expected bunch sprint in Zimnyanya kicked off. In a sprint, which looked like it would be a very close til the end, our premium sprinter eventually had the very best speed to cross the line as first with a comfortable gap on top-favorite Ciolek.
A great result for our team, which currently sits on 5th place in the PCT's rankings! Our riders are now heading for Great Britain, where the two events on the Isle of Man may see Oz challenging for some more good results hopefully.

That would be cool. Two teams coming off the relegation battle in 2013, proving that one off-season can turn things quickly! Wish you the best, too. Thanks, mate.

Manx Maximum - Rogers and Bobdrige make it four in a row!
The team just won't stop winning these days: after grabbing two consecutive victories in Monterrey and Zimnyanya, the Oz Cycling was heading for Great Britain and a double-header on the famous Isle of Man. And things went perfect, yet again, as veteran Rogers and team captain Bobridge added two more wins to make it four in a row for Oz!
The Isle of Man ITT would be a true test for the division's best specialists against the clock: a long and quite hilly parcours, which was expected to suit top-favorite Mikhail Ignatiev the best. Our former TT world champion Michael Rogers (runner-up behind Zabriskie last year) had his very own plan in mind though: already leading our team to Monterrey's back-to-back title, the veteran put up a huge performance to take this prestigious victory by the smallest margin of less than a second on Ignatiev! Kristjan Koren (6th) and Jack Bobridge (10th) completed a strong overall result.
Bobridge seemed to have saved himself some energy for the more important HC-race then: our superstar was expected to be a real threat for the Manx International and he delivered! Totally focussed on the somehow expected small bunch sprint, Bobo made his crucial move late into the race to hold off anyone else and complete some outstanding weeks for our team. The Manx Maximum, the Manx double: just crazy.

Indeed perfect run of results for Oz! My love for your team is big, but you could leave that race for Mikhail you know.
Good luck for the next weeks, where you should put the mark on the promotion sheet.

Believe me, I would gladly have given this win to you Of course it's great to see Rogers going for some late fame here, but still.. as said in the Manx-thread, I'm hoping for your Isle of Man-showing to be some kind of a twist this year!
Thanks for the kind words, both Avin and LLS!

Very impressive run since Monterrey, a fistful of victories! It seems I have lost count long ago of your wins in this short period, I don't blame you if you have as well! Anymore on the horizon? |

I'm keeping my palmares updated (check first page), so never losing count of wins And while this run has to stop at some point, there should be still some races, where we do have realistic chances for victories..

Rogers completes run of five wins to finish 7th in the US
The most notable action for Oz Cycling in the HC-race USA Pro Cycling Challenge happened in the prologue: Michael Rogers, currently on a hot streak, went for the team's fifth win in five consecutive starts to take out the short challenge against the clock ahead of teammate Kristjan Koren.
The following days in the US would be quite disappointing from a neutral point of view, as none of the GC-favorites showed any special efforts to makes this an entertaining race. Our team though had one special moment, when Tom Scully celebrated too early on second day and lost the stage to Ian Boswell eventually! Gazelle's Mongolian Erdenebayar Daspuntsag took the queen stage thanks to a long solo-effort and would sensationally remain yellow til the end.
The hilly timetrial would then become the key stage for all other GC-contenders: opposing to our latest run of winning timetrials, both Rogers and Koren couldn't compete with the very best on that day, but at least scored decent results to go for 7th and 11th in the GC. A great result for Rogers, who finished as 23rd in this race one year ago (also taking a stage).
Not much to say about this race though, as it really have been seven quiet days. Maybe a special mention should go to our riders, who tried their luck with breakaways: Rhys Gillett, Adam Phelan and the GC-winner's compatriot Sonomtseren Delgerbayar.

Two stage-wins in Southland - Bennett 7th on home soil
The Oz Cycling Project was heading for New Zealand and the Tour of Southland, which became a climber-friendly stage race this season: while we hadn't the biggest hopes to score a great GC-result, our up and coming Kiwi George Bennett proved his potential to finish 7th in the GC eventually.
In addition to that, our TT-specialists once again delivered in those two stages against the clock: Michael Ford and Miles Olman went for a 1-2 in the prologue and the team added a second stage-win in the TTT on fourth day. Two pleasant results in a race, that was mostly about those TTs for Oz.
But Bennett put up a huge fight on the queen stage, where he missed the first crucial moves and fought his way back to a strong group of climbers (see picture below) to finish 8th on the stage and 7th in the GC! A strong showing by the local favorite, who missed the white jersey close. We couldn't expect much more from our trip to New Zealand, so it's another good result in our series run of success.
