Tour of Britain Stage 2 - Stoke-on-Trent
The second stage in Tour of Britain is hilly. Looks like something for Geraint Thomas and Ben Hermans. However the profile looks to easy to make any time gaps so the stage will not be decesive for the final GC.
Kristian House lost more than 2 minutes yesterday. Today he is in the break and takes 10 KoM points.
Ben Hermans tries an attack on the end of the stage but he is brought back by the bunch. He neither won nor lost anything on this move but he showed his rivals that he is in good shape.
Luke Rowe takes Thomas into a good posistion and the sprint starts. Rob Ruijgh (Vacansoleil) is just behind Thomas.
Ruijgh is tired and doesn't comes any closer so Geraint Thomas wins stage 2. He also takes the lead in the GC, but he is on the same time as Haddou (Europcar).

Tour of Britain Stage 3 - Newtown - Swansea
Stage 3 in Tour of Britains is the toughest stage. There is a climb after 117 kms of riding, called Black Mountain, and the the stage finish at the top of Constitution Hill in Swansea. Hermans, Thomas and Kennaugh most be up there if they want to win the race!
Kristian House attacks! He wears the KoM jersey and is looking for more points today. Hopefully, the break will hold over Black Mountain. Charles Wegelius is another interesting cyclist in the break.
Ben Hermans attacks in the climb of Black Mountain. Rob Ruijgh (Vacansoleil), Emanuele Sella (Androni Giocattoli), Geraint Thomas and Peter Kennaugh follows him. Ruijgh seems to be in great shape because when he takes over the pace Thomas and Kennaugh has to drop the group.
Hermans, Ruijgh and Sella capture the break in the dowhill, but then Hermans crash! Oh no! Suddenly we only got House in the first group!
Kennaugh and Thomas, who dropped in the climb, waits for Hermans. They try to help their captain.
Hermans, Kennaugh and Thomas are caught by the bunch and the whole team is trying to catch the break, with Ruijgh and Sella. They are able to spot them when they enter Constitution Hill!
But the bunch is to far away and Ruijgh wins the stage, while Sella is 2nd and House 4th. Ruijgh takes the leader jersey as well, since Hermans, Thomas and Kennaugh finishes 39 second behind. He also takes 20 bonus seconds.

Tour of Britain Stage 4 - Minehead - Teignmouth
Rob Ruigh is more than a minute ahead of our guys in the GC after yesterday's stage. We have a small opportunity to take the lead back by take bonus with Thomas or attack with Hermans and Kennaugh. We will try both tactics.
Peter Kennaugh attacks from the start. He is ridiing solo over the first hills and takes 32 pts in the KoM. However, the gap never become big enough to take back the leader jersey or the stage win.
Androni Giocattoli and Vacansoleil works together in the bunch to catch Kennaugh. It seems like they cooperate to beat us!
The road goes up and down in the final kms and Hermans attacks. Rob Ruijgh tries to follow but Hermans sails away to a stage win and 20 bonus seconds.
Hermans wins the stage! Thomas is 3rd and neither Ruijgh nor Sella takes ny bonus. Hermans is now 5th in the GC, 51 s behind, and Thomas is 3rd, 43 s behind.

Tour of Britain Stage 5 - Tavistock - Glastonbury
The last hilly stage is maybe the last chanche for Hermans and Kennaugh to take the lead from Rob Ruijgh as well. If they fail today, Thomas is our only hope.
Kennaugh attacks from the start. Thomas Vedel Kvist, Karl Menzies, Phil Zajicek, and Alex Coutts joins him. The 6 riders coporate well and the gap growns fast.
The bunch is splitted behind. Thomas, Hermans, House and Rowe are able to follow. Rob Ruijgh is also here and he looks really strong today!
Francesco Failli attacks but we let him go. Rob Ruigh starts to pace to catch Failli and he splits the group. Hermans and Thomas are able to follow the hard pace. However, Kennaugh rides away from his friends in the break and is now solo in the lead.
Failli joins Kennaugh in the 1st group. Behind, in the 2nd group, Hermans and Thomas tries to attack but Ruijgh is able to follow all atempts. Sella is benefited by all attacks and the irregular pace. He finally joins the 2nd group.
Hermans attacks once again and this time Ruijgh has to surrender. Hermans joins Kennaugh and Failli, but the gap isn't big!
Kennaugh, Hermans and Failli finishes 36 seconds ahead of Ruijgh. Kennaugh also wins the stage while a tired Hermans is 3rd and Thomas 4th.
With 3 flat stages left, Hermans is 7 second behind Ruijgh. Kennaugh is 9 seconds behind and Thomas 43. I think we still have a small chance to win this!

