Well there's my complete Part 1 schedule. 6 Days Down Under, then 7 in Africa and 5 in Portugal. It's a global start to my career as a pro, i guess marketing had some role to play there. I am super excited to ride my home race of the Tour Down Under. Ideally i would love to get into a breakaway but i'm happy enough giving support to Kawasaki.
Gabon i don't really know what to expect. More support riding i guess. It's no bad thing, i mean this is my first season. Just having no pressure and getting to learn and gain experience is a key part of the process. Same for Algarve, which has my first Time Trail which is my strongest skill.
I'm happy with the opening two months before a long break after Algarve of about 5 weeks. The management doesn't want me to burn out and i like that. I had some worries about the team but i feel better now i know they do care about my wellbeing. Let's just get going and see what i can do. Let's make some serious history.

We are getting very close to the start of the 2014 season which opens with the Tour de Gabon and the Santos Tour Down Under where we have sent two strong competitive teams.
Tour de Gabon
The seven stage Tour de Gabon should be a good race and opens the season for the team. It is a continental race where we believe we can do very well. We have sent the great Delfi Cervero as our leader and think he can do very well with young support riders like Barbin, van Baarle and Zordan to join him. This will also be the first time racing for young Aussie girl Krista Marcus who will be free to join breakaways if she likes. We look forward to a cracking season opener!
Team:
Enrico Barbin
Delfi Cervero
Yonder Godoy
Krista Marcus
Carlos Jose Ochoa
Jackson Rodriguez
Dylan van Baarle
Andrea Zordan
Santos Tour Down Under
The 5 stage race down under is the WT season opener which we were given a wildcard to participate in. The team should cope well in the hot summer temperatures in Adelaide and this should prepare them well for the Tour of Qatar later in the season which will be in similar conditions. We have a goal of a stage win here in Australia which could be difficult but hopefully Kawasaki can deliver in the sprints. Krista Marcus and Ahmed Al Mohney will both be free to go stage hunting from the breakaways. The team will also be guided by the very experienced Alessandro Petacchi as well as kiwi Hayden Roulston. Should be a good race and a good test for the team.
Team:
Ahmed Al Mohney
Yukiya Arashiro
Mattia Gavazzi
Ryu Kawasaki
Krista Marcus
Alessandro Petacchi
Hayden Roulston

We are so almost there now! The atmosphere in the team has been slowly creeping up and up as the media goes through it's pre-season stuff. I just want to get on the road and in the action. Gabon for 7 days and then straight over to Adelaide for another 6. Not much rest in the opening weeks. So my plan is to take it easy in Africa.
Learn the peloton. Ease into it, get my legs under me slowly. I don't want to rush, crash and miss out on planned races. In Australia i'll try and be more active. It's one of three events i'm really targeting (the others being the Nationals RR and ITT). Plus Thomas will be around. After Algarve we've got some nice time to spend together, kind schedule makers!

Hello it's your favourite Quatari. I know I haven't updated my blog in a long time, but now I decided to finally do so again. A lot has happened. I changed team in the winter break. I liked it very much at Lampre but suddenly my father told me that next season I'll ride at Androni, which is now the best Italian team with great Quatari rider in it. My father said I'm too dumb to understand why I had to move team, it has something to do with big business men. He said I should not be whiny about it or he'll cancel another deal which involves a villa on the Adria coast, so I stopped complaining. But guys at Androni are really nice and like to get on my private jet with me and play with my money in Las Vegas. It's nice to be liked because of my personality. Only team boss seems to be idiot, he said in training camp most imprtant is to ride with bike and not Lamborghini. Apparently he called my father and then I had to give Lamborghini my team boss. Gladly he doesn't know about other three Lamborghini in my garage. Next training camp will be fun. But then the relationship of me with my team boss got even worse when he presented full team. I was only listed as domestique, which is a disgrace. Even a girl has a better status in my team. I think it is very weird to have a girl in the team. It is very nice view when riding behind her, I think I have found spot on where to ride in peloton this season, but in my oppinion a girl doesn't belong on a bike but in the kitchen, the dungeon in the basement or the bed. Seeing her ride is like watching a monkey try to skate. You know it's wrong but you think it's funny. But back on my argument with the team boss. I was only listed as domestique. Like always when I need to solve a problem I called my father and he decided quick, my team boss had to give me back my Lamborghini. I was very happy about the look on his face when I stepped in the perfectly shaped car and crashed it against the next sidewalk, just because it's fun. Anyways my raceplanning for next months is there. I'll ride at Tour down Under and Volta ao Algarve behind perfectly shaped ass and then also ride at home to make my father proud at Tour of Qatar. I'll write soon again, see you.

