Thanks Spilak and Freitas! Indeed, this sprint was probably the best for us in this season. Great preperation, great leadout by Howard and Degenkolb and of course a nice acceleration by Matt Goss. Hope we can continue like that in the last stage. I will post stage 5 in the next hours.

The last stage in Andalucia is waiting for us. After the great sprint finish by Goss yesterday, we´re quite optimistic for today´s flat arrival. The final sprint might be easy but there´s still a small increase during the final kilometre so maybe the perfect stage for Matt Goss.

The favourites:

+++ Goss
++ Hunter, Sagan
+ Fernandez, Degenkolb, Kittel

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/HTC-HIGHROAD%202011/PCM0011-6.jpg
The last part of today´s stage was way harder as the break was very strong and still fast enough on the last kilometres. Our team squad tried everything to bring them back.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/HTC-HIGHROAD%202011/PCM0012-5.jpg
And it was successful! 3 kilometres were left and our team was able to catch the last escapes. Our sprint train was also prepared perfectly with Martin, Degenkolb and Matt Goss.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/HTC-HIGHROAD%202011/PCM0013-6.jpg
Degenkolb was completely exhausted on the last metres so no chance for him to stay with the best today. But we still had Matt Goss who made his final move. His acceleration was really impressive just like yesterday while Robert Hunter was in front.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/HTC-HIGHROAD%202011/PCM0014-4.jpg
That´s it! Second stage win in a row for Goss. What a great way to finish this stage race in Spain. Goss even took the sprinter´s jersey which made us a happy team for these moments.

i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc62/jolly_anutnes/daily/SWI.png GP dell´Insubria - Lugano

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/HTC-HIGHROAD%202011/1-30.jpg

The first one day classic for our team in 2011. This one takes place in the beautiful Lugano, Switzerland. As the race profile is quite tough, we´re not going for a bunch sprint today. Our team captain is Michael Albasini in his country. He already got a nice shape the last weeks and of course he´s quite motivated to get a nice position in Lugano.

The competition is quite interesting but not very hard. Roman Kreuziger, Tiralongo, Garzelli, Pineau, Efimkin or Pozzovivo might be the biggest contender in a hopefully nice stage final.

HTC- HIGHROAD

The favourites:

+++ Kreuziger
++ Albasini, Garzelli, Tiralongo
+ Pineau, Efimkin, Pozzovivo

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/HTC-HIGHROAD%202011/PCM0003-10.jpg
A big group with 15 riders were in front today. The most famous name there was probably Carrara. Today´s break was big but not good enough to stay in front as the pack brought them back with more than 30 kilometres to go.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/HTC-HIGHROAD%202011/PCM0004-10.jpg
Especially Astana and HTC - Highroad were doing the pace behind with success but the weather wasn´t that pretty.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/HTC-HIGHROAD%202011/PCM0005-8.jpg
On the last uphill it was Tiralongo, making the first serious move of today´s race. Michael Albasini couldn´t wait anymore as this was the last chance to get a nice gap to some sprinters.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/HTC-HIGHROAD%202011/PCM0006-9.jpg
His attack was quite successful so far. With only 3 kilometres to go, our leader was still in front but the pack came very fast from behind.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/HTC-HIGHROAD%202011/PCM0007-6.jpg
Kreuziger was leading the pack but it seemed to be too late as Albasini still had some energy left for the sprint.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/HTC-HIGHROAD%202011/PCM0008-9.jpg
That´s it! Albasini wins in his own country in an impressive way. Clarke and Pineau managed to finish on the podium, too. But that was a nice performance by our team and especially by the leader Albasini.

Thank you very much guys! I´m glad to see you all here. Since I´ve started my education, my time for PCM and other great things is way too short Sad
Anyway, I will try to keep you guys updated what HTC is doing. So today is one of those days with some time for PCM and because of that I will post another one day classic later Wink

The last race in February for HTC is in Belgium this time. The Omloop Het Nieuwsblad is a nice test for the following cobblestone classics in March and April. The competition in Belgium is almost the hardest you can imagine. Cancellara, Boonen and Hushovd might be the biggest favourites for today´s win.

The race isn´t that hard but with some nice cobblestone sections, we´re expecting an interesting and exciting final after 200 kilometres. Hopefully our team leaders will be able to play a nice role there.

Well, I think we´ve sent a nice and strong team to Belgium. Lars Ytting Bak and Bernie Eisel will lead our team with Hayden Roulston and John Degenkolb on their side. Peter Velits is over there to improve his level for some nice races in March and April just like Mark Cavendish, who is going for Milan-San Remo next month.

The favourites:

+++ Cancellara
++ Boonen, Hushovd
+ Chavanel, Maaskant, Breschel

After today´s break was caught early in the race, a smaller group with some famous and dangerous riders were able to get a nice gap to the pack. Devolder, Breschel, Hincapie and Van Avermaet kept the pace very high in this group so the pack with HTC and Saxobank had some problems to bring them back.

And they did it with success! But we lost Lars Ytting Bak on those hard kilometres as an important help for Eisel who did it in the final group. Van Summeren, Amorison and also Tom Boonen were some metres in front of the chasing group with Cancellara, Eisel and Hushovd.

Eisel had no chance to sprint for a good placement while Tom Boonen took the lead with only 1 kilometre to go. He looked like a save winner but Thor Hushovd came very fast from behind.

And he was the one in the end. Tom Boonen was passed by him on the last metres after a great acceleration. Eisel finished on a good 15th position.
