Team NetApp 2011 - April 2011
Batista15
Thanks guys! It was a great win for our team Smile

Batista15
Another one day classic but this time with another team squad. Del Nero will be our captain today with Cozza and Schorn as main protector.
The Grand Prix Pino Cerami is a harder race this time with a hilly part a few kilometres before the finish.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Team%20NetApp/1-23.jpg
Favourites for today are Van Hummel, Leezer, Sutton and Matthews. We will see if Del Nero is able to keep it up with those guys.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Team%20NetApp/PCM0018-1.jpg
When the sprint began, our captain Del Nero wasn´t in the best position so far. Rabobank´s position was great with Leezer and Matthews in front.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Team%20NetApp/PCM0019-2.jpg
Michael Matthews was really fast in the end while his team mate Leezer was just behind him. Matthews´speed was great and it seemed that no one could stop him today.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Team%20NetApp/PCM0020-1.jpg
Great double for Rabobank today! Matthews in front of Leezer and Van Hummel. Del Nero missed the Top 10 in the end but we´re happy with a 11th place.

Alberto Contador won this tour on the last stage with a good time trial. It seems his shape is better than a few weeks ago but there´s still a long way to go to the Tour de France 2011. But anyway, congrats to his win!

Great double for Tom Boonen with Cancellara following on the podium. Gert Steegmans is again in the Top 10 as main help for Boonen. Great performance by Quick Step and of course Tom Boonen, who is the new Pro Tour leader in front of Cancellara.

Well, we´re still in April but we already signed a great guy. He´s called Josh Rowe from Australia and he will be our trainee in a few months. He´s leading the U-23 rankings at the moment and I´m sure he´s going to have a great career.

This one is great. Never had such a good talent with a green average.
Looks like the new Tom Boonen.

The best puncheur won there but Boasson Hagen following is a big surprise I think! Simon Gerrans did a great job, too.

The last race in April will be in Turkey. 8 stages are waiting for us with a nice prologue and 2 mountain stages. We´ve sent a very strong team again with Jesus Del Nero as team captain. Cozza and Baumann are going for some sprints this week.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Team%20NetApp/1-24.jpg

The biggest favourite for the overall is again Rigoberto Uran! I don´t know if he is following our team in every stage race but this time we really want to challenge him. The first stage, a short time trial, is the first chance to get some seconds to him.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Team%20NetApp/2-18.jpg
Some favourites for today: Cozza, Del Nero, Kaisen, Dowsett and Sieberg.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Team%20NetApp/PCM0040.jpg
Marcel Sieberg was the first one, setting a good time so far with 8´50. This time was the best for a long time today.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Team%20NetApp/PCM0063.jpg
Our first hope for today was Cozza with a nice time. Pity, only 2 seconds to Sieberg in the end.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Team%20NetApp/PCM0067.jpg
Another favourite for the stage win was Dowsett. He was really fast but he finally got the same time like Cozza.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Team%20NetApp/PCM0070.jpg
Del Nero was one of the overall favourites in front of the stage. He set a great time today with only 3 seconds to Sieberg.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Team%20NetApp/PCM0071.jpg
Last but not least, Rigoberto Uran. As we expect he lost some seconds today. 7 seconds to Del Nero in the end and Marcel Sieberg takes the stage win in front of Cozza and Dowsett.

Second stage after the short prologue yesterday is quite flat one. The sprinters might create a nice stage final and hopefully Baumann is also in front.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Team%20NetApp/PCM0002-1.jpg
First of all, it was Barta got the first KoM points of this tour which brought him the jersey for at least tomorrow. Good job by him!

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Team%20NetApp/PCM0003-3.jpg
With only 5 kilometres to go, the group were already a bit smaller but they were still in front. Barta was there, too!

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Team%20NetApp/PCM0004-3.jpg
Barta sprinted for the stage win but the pack came really fast with Baumann in an amazing position so far.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Team%20NetApp/PCM0005-2.jpg
But it´s a great win for Jan Barta today! KoM jersey and the stage win, what a great 2nd stage for NetApp.

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Team%20NetApp/PCM0007.jpg
And it became even better, because Baumann mananged to finish just behind his team mate today! The first double for NetApp....amazing stage for us.

The third stage was quite harder with many hard climbs and a tricky stage final. Uran should be the favourite there but you never know...

As we expected Uran made the first move on the last bigger uphill of today´s stage. His advantage was about 20 seconds to the first chasing group with Del Nero.
On the last kilometres they all came together but Uran was still in the best position to win this stage with easy. Geschke and Clarke finished behind him. Del Nero came in with the same time which means he´s thid in the overall now, 13 seconds behind Uran! Jan Barta got another 26 points today for his KoM jersey, he´s still leading there.