Mr Ahmed Al Mohney
We understand your current frustration but at the moment your role in our team is as a domestique and we saw Krista as being a bigger talent because she is much younger and more often eager than you.
In terms of your thoughts towards female cyclists, we are disgraced at your comments. I'm sure in your family these thoughts would be fine but in Europe we have the utmost respect for women and think the idea of incorporating a female cyclist into the male peloton as brilliant and a step in the right direction because truthfully there is not much of a difference in ability.
I am sure you will get along well with Krista at the races your participate in together but I highly doubt she will appreciate your comments and because of this we ask you to have more respect for her and think of her as just another team member.
We also hope you appreciate your participation in Qatar as your daddy was one of the sole reasons you are racing there because we could have sent another sprinter. We also hope you do your country proud.
Regards,
Travi Rujano

Delfi's Season Preview
Having once again peered into his crystal ball, Delfi Cevero has finally gathered all the information needed for the world's greatest (not to mention latest) season preview. Whereas most season previews tend to focus on the final rankings, Delfi's deliriously dazzling visions have shown him exactly what will happen at every point of the season. Don't say he didn't warn you!
19th January: By the end of the Tour of Gabon, the first woman will have ridden in the men's cycling peleton. However, an investigation is launched as to whether Krista Marcus' stage win was down to what the media are generously calling the 'Ladies First' effect. All cyclists who mentioned that, "There was a great view in Gabon" have been given a hefty fine.
20th February: A communist revolution has seized the Algarve. The People's (sort of) Republic of the Algarve was formed while Kim Po-Ding was on his way to securing his second consecutive win in Portugal. The Glorious Leader seized the opportunity to stealthily work up the propaganda machine. Unfortunately, none of North Korea's military personnel know what propaganda is, and decided their best bet was to invade it anyway. The Algarve is now the prime destination for North Korean holidays, miles of beaches, beautiful sights, and plenty of cliffs to throw you off if you ask too many questions.
17th March: Due to an administrative error, 6 top 5s will have to be awarded in Tirreno Adriatico. The issue first came to light with the EPIC's goals idea, in which every team has certain tasks they must achieve to get rewarded. However, too many goals were awarded in reference to the Tirreno GC, and EPIC was forced to back down and revert to a style of counting not seen since the latest Miss World competition.
4th April: Having seen his cobble team dismantled, ageing star Tom Boonen has finally had enough with the Northern Classics. He pulled out of the Ronde Van Vlaanderen today, claiming that "cobbles are not bumpy enough anymore". Instead he will prepare to be the fastest man to complete the Paris Roubaix route on a penny farthing.
9th April: The organisers of the Scheldeprijs event have decided that the course is not flat enough to be considered a true test of sprinting. With gradients of almost 0.5% the race could easily be won by a late attack, which could be missed by TV cameras. In an effort to make the Scheldeprijs more exciting, the organisers plan to dig up some of the 'mountains' crossed by the event.
12th April Team Colombia looks set to dispand after disputes over the nationality of their riders. With a team about as patriotic as the Qatari handball team they are breaking years of tradition as a strong, South American, people's favourite. Scandal took hold of cycling once more when the team management tried to pass off Alex Dowsett as Alexis D'Owsett, a Colombian farmer, in order to enter him into the national time trial competition. Unable to put out a full squad for their own national championships, the pressure was mounting on the team, and it no longer looks like they will be able to continue.
26nd April: Delfi Cervero's historic Ardennes triple this year has been tainted by yet another cycling scandal. His first victory came in the Amstel Gold Race, when all the other competitors fell ill and abandoned halfway through the race. Cervero, who was riding 5 minutes behind the pack at the time, promptly won the event. The latest intel suggests that the local water supply and all team bottles were contaminated with high quantities of horse tranquilliser, possibly by the Androni team. Knowing Cervero only drinks carrot juice, they deliberately drugged the other competitors to give the Costa Rican an advantage. It remains to be seen whether the EPIC will take action over what the Androni team boss has called "a minor offence"
28th May: The Giro d'Italia will have to be abandoned after an incredible turn of events unfolded in the Italian Alps. On stage 18 the peleton was attacked by a yeti while climbing a pass in snowy whether. The abominable snowman is said to be on holiday from his usual home in the Himalayas. Despite warnings the race went ahead, but not for long. Police are attempting to negotiate with the yeti, who took two hostages in Elia Viviani and Ivan Santaromita.
15th July As so often happens, the first rest day of the tour has been embroiled with doping scandals. This time the accusations centre around the FDJ team. Many consider the French outift to be a clean team, but the latest evidence suggests otherwise. An anonymous tip off from a rival team has information which suggests mass doping of all non-french riders within FDJ. Those affected have not been available for comment, but the FDJ management has said that "these claims are ridiculous" and "whoever made them is an idiot". Tomorrow the EPIC will have to take a decision on whether or not the FDJ team can complete the Tour.
20th August The Organisers of the Vuelta a Espania have been forced to make some last minute changes to the route in order to boost viewing figures. Their previous stage plan was described as boring and repetitive, with every stage looking almost identical. Now things are very different. Exact details are not known, but we do know that stage 7 will take place during the Pamplona bull run, with the stage winner being the last rider to be gored by a bull. Stage 10 is the first mountain stage, but to liven things up all cyclists will be armed with lances and full metal armour. The riders can look forward to an exciting, if potentially life-threatening race.
28th September The cycling world is currently celebrating the world championship win of one Jeremy Powers. No one is quite sure how or why the American was competing, but he was certainly on another level compared to the rest of the field. Cynics claim that his arrival at the line several hours early was down to the fact he only completed one lap, but haters are gonna hate, and Powers is gonna celebrate.

