I do. But then again, when most people were complaining about how boring the last Tour was, I was dying of laughter.

You are a masochist mate.
I will skip it gladly and wait for Giro version of a mountain train.

Nah, it's you who have the problem if you can't see the comedy value of that race.

Ibarguren continues at QuickStep
Meanwhile Cancellara continues to be a thoroughly unlikeable asshole. This time criticizing Sagan for celebrating his wins too wildly and Gerrans for not apologizing for beating him at San Remo last year
Typical Luigi, really.

I must say the interview with Cancellara "shocked" me, surprised me. He's always so sympathetic, but this is just... bullshit. What's he whining about? |

Not here he isn't. In Belgian media, he's one of the greatest guys in cycling. Never heard about Cancellara being a prick |

Vuelta a España will climb Burgos castle in the finish in this city.
It will finish in the same place than other years, but doing a circuit in the city before it.

The worst part is he's a massive hipocryte. He's constantly - and I do mean CONSTANTLY - complaining about other doing things he or his teammates are well known for doing

So strange (for me)
Though I must say, last Milan - San Remo: I understand his frustration. Gerrans just wheelsucking him for the win... Like Sagan in the Tour. Cancellara may be whining, but you must admit it has to be frustrating to be him, always getting wheelsucked. |

Not looking at the doping speculations, Cancellara is a guy that makes cycling interesting he dares attacking and he dares to ride rather then calculate. I can understand he's pissed about Gerrans sucking his wheel last year. I also think Sagan celebrated too hard on his Tour win, after Cancellara did all the work. But yeah, the kid is 22, can't really hold that against him. It's also nothing new, remember Chavanel being told not to help Spartacus during 2011 RvV and just following him for miles? Heck, I do the very same thing in PCM, just looking at Cancellara and counter his attacks.
I can understand his frustration, but he's obviously not doing himself any favours.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

2002 he moves to Saeco. Oh look, Simoni who at 29 years old was a fiasco is suddenly dominating the Giro year after year. Then 22 year old Cunego has an outrageous season winning the Giro plus Lombardia and a bunch of other stuff. Of course when Ibarguren left they immediately started fading. Simoni had a bad 2005, Cunego was never the same again...
I generally agree with the rest of what you said, but I thought Ibarguren was with Lampre (Rumsas, Casagrande ++) those years, and that Filippo Manelli and Carlo Santuccione were responsible when Simoni and Cunego did well for Saeco. I don't believe Ibarguren and Simoni ever were at Lampre at the same time. |

This sentence is very ambiguous so I decided to double check it. Neither Terpstra nor Hoogerland ever won a classic on world tour level.
That is, unless you think it's worth counting Hoogerland's win of the 2001 RVV in the junior category. Or maybe you misread Terpstra's win of the Amstel Curacao race as the Amstel Gold Race?
Either way, your point still has some merit to it, as Terpstra's results did improve significantly though not insanely in 2012, most importantly at P-R (6th) and RVV (5th). |

A good point you raised. That's what was believed before, but in the Mantova investigation it's come up that he was actually involved with both teams at the time.
As these doctors do. He was also at Festina and Euskaltel at the same time for example.

You are of course right, for some reason I mixed up his win in the Dwars last year with the E3. Pretty stupid. But I'm insulted you'd think I could not remember who won the Amstel and confuse it with the Curação criterium

Interesting, I guess I need to read up on the Mantova investigation. |

Thanks. Hard to keep track with all these doctors around
Meanwhile, the UCI claims that they did in fact ask for Fuentes to name the people related to the blood bags - unlike what earlier rumours suggested. Not sure if this is actually true, but with WADA also requesting the information, we might get something out of this at least.

Appearantly, WADA will recieve samples of all the blood bags in the Operation Puerto, from the Spanish authorities after the trial.
This is coming from a Spanish national representative according to Dutch news aggregate site nu.nl
I'm curious, maybe that will uncover some more names inside and outside cycling. |