Tour of Britain Stage 6 - King's Lynn - Great Yarmouth
Flat stage with four intermediate sprints, which means 24 seconds if you win them all.
Ben Hermans wins the first sprint and takes 6 bonus seconds, which means that he is viritual only 1 second behind Rob Ruijgh in the GC. Hermans continues to ride and gains a gap after the sprint.
A couple of other riders joins Hermans but that isn't important. Hermans continues to take bonus seconds and is viritual in the lead with 13 seconds when the bunch is catching the break. If he only manages to stay with the bunch, he will take the overall lead.
Geraint Thomas wins the stage and behind him Hermans manages to stay whitin the pack. Hermans is now the new leader, 13 seconds in front of Ruijgh.
I forgot to export but here is the overall standings:

There is 2 more flat stages in Britain. After that it's time for the world championships in Valkenburg, and then we finish our season with some semi-classics.

Tour of Britain Stage 7 - Bury St. Edmunds - Colchester
Flat stage, so we just have to control the competition and make a good sprint with Thomas to defend the jersey. Or will a breakaway hold of?
Kristian House is in the break. It's a good tactic because the team doesn't have to work. No other team works either so the break seems to hold of.
House is tired after 7 hard days and only manages 5th. House is beaten by 3 canadians. Rob Britton (Bissel) wins. Michael Berling(Glud & Marstrand - LRØ) is 2nd and David Veilleux (Team Europcar) is 3rd. The third canidian is Kevin Lacombe (Spidertech) at 4th.

Tour of Britain Satge 8 - London - London (Final stage!)
The course of the final stage is the same as for the Olympics (read page 8, post #147). The british failed at the Olympics, will they do the same today? However, it looks like Hermans has secured his win in the overall so we should be happt anyway.
The bunch stays together all day. Every attack is chased down by us (Rapha) and after that we make the lead out for Thomas. Thomas end this fanastic Tour of Britain by winning the stage in London! He wins in front of Andrea Grendene (Team Type 1).
With 5 stage wins, overall win, points, KoM an team classifications we are more than proud over this tour. Especially since we took back the lead after an crash with Hermans on stage 3.

World Championships ITT - Valkenburg, Netherlands
Geraint Thomas is the first rider from Rapha on the course. He is in great shape (~95pts) and does his best time trail ever when he finishes 5th, only 32 seconds behind todays winner and 14 seconds from the bronze.
Richie Porte is the second rider from Rapha who enters the course. He isn't in the same shape as Thomas but he rides fast anyway and takes the silver!
Bradley Wiggins season have been like a roller-coaster. He won the British Road Race, but he failed in the Olympics and the British Time Trail. It seems like he has lost his ability to time trail since he fails today as well. He is only 22nd.
Olympic Champion Luis Léon Sánchez is probably the best time trailist in the world at the moment and wins the World Championships as well. The legend who did the same in 2008, Fabian Cancellara, is 3rd.

World Championships RR - Valkenburg, Netherlands
Up and down, steep hill and technical downhill selections. Welcome to Valkenburg friends! The race will be nervous and hard to predict. Gilbert, Cunego and Valverde will probably be up there. And issue a warning for Geraint Thomas since he is in really great shape, even better than two days ago when he was 5th in the time-trail.

As usual there is a break in this World Championship, and as always they also allowed a great gap before they are caught. Austrailia, Russia, Denmark and Portugal have one rider each in the break. Belgium works to catch them.
The break is caught but nobody attacks!? Cavendish and the rest of the Britain team are able to follow the bunch over the final climb, and with 6km to go we start the lead out. Kennaugh is in the front. Thomas is on his wheel and Cavendish is just behind them.
The sprint goes uphill Cauberg, and the hill is to steep for Cav. However, I am only happy about that fact, because it makes it possible for Geraint Thomas to take the win! And he does, he flies the last kms and will be riding in the rainbow jesey nexet season. Such a great revange for Britain after the fail at the Olympics.

Thanks, it was very nice to win with Thomas since he rides for Rapha and comes from Britain/Wales. The jersey will look like this:

September Rankings:
Continental Tour - Riders
Geraint Thomas leads the Continental Tour. Porte and Hermans are behind him, but they are riding for Rapha as well so we will probably win this.
Continentl Tour - Teams
We are in the top of the Continental Tour, and no other team are even close.
CQ Ranking - Team
We have made a leap in CQ rankings and it seems like we have secured our promotion to Pro Tour for next season! It's all because of this fantastic month with a victory in Tour of Britain with Hermans and the worlds for Thomas.
CQ Rankings - Riders
It looks like Damiano Cunego will win this one. However, Geraint Thomas is our best rider placed as 20th on CQ ranking table.

Thomas wins the Continetal rankings ahed of his two team mates Hermans and Porte.
We are promoted to Pro Tour! We acheived our goal and I think that's a good way to finish this story. I will may continue sometime because it would have been fun to shine in the Pro Tour with Rapha but at the moment I don't think I have time for a team story.
