The transfer season finishes on 30 October right? Because right now, I'm $19,020 in the red, my sponsor payout is the same as my rider wages each month. I fired all the staff (that was the problem), so is there any way to gain money before the transfer season ends without using the editor?

This doesn't work in pcm 2013 anymore right? Because in my experience the money you got from races in pcm 2012 is now going directly to the riders...

@ Cycleman: You should've edited your sponsor goals for some extra money in the beginning of the season... That's the only way what i know of.. Except for using an editor ofcourse.

I just wanted to say that I have not lost any interest or motivation for this story, but I am back to school now and have exams in 3 weeks now so I don't have much time. I am also trying to fix Lachi's editor. Tell me though, would you guys mind if we had the same team next season?

The Profile

Definitely a race that will be won by a climber. I think that with our squad we should be looking to win.

The Team

Leader
John Darwin Atapuma

Main Teammate
Robinson Chalapud

Backup Teammate
Fabio Melani

Breakaway
Marco Corti

Domestique
Dalivier Ospina

Domestique
Carlos Quintero

Domestique
Michael Rodriguez Galindo

Domestique
Duber Quintero

Game Plan

DS Version: OK, we should be looking to win here. Robinson you'll be helping Darwin and Fabio I want you to try and keep up with them and then help Darwin when Rob's had it. Marco Corti you try to get in the breakaway, and the rest of you just try to ride well.

My Version: Mr. DS actually got it right this time! Wink. I'll try to help as best I can, but the truth is that the team's main 2 guys for this race are far better than me, so I'll just look for a good result. I'll see you in the race, but until then...

Our race didn't go to plan in Germany. Duque was our best rider, finishing in 29th. We also had Avila in 67th, however Camacho was 2nd last and Corti WAS last.

The Race

Atapuma was the 2nd favourite for the race win, behind Cristophe le Mevel (COF).

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/Fabio%20Melani/PCM0004_zps1cf453a1.png

We had a large break of 10 men.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/Fabio%20Melani/PCM0005_zps71397359.png

Fast forward to the favourites making moves. Chalapud was as usual impeccable in protecting our leader, and Atapuma attacked on the big downhill previous to the final climbs.

Atapuma was in E2, chasing the favourites, while Chalapud was in E3 and me in E6. We were all solo, and Chalapud was dead.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/Fabio%20Melani/PCM0007_zps9f579897.png

But then our team's leaders' curse struck again. Atapuma was just about to pass Le Mevel when he took a tumble. Chalapud got up to him but the instructions were to keep going.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/Fabio%20Melani/PCM0008_zps5711d1de.png

Atapuma was dropped by even the peloton, but his extreme willpower and determination helped him to overtake them yet again. Meanwhile, up front, Chalapud was working for me.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/Fabio%20Melani/PCM0009_zpsb5867ede.png

But Atapuma rejoined in E4! He was extremely tired, but he had 2 teammates with him. We would have to drain ourselves completely to catch the solo leader, Tschopp of IAM.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/Fabio%20Melani/PCM0010_zps78802b9f.png

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/Fabio%20Melani/PCM0011_zps6d2df5a2.png

Atapuma got up to second! It was really outstanding what he was doing. He was now dropping Le Mevel and Arroyo. He was almost dead though...

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/Fabio%20Melani/PCM0012_zps6660b803.jpg

The pair though found some gas left in the tank, and started to work too. Tschopp's lead was looking all the more vulnerable.

Most of the last climb though was above 10%, could we hold on?

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/Fabio%20Melani/PCM0013_zps6c4e2394.png

Even more than that! Atapuma went flying away from his companions, and set about on his pursuit of the Swiss leader.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/Fabio%20Melani/PCM0014_zps92ad1d7f.jpg

Meanwhile in the peloton, Seb Reichenbach had missed all the moves and tried his luck with 6.1km left... 9'51" behind Pfft.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/Fabio%20Melani/PCM0015_zps8c20d28b.png

Unfortunately today it would be Tschopp who won.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/Fabio%20Melani/PCM0016_zps1d2693ac.png

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/Fabio%20Melani/PCM0018_zps41c30fa2.png

Atapuma did enough to stay clear of any opposition for 2nd.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/Fabio%20Melani/PCM0019_zps2bc7923f.jpg

Chalapud overtook me with 1km to go, and took 11th, with me 12th.

Review

All in all a good day: After crashing, Atapuma managed a magnificent 2nd place, while I myself managed 12, a good result. Next up is the Amgen Tour of California, but until then...

So, right now I'm in America, training for the Tour of California. This morning I met with the DS to discuss my schedule for the rest of the season. Here it is:

GP Gippingen: 06/06
A circuit race in which I might struggle a little bit, but it will be a good test of my skills.

Tour of Qinhai Lake: 07/07-15/07
9 stages in rather the same format as the Tour of Turkey. I might lead, but I'm not counting on it.

Circuit de Getxo: 31/07
A tough race which I can't pronounce, even with much practice.

Vuelta a Burgos: 7/08-11/08
I stay in Spain for the first of my secondary goals.

USA Pro Cycling Challenge: 19/08-25/08
My 2nd secondary goal in a very tough race.

Grand Prix Cycliste de Quebec: 13/09
My first WT race! That's all I can really say Pfft

Tour of Britain: 15/09-22/09
An 8 stage race which usually attracts big names.

Milano-Torino: 3/10
The second last race of the season which is suited to me.

Chrono des Nations: 20/10
A good race to test myself in longer time trials. It's more of a training ride for me, but of course I'll try my best.

Japan Cup: 21/10
A good race for me, and the last pro cycling race of the season. Really hoping to perform here.

So guys, before I start this schedule, I need to ride the Tour of Cali. I'll see you there soon, but until then...

The Game Plan

DS Version: Okay, so this is a really big race, and the winner will get a lot of points. We have a really strong squad, so there's no reason why we shouldn't win. Breakaways aren't essential, but Valencia's our man for them.

My Version: I need to prove here that I am good enough to be higher up the team pecking order. Since we have 2 or 3 really strong teammates already for Duarte, I'm going to try and maybe show my own skillset. The team must come first though. The first stage is looming, but until then...
