The KoM is in the bag, yes. Well done to Mr Oget!
@ollfardh, yep, I can assure you I'm playing. I'm trying my best!
@fcancellara, it's more the recovery to be honest. Everyone except Thompson is already struggling, even though we're only on stage six AND had a rest day (weirdly!) |

Race Report
Tour of South Africa Stage 7

The final stage is a short criterium in Paarl. The route is mostly flat with a very short climb at about 7%. Despite that, this is almost certain to finish in a bunch sprint with the bonus seconds dished out on the line the only thing that lies between Schumacher and winning this race, McEvoy being the only rider who can now beat him.
Today it was the turn of Bakker to go on the attack. The young time triallist being rewarded for his superb teamwork throughout the week. He was joined by eight others and they built up a lead of over four minutes despite the stage being only 100km. Bakker was certainly making the most of the chance, using his TT skills to take long turns on the front.
Chipotle were doing a lot of the chasing today, so Von Hoff must have felt good. As usual, Vorarlberg and Endura were also working hard as the breakaway's lead plummeted. It was interesting to note that Christina Watches didn't have to do any work all day.
On the final lap, a huge crash right near the front of the peloton took out a lot of riders. Weissinger was the guy who caused it this time and he certainly wouldn't be challenging for the win today. Rasmussen and Pedersen were both taken out, dropping them well out of the top ten. Somehow, no Sky youngsters were involved, despite being just behind the accident.
The crash made the sprint very quick and crazy, with Hammarling struggling just to stay on the wheels. As McEvoy, Brown and Von Hoff battled to get on Thwaites' wheel, Schumacher went round all of them to take yet another comfortable win. He really is in a different league to the rest of the guys at this level. Brown was second with Jorgensen third. Hammarling struggled to thirteenth but he clinched an amazing fourth place overall on his and the team's debut. What a ride!

After those two one-day races, there are two long stage races clashing... That means that (I guess) 16 riders will participate.. I feel sorry for the guy who doesn't ride any of them

Ok, who's gonna say the D-word first?
Still nice 4th place from Johan and jeysey for Maxime!
Are we also going to get reports on what the Sky directors think of the riders?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Lots of comments, thanks
@jesleyh, I sure hope there'll be at least 1 win this year And yeah 17 riders is a bit of a problem but that one free man can have a nice holiday!
@Ian Butler, hmmm.. a little bit but, you know, people can change!
@ollfardh, looks like it was mvhoogdalem who said the d-word first!
Yep, there will be posts at the end of March and June and possibly September aswell from Sir Dave B.
@sutty, a great start indeed. Our main problem now will be a lack of race fitness compared to the other teams in Europe that have been doing lots of races that we couldn't.
@mvhoogdalem, thanks a lot |

Race Preview
Paris - Troyes
The team's first ever one day race will be Paris - Troyes in Northern France. The race is very undulating with numerous little hills to get over. However, the race itself is counted as flat as these climbs shouldn't really be hard enough to trouble the sprinters. Of course the French riders will attack, but this should be a bunch kick in Troyes.
The team will have six more debutants on show in France as Kim, Johansson, Zabala, Jaquin, Sutton and Droochit make their first appearance for the team. However, it will be one of the guys that took part in South Africa, Fischer, who will start out as the leader. Of course, this is the sort of race that Jaquin should do well in, and it's a home race for him, but Fischer arrives in better shape and having improved since we last saw him. The other member of the team is Bakker who will certainly hope to use his great fitness levels to good effect here. |

First race, bit nervous. Not really good race for me. Manager says just set pace and get breakaways back. Also, get fitness. Yoo-suk will listen.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.
