That was a very solid season for Jelly Belly in good time as well.
A very nice looking banner there, I like how the wording is kept the same in the middle so we can link it to the previous season.
You could/ should hire some more staff maybe a coach.
I would try and get invites to the T.D.U and smaller stage races and maybe some small classics for Roelandts.
The three groups of 6 riders sounds great.
A nice looking Schleck podium there. |

@ all : it looks like Schleckpower got in action in TdF however Scarponi has really been much stronger.
So here is my tentative planning for next season:
Group 1: Gerdeman (leader) - Butler (Mountain support) - Loutit (Hill support) - Dickinson - Powers -Mazich
They will plan picks of form weeks 1-8 and 27-38
targeting stage race category 2.HC et 2.1 depending on invits success, targets could be:
Tour de Langkawi, Tour Ostereich, Brixia, Tour de Pologne (WT), Tour of Utah and US Pro Cycling.
Group 2: Roelandts (leader) - Castroviejo (possible alternative leader will have a special training plan if we are successful to get an invit to chrono des nations) - Alberio (hills support) - Hanson - Huff (70 on flat to help replace Roelandts for sprints) - Hagman (can protect early in cobble stage).
They will plan picks of form weeks 1-19 and 37-40
targeting flat stage races and lower category flat/cobble 1-ray race, objective could be: TDU (WT), 4 jours de Dunkerck, Ronde Vqn dreqden, KBC de la Panne or circuit France-Belgique.
Group 3: Nerz (leader) - Ovechkin (possible alternative leader if mountainous and TT) - Miller (hill support) - Hamilton - Cogburn - Oronte.
They will plan picks of form weeks 10-24 and 397-42
targeting mainly 2.2 races that we have already joined this year such as Ruta de America, Tour Uruguay, Tour Colombia, Tour Venezuela...
Let me know if you would like me to make some modification to this planning (pick of form, compo of the Groups, 1 important race that I have not mentioned, etc)

@ sutty68: hope so
So I've followed your advises and recruited 2 coaches.
Here are the details of the training program for the team:
So let's start the season!
PS: feel free to comment on the organisation and training, still time to change

@ sutty68: This guys cost us a fortune, he better has to do his job!
So as promised, let's start season 2.... with some bad news:
Also as I will race more, I am experimenting a new format for the report, though I might stick to the old style for biggest race (cat HC and WT if any?). Tell me what's your view on all this:
Objectives
Initially to win with Gerdemann, plus 1 stage and KoM. But more bad news come in as for some reason Gerdemann has a fitness of 30 to start with. Too bad as he should have been our leader in Argentina… So I put in the team Castroviejo with the hope to at least win the time trial stage. Objectives become:
- Top 5
- KoM
- 1 stage win
Team Highlight
Main team's goal is the stage ITT
Gerdemann proves to be out of form loosing 36’’.
When Castroviejo starts he knew the best time to be beaten: Del Nero’s
23’10. At the intermediate time on top of the hill, he is 2’’ behind. But he keeps pushing,
to cross the line in… 23’10! But a second place.
Key stages
Stage 2:
Loutit goes in the winning break, securing good margin for his KoM. But he has to witness his breakaway companion, Morton’s success when passed on the line by Mori.
Mori proves to be the strong man together with Proni and Pietropolli. Both Castroviejo and Gerdemann have done well but lost about 1’.
Stage 5
Mori proves his strength again but with almost no gap to Pietropolli and Proni.
Stage 6
Pietropolli takes them all by surprise and secure both the win and a nice time gap before the final flat stage. Unfortunately both Gerdemann and Castroviejo have to let the leader group go in the last hills. So they finish te stage 6 and 7th and are kicked out from Top 5.
Stage 7
The breakaway makes it. Gerdemann attacks with the hope of taking the 30’’ he needs to move back in the Top 5.
With a such a strong wind, he failed but the pack split while chasing him, so both him and Castroviejo move up 1 place.
Classifications:
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Daniele Pietropolli | Bank Bgz | 26h19'59 | 2 | Manuele Mori | Acqua & Sapone | + 2'50 | 3 | Alessandro Proni | Acqua & Sapone | + 4'31 | 4 | Gonzalo Rabunal Rios | Movistar Team Ct | + 4'43 | 5 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | + 5'18 | 6 | Sergio Pardilla Bellon | Movistar Team Ct | + 5'34 | 7 | Jonathan Castroviejo Nicolas | Dual Temp | + 5'36 | 8 | Pablo Lastras Garcia | Caja Rural | + 7'11 | 9 | Lukasz Bodnar | Bank Bgz | + 9'47 | 10 | Sacha Modolo | Colnago - Domina Vacanze | + 10'03 |
Stage 1 | Sacha Modolo | Colnago - Domina Vacanze | Stage 2 | Lachlan Morton | Chipotle Development Team | Stage 3 | Fabio Sabatini | Jamis - Sutter Home | Stage 4 | Jesus Del Nero Montes | Christina Watches - Onfone | Stage 5 | Manuele Mori | Acqua & Sapone | Stage 6 | Daniele Pietropolli | Bank Bgz | Stage 7 | Phil Zajicek | Bissell Cycling Team | Points | Daniele Pietropolli | Bank Bgz | Mountain | Alastair Loutit | Dual Temp |
Wrap up:
2/3
- Top 5
- KoM
- 1 stage win

btw I think the new reporting style is great for smaller races, but I would use a little more detail in bigger one

