Yes but Gilbert wasn't riding GC and as a puncheur he generally could have more 'days off' in a GT because of that.

Yeah, Gilbert was winning one day races or stages, but Wiggo is winning stage-races (three one week and one three weeks), so he needed much longer high form period...

Could be true. It is already an unreal season perfomance by Wiggins. Almost surreal, if he also wins the Worlds ITT then it is surreal.
Just watched some Contador attacks. I really cant wait for him to make fireworks in the Vuelta. Gonna be the best Vuelta since Roberto Heras' victories on Alto De Angliru

Porte, Uran,Henao, Froome mountain time trial, kill me please.
That makes at least three riders in the top 10 and Froome 2nd at worst.
Or rather: Kill it, kill it with fire Alberto!
At least Danny Pate is in the race

I'm not sure that Froome will be so strong in the Vuelta. It could happen, yes, but we still don't know how he'll cope with a 2nd GT this season.
