I like the game but I hope that they will find a way to set up a train for the sprint. When i am cavendish I want a train and not using the train of someone like boonen! With a sprinter you can only get a wheel of another sprinter..
And i don't get how to have a good attack. If you are in the first group do you have to ride with the circle button or with the fourside button? ( PS3 ) |

HAHA konami's ps2 version was so unrealistic. It resembled "Super Mario Cycling" more than the TDF.

i like the game, put 4 game pretentions, they should make in the upper corner a kinda moto view, so you can see what happends up front. a sprint, an atack or the finish of the winner. I mean its still a game, i would like to see whats the leading group doing, and if i let 1 of my guys atack lets say freire, i would like to see him sprint for the points, even if i dont control him. I think thta would be awesome |

Finally got this game yesterday - and played my first stage last night. Flat stage with Cavendish, to ease me in. There was a breakaway for the intermediate sprint, and I left it too late in the peloton to lead them over the line.
Come the end, once the breakaway had been caught, I just asked my whole team to protect me and we were all at the front of the peloton coming into the last km - timed my sprint ok but wasn't in a great starting position to launch. Managed to overtake most of the other sprinters and Farrar just beat me on the line (although I'm convinced I was over first!) - so 2nd on my very first stage isn't too bad.
Can't workout how to rally mind - what the difference between me changing my free effort and my rally effort? Surely it's the same? I can get my team to rally, but if I join in, do I have to peel off manually? It confused me. |

has anyone ever played as a domestique? That would be a cool vantage point. Then again, lke ncavin, you wouldn't be able to see your leader. |

I played as Jeanesson from FDJ and looked after Casar, it's not too bad.

Didn't get to play last night unfortunately, but my Mrs is away this weekend so I can play it without her claiming it's boring. There's a lot of depth to the game, I'm quite frustrated people who don't 'get' cycling are quick to condemn it. There's so many vantage points you can play as. Just need to work out how to relay properly in the game... |

I know what you mean about that. Every time I fire up the game to play, my wife complains about the heavy breathing noises that the cyclists make. She then rolls her eyes and says that she doesn't understand what I like about it. It's one of those things that it is not for everyone, but the people who do love it are passionate about it. |

Im still to win the TDF at all, Im with Euskaltel, I have had a few stage wins and held the Green Jersey for a while with Perez, he won 2 stages also.
Sanchez is placed well on GC and won on Plateau de Beille.

I fired this up again today after months on PCM 2011, mainly to see what the TdF stages would look like if I had a top end PC. I agree with ncavin the game has depth and it is not something you can just pick up and play and get instant gratification from. I gather there will be another instalment. Hope the developers manage to make improvements as just to provide it with an updated DB and new parcours won't really do. On the subject of the DB if they use a similar set of values as PCM 2011 why on anything other than a flat stage is Geraint Thomas incapable of staying with the peloton. I'm currently doing Stage 9 (scene of part 2 of last year's Etape, You know the one with the apocalyptic weather). Play the stage on PCM and Thomas is comfortable in the climbs, indeed it's only when you get to the Alpine stuff that he drops back, on the PS3 he is out of red and running out of yellow just trying to stay within reasonable contact of the rapidly disappearing peloton. Alternative views in race would be good also as I'm already bored of staring at pixellated cyclists backsides and a more subtle control mode which reflects more accurately the risks present in the peloton. Anyway back to young Mr Thomas now. |

The Thomas bug is probably fixed in the DLC database, i gave up on PS3 though when I found out there was a PC version |

I have now won the Tour de France with Samuel Sanchez, won the Green Jersey with Ruben Perez Moreno after being in many breaks, taking stage wins aswell. Also eliminating some of the major sprinters througn time limit. I also won a number of stages with Samuel Sanchez. Just need to win the Criterium International now and go through the levels on TDF mode
