PCM was playing up a lot, so i took a slightly different approach to Haut Var... i'd say it worked... (i quick-simmed)
Tour du Haut Var
Team: Lasnik, Van Achteren, Kniesky, Kowalski, Lalouette, Barrat, Lemair, Patoux
Stage 1: Le Cannet des Maures - La Croix Valmer
RLM failed to get a man into the break, but when the break was brought back before the finishing laps, Lasnik jumped away to bag some KoM points. From there on he hung on to finish in a very strong group.

Stage 2: Draguignan - Draguignan
Great start to the day as Lasnik sneaked into the days breakaway, thank go for no radios! He proceeded to snap up enough KoM points to secure his first ever Jersey win! Once the break was caught Tom fought hard to finish decently and grab a good GC position as well.

Comment
Certainly a harder race than the Med. Stronger startlist really made this a tough one, which is why we decided to tackle a Jersey rather than the GC. Laid a good base on Stage 1 with a late attack and secured it with a lucky Break on Stage 2. Added to that another Top25 GC result and it was great couple of days. Tough, but great! I have earned a break from racing...

February Rankings Summary
(As of 1st March)
World Tour
Obviously no change here since last month. But March has several races in to look forwards to.
Continental
Haussler (IAM) has taken over the lead. A couple of Top10's in Oman support a strong 2nd in the Omloop. Coquard (EUC) slips to second place having struggled since the Etoile. Valentin (COF) is still up there in third place! Lasnik (RLM) has slipped to 6th but is still ahead of expectations.
Europcar still lead the teams rankings. Bardini have moved into second place, with Cofidis a close third. Roubaix are 6th, which is the second best CT team behind Bissell.
CQ
Hushovd (BMC) still leads having added some stage wins in Langkawi. Gavazzi (AST) holds second thanks to a stage win and good GC in Oman. Moser (CAN) moves upwards to third place with two one-day wins in Italy.
BMC still hold the best team position. Quickstep take second and Movistar third place. Europcar are the best PCT team, and Roubaix take position as best placed CT team.

"Don't Just Get There. Arrive!"
Hola mes amigos! Today i am writing from Spain, hence the odd welcome. Yes i am not in my, still cold, flat in Roubaix. Nope i am in sunny, if still cold, Southern Spain. More specifically Andalucia, and even more specifically Nerja. Why am i here? Well following my amazing start to the season David Millar got in contact with me via Twitter and he invited me out to Spain to join him for a training week. How could i say no! So i'm here with David Millar, of Garmin-Sharp, and he even brought a few friends along such as Dan Martin and recently returned Alex Rasmussen. What the fuck!
We've been out here for 5 days now and return home in a couple more. It has been incredible. We've hired out a villa for our stay and it's made for a really fun atmosphere. No matter how hard the rider we do, the jokes are always waiting to be unleashed. The three of them are such different characters. David has been through everything pro cycling has to throw. His knowledge is unmatched as is his sarcastic humor. Alex of course is just returning from a suspension and has his own stories to tell. It's been a long time away for him and he is just about in race form and is buzzing to get back at it. Which leaves Dan... Danny... He is certainly... He's Dan Martin! And none of us would have it any other way.
We've been out on the bikes every day, and usually off into the hills and mountains. We did do one day of time trial work, which i hated, and returned such hate by tearing into the climbs at every chance. Yeah Dan blitzes me, but not as often as he might like, and i am well ahead of David and Alex.
I must address the obvious question. Yes there was the expected sales pitch encouraging me to join Garmin-Sharp. And i listened intently. My contract is only for 2013 and it's already obvious that i should look to move upwards, and yes several teams have been poking around already. Have i made a decision, no of course not! It's bloody March! But i have started thinking. Naturally i'll come back to transfers in this blog.
Yeah thats what i've been up to, training. The rest of the team are doing a great and consistent job in other races, and the energy is really high right now. It's still early but what a great season so far! We really want to keep it going. Next up for me is the Criterium International, and very very hard race. It attacts the very best riders so going for a GC is pointless. Our goal will be on getting the KoM jersey, or at least into the breaks. But that's still a few days away.
So, umm, yeah. There you go. I guess i'll have to write about the Crit Int, what with it being so big. See yah next time then!

HOLY SHIT!!! That was amazing! This beats any result i've had before. A Top10 at the Crit Int, that is insane! And i'll tell you something, i had more to give on that final climb. Stage 1 was good and i felt strong. TT went better than i thought but that final climb was something else. Just outstanding! Added to that another Jersey win as well. And i did it all in front of the Garmin guys as well, i could see them looking. I can see a few more wins coming this season.
