Really ? Must have been tiny
Still would have won it without that hill.
I wouldn't be surprised if Gilbert won at Champs-Élysées like that

Boonen seemed to give up as he noticed that he couldn't catch Gilbert so the last comment was a bit pointless.. |

I didn't watch, but it must have been, since he's the only Belgian there. |

There was definately a hill, with cobbles in the end too. But still, he had Boonen immediately responding, and Boonen was on his wheel at the beginning of the attack. He simply powered away from him, with Boonen having the advantage of having the wheel to Gilbert. |

I'm glad for Chavanel, it was one of his greatest dreams to wear the nationnal champ jersey, and he really deserved to win it at least one.
I wish him a year as awesome as Voeckler had with the jersey on.
We always have great nationnal champions =D
A bit dissapointed by europcar's tactic how could they with about 20 riders let Chavanel win with only Pineau to help. No sign of Kern Charteau or Gautier, just Rolland Hurel and Le Floch in the break were there to help Thomas...
And what a promising rider is Anthony Roux! he can be an excellent sprinter and pass easily big hills.
I quite like Chavanel too, and he won it in an impressive way. He's a really deserving national champion, although a win by Voeckler or Roux would have made me happy as well.
But I disagree about us always getting a great champion. Champion was by no way the French rider of the season, rather the man of that one race, and during previous years, Brad, Cappelle, Barthe, and François Simon to some extent, weren't that deserving (I'm only recalling the years that I can remind well enough). |

Yea, though he could have shown some fighting spirit and fight for second. Humilitating loss again.

Watching Rojas climbing with Clentie is like a déjà vu of the age of the climbing fat asses. |