@ all: well yes and no as I was expecting a win...
@welker3257: Tx I will do just as you suggest!
Objectives
Roelandts, though starting his season, should prove to dominate sprint and stick to the pack on hill stages so as to claim a great finish:
- Win GC
- KoM
- 2 stages win
Team Highlights
Roelandts is not even a remote favorite on flat stage. And indeed he cannot compete at all in any massive sprint.
Key stages
Stage 3
Roelandts is sticking with the best and as current leader, House is loosing ground, Roelandts gets the yellow jersey for 1’’ (thanks to various bonus taken earlier)
Stage 4
A breakaway has win the stage, ensuring no better sprinter takes the bonus and the yellow. However, benefiting that the pack has given up, Roelandts attacks and finishes ahead of the pack.
Unfortunately he is credited with the pack’s time.
Stage 6
The stage of all danger with an hill finish. Roelandts has to arrive with the best to keep his yellow jersey.
The breakaway was caught. Roelandts could response to Offredo’s attack but when Di Luca’s turn comes he is blocked and then he simply didn’t have the strength to close the gap.

Wrap up
0/3
- Win GC
- KoM
- 2 stages win
Not even a Top 5, no stage win. All the more disappointing that Roelandts finishes 2nd in Points and Powers second in KoM…
Only Alberio takes the white, but who cares?

@ all : I don't think his fitness is in question, he is very correct this early in the season. I really don't understand: with 75 in SP and Flat, descent aceleration, he seems incapable of aking the wheel of riders with same or lower stats Hope this will change soon.
But for now, let's go along with our A-team and hope for victory!
Objectives
With the competition present in Italia, a Top 5 will be the target and KoM, that is probably all we can hope for.
Key Stages
Stage 1:
Hill finish with the full pack at the bottom. Gerdemann attacks with few kilometers to go. But Valverde counters and sprints out Gerdemann for the win.
Stage 2:
Probably the most difficult stage. A breakaway with no one dangerous takes a comfortable lead and Masciarelli is the only one resisting the come back of the strong men to take the win and 3rd place in GC.
In the last big climb when Valverde attacks, only Gerdemann can take his wheel for a 2 and 3 in the stage ranking.
With no change in the 3rd stage, we pick up 3 podium in 3 days, but still no win
Classifications
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Alejandro Valverde Belmonte | Movistar Team | 24h59'32 | 2 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | + 2 | 3 | Francesco Masciarelli | Acqua & Sapone | + 6 | 4 | Przemyslaw Niemiec | Lampre - Isd | + 36 | 5 | Rinaldo Nocentini | Ag2r La Mondiale | + 40 | 6 | Cédric Pineau | Landbouwkrediet | + 49 | 7 | Luis Pasamontes Rodriguez | Movistar Team | + 56 | 8 | Jonathan Castroviejo Nicolas | Dual Temp | s.t. | 9 | Jan Tratnik | Adria Mobil | + 1'04 | 10 | Gasper Svab | Sava | s.t. |
Stage 1 | Alejandro Valverde Belmonte | Movistar Team | Stage 2 | Francesco Masciarelli | Acqua & Sapone | Stage 3 | Sven Krauss | Atlas Personal | Points | Alejandro Valverde Belmonte | Movistar Team | Mountain | Alejandro Valverde Belmonte | Movistar Team |
Wrap up:
1/2
- Top 5
- KoM
With a flying Valverde, Gerdemann’s second place sounds like victory. Castroviejo Top 10 is nice bonus too.
However the team ends his first month of competition virgin of victory. One might call it a “Draught”.
“Jurgen, you are not part of the favorite again, but your form is up and the field is beatable, so we all count on you. Take the right wheel and sprint like a mad dog.”
As planned the race ended in a massive sprint. Roelandts takes Geschke’s wheel and was expecting if not the win at least a Top 3 when Modolo comes back from nowhere to pass every one on the line. Still the best sprint of his season so far for Roelandts.
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Sacha Modolo | Colnago - Domina Vacanze | 4h48'18 | 2 | Simon Geschke | Bmc Racing Team | s.t. | 3 | Danilo Napolitano | Acqua & Sapone | s.t. | 4 | Jürgen Roelandts | Dual Temp | s.t. | 5 | Francisco Jose Ventoso Alberdi | Movistar Team | s.t. | 6 | Roberto Ferrari | Androni Giocattoli - Cipi | s.t. | 7 | Javier Aramendia Lorente | Caja Rural | s.t. | 8 | Francesco Ginanni | Acqua & Sapone | s.t. | 9 | Alessandro Maserati | Utensilnord Named | s.t. | 10 | Sven Vanthourenhout | Landbouwkrediet | s.t. |

Unfortunately Gerdermann came up against an in form Valverde in Calabria
Such a close sprint from Jurgen too
Don't worry though, as fitness improves that win will soon arrive |
