Pellizotti2
Thanks a lot, roturn and tsmoha. Really appreciated.

Stage 15
i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h416/vNibali/vuelta_stage_15.png
Pamplona > Canfranc-Estación: 172.6km

The fifteenth stage of this Vuelta is definitely the hardest so far. The riders willl be taking the start in Pamplona before crossing the border over to France via Puerto de Larrau. In France they will be climbing the first category Pas de Lamayo climb and a smaller fourth category climb. After that they will turn south again and cross the border over another 1st category climb, Collada de Somport. After that climb, they have a short downhill to the finish in Canfranc-Estación, just south of the border. The last kilometer will be uphill at approximately 5%, so the stage might be decided there, if not already on Somport.

Again a nice stage Smile I love your slopes! I can already say, that I will use this variant in my story this year Wink Keep it up, it's great!

roturn
+1

I really loved your Giro variant.
So this Vuelta will definitely be in my story this season.

@tsmoha: Great to hear you like the stages. It's also nice that you like the slopes, as I put down a lot of work to keep them nice and steady. It will be very nice to see it in your great story later in the season. Grin

@roturn: Thanks! I'm glad you liked my Giro, as I wasn't completely satisfied with it myself. It will be great to see the Garmin boys dominating the Vuelta on my stages. Pfft

Stage 17
i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h416/vNibali/vuelta_stage_17.png
La Cortinada - Andorra Arcalís: 15.3km (ITT)

The Vuelta continues with a mountain time-trial, starting in La Cortinada, just north of Andorra La Vella and finishing up in Arcalís. The first half is quite flat, before the final climb ramps up and continues up to 2200m. The Arcalís climb has been used before. The last time was in the Tour 2009, that time as a road stage.

Stage 18
i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h416/vNibali/vuelta_stage_18.png
Mollerussa - Vinaròs: 184.4km

Stage 18 starts in Mollerussa after a rest day to get down from the hard stages in Andorra. This stage will be another chance for the sprinters, as there is no difficulties on the profile. The finish line is in the city of Vinaròs, at the east coast of Spain and just by the sea. After this stage there is another flat one, before the GC contenders gets a last opportunity to fight it out for the overall win on stage 20.

I really recommend checking out the stage 17 and 18. Graphic-wise, those two are probably the best ones I have ever created.

Checked Stage 17! It's indeed nice graphics and looks like a beautiful (and of course challenging Wink) mountain-timetrial! Well done!

I couldn't download Stage 18.. it's maybe a wrong link?

roturn
Same here. You obviously forgot the specific code behind the URL. Wink
But so far looking very nice.

Stage 19
i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h416/vNibali/vuelta_stage_19.png
Vinaròs - Xàtiva: 219.6km

Another flat stage before the GC contenders will battle it out on stage 20. This stage is really easy, without any actual difficulties. The only thing that might tire the sprinters a bit is that the final kilometres is slightly uphill. Not very steep, though. Mass sprint stage.

Stage 20
i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h416/vNibali/vuelta_stage_20.png
L'Alcúdia de Crespins - Alto de Aitana: 167.2km

The last chance for the GC contenders to make some difference. 90% of the stage is flat, though. The difficult part comes when they reach the foot of the 17 kilometer Alto de Aitana climb. Aitana was used most recently in the 2009 Vuelta, in a stage won by Damiano Cunego. The rider who owns the red jersey at the end of this stage can declare himself as the winner of the Vuelta a España, since the last stage is a flat one for the sprinters.

Here's a profile of how steep the final climb is:

i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h416/vNibali/vuelta_stage_20_1.png

Last stage probably coming up tomorrow, as well as a pack with all the stages.