The season is just about the start. The team presentation finished earlier today meaning racing is right with us at last. I'm looking forward to getting out on the roads, primarily because our hotel sucks ass. Not wishing to bash on Gabon, which is a perfectly nice place, but the overall quality of servies doesn't match up to what i'm used to.
I also want to get riding because i've got some anger to burn up after reading various comments from riders about my place in the peloton. Delfi's comments i mostly pass off as good natured humor. He is a funny guy, at least he tries to be, even if he is a grating personality. However it was the comments from Al Mohney that really hurt.
Luckily i can write him off as a spoiled rich kid who knows no better because he's chained to his dad. Hopefully anyone else with such opinions has the sense to keep them to themselves. I wonder what response the Aussie crowd will give him in a couple of weeks time.

To Delfi
Thank you very much for your great preview! We hope that Krista will pick up that stage win in Gabon because of her hard work. We appreciate the effort you put into this season preview and hope you do really well in Gabon!
Dear Krista
Regarding Gabon, I am sure that your accomodation will only improve from here. It was the best available and we are disappointed to hear that it isn't up to scratch. We will make sure to have a word with the hotel staff regarding this matter.
We would like to apologize for the sexist pig comments from Al Mohney recently. We know he is jealous because you are going to become a much stronger rider than him and he knows his future with this team is unlikely to go past the end of this season so he is trying to do something while his daddy still has 'some control'. We hope this gives fuel to you to do even better in the next few weeks! And I am sure the Aussies will sort that spoiled kid out when he arrives there in the next couple of weeks.
Gabon
The preview for the Tour de Gabon has just been released by a member of the UCI who is known to us and he has listed our Delfi Cervero as one of the lower favourites to win the GC but we know he is a contender for the podium if not the win in Gabon, after all he is the best hilly rider participating in the race. Zordan has been listed as our sprint leader but he is there mostly as a domestique for Cervero. Krista also received praise for her competitive spirit and courage to take the step up into Men's Pro Cycling. Our reunion with Calzone will also be in Gabon where we will hopefully see him in our dust!

Pro cycling is hard! Might seem obvious but it's not something you can appreciate until you've been in the charging peloton. The opening stages in Gabon have been fast and intense and for a newbie like myself it is really challenging. I have been dropped by the main groups a couple of times, but i always end up with some big name company which does make me feel slightly better about it.
The team is doing ok, not exactly good. We are improving as the race progresses and i don't think the first big breakthrough result for th squad is too far away now. It is a bit further away for me but that is to be expected. Plus i am trying to pace myself and save as much as possible for the TDU which follows imediately after this race finishes.
