Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

First win for TAP - Michelin!
In the first stage of our home race, the Volta ao Algarve, Rui Costa lost all his chances to win the Overall Classification, because we couldnt manage to catch the break of the day. Bagdonas won with almost four minutes ahead of the peloton and Costa. In the second stage we did everything right and sent with Rui Sousa and Bruno Pires two people in the break, of which Rui Sousa could achieve with a final attack the stagewin 21 seconds ahead of the rest of the break. Bruno Pires managed to come in ninth and give us another top ten. Overall Sousa is 14th and our best placed rider with a disadvantage of 34 seconds. In the point classification he is second behind Bagdonas, who is still in the overall lead. That means we can see Sousa in the Points-Jersey in the next stage!
A fully exhausted Sousa taking the stage win! |

Tour of Qatar startlist announced
Team Leader
Tom Veelers
Team Mates
Spoiler
Filipe Cardoso
Leonardo Duque
Sebastien Hinault
Samuel Love
Marco Marcato
Edgar Pinto
To Quatar we send a squad of seven rather decent than bad sprinters. With teams like Pure Black and SGL participating we can expect the big guns like Greipel or Kittel and Goss fighting for the stage wins. But with a little bit of support from his team dutchman Tom Veelers can maybe manage to get some top 10 and maybe even Top 5 results. Other than that we hope to be part of some of the breakaways and achieve some decent results there.
Hopes/Goals: 3 * Top Ten, Overall Top Ten |

Tour of Oman startlist announced
After the only Cycling magazine of Oman set news to the rumors to the world about our squad at Oman, we decided to unveil or squad:
Spoiler
TAP - Michelin riders training in Oman?
After our photograph Saith al Kabid made wonderful pictures of six riders from the spain team TAP - Michelin riding on the route of the first stage of this years Tour of Oman, we can guess these are the riders who will see at Omans stage race number one.
On the picture we can see Chainel, Fedrigo, Gautier, Le Mevel, Vicioso and the polish rider Rutkiewicz. These riders will propably ride the tour of Oman. We asked Omans biggest Cycling expert Sukha abd Oihlh what we can expect of this team: "Le Mevel was once Tour de France 10th, so we see he has already achieved a lot that means we can for sure expect a good result from him but I wouldn't count him as a top favourite!"
The Oman Newssite has guessed our squad right:
Team Leaders:
Christophe Le Mevel
Pierrick Fedrigo
Team Mates:
Our french leader duo has an even mountain strength what will lastly decide the stage. But we also got Rutkiewicz as backup who can do well in the mountains. Nevertheless we will propably assume that our riders doesn't count to the top favourites. We also sent with Chainel and Tulik two decent sprinters who presumably won't have a chance against the likes of Rojas.
Goals/Hopes: 3*Top Ten, GC Top Ten
In the first round of the statementgame we had an uncredibly large amount of competitors: No less than two! These were: Ollfardh and Jesleyh
Jesleyh
- Rui Costa will get in the GC Top 5.
-1
- Rui Costa gets in the Top 5 of the TT.
5
- Nobody will get a stage win
-1
- Beside Costa, there will be another guy in the Top 20 of the GC.
3
- The team won't get a Top 5 in a flat stage.
-1
- Nobody abandons
1
- The highest GC finisher of TAP finishes higher on the GC than the highest GC finisher of ING - InBev finishes on the GC
-1
- The best ING finisher at stage 4 finishes higher than the best TAP finisher
-1
Total: 6
Ollfardh
Rui Costa will...
- do nothing the first 2 days,
4
- then top 10 on the hill,
-1
- then do some silly attack,
it wasn't silly! but I'm nice
2
- then top 10 the TT and
2
- top 5 the GC
-1
Total: 6
So after the first race the two of you are even!
You are of course free to send in statements for Qatar and Oman!

Flu weakens Team TAP - Michelin
TAP - Michelin press officer confirmed rumours about Rui Costa being sick and not being able to start at the Race of the Sun. Costa is already the third in the rows of the Spanish team that was infected by a so far not identified flu. The other two unlucky are Ghyselinck and Rutkiewicz.
Costa won't be able to take part at Paris - Nice, where he was planned to start as captain, his next race on the schedule are the three days of Panne, he will hopefully be fit until then.
Now leading the TAP squad to Paris - Nice will be Lieuwe Westra along with the two Frenchmen Fedrigo and Casar. As their teammates the three Portuguese Cabrera, Sousa and Pires aswell as Italian Marcato will be racing in France!
