Lol. Eisel is in front of Cav. Seems like Britain have found themselves an extra man. That doesn't happen. |

Hmm just caught sight of an Austrian national jersey near Cavendish.
The pack is big - countries have got to come up with something a bit more imaginative here, if they are going to stop the sprint.
I do sense that a fair few countries are prepare to take their chances with a sprint and the German sprint train looks very very strong to me. Big question though is whether Greipel has the strength still in his legs, on the Champ D'Elysees he seemed to be struggling.

Degenkold-Greipel is a better option than just Cav
just a pity that this finds another 50km after the box hill loops, it ruins the race imo
will still expect a Cance surge within the final 20km, pity everyone else expects it too
edit: i don't care for all this other crap Eurosport, just put the cycling on

Tony Martin has abandoned, by the way. Seems like he's not ready for 250 kms after his injury.

That's bad news for the Time-Trial. Looks like it's less one to fight for gold in the TT and to help Greipel. |

I've only seen Grabsch taking a few turns. Never saw Martin at the head of the peloton.

Gilbert to thin out the peloton for a Boonen win?
he won't need a conventional train, it's similar to a Classic |

Someone like that doesn't deserve to ride for his country. They should've given his spot to someone else.

Siutsou did that back in 2005. Riding for Petacchi at the worlds. Pissed me off to no end.

Didn't Wegelius ride for Italy once during the worlds? After that he didn't get selected anymore.

What could be done to prevent that ? Unless you'd fine riders (but then again, if the sponsors paid the fine, or if it's not on camera, what happens ?), there's nothing that can be done.
That's why national teams are absurd in a sport such as road cycling. |

We can easily end road cycling in the olympics. It's only been there (professionally) for a short time, and there's really no reason to continue it.
Getting rid of the worlds would be messing with cycling history though :\
