@CrueTrue: Offcourse, that makes sense. But after all, this is just speculations, it's hopeless to judge somebody on something that MIGHT have happened.
The only chance Contador has to escape a 2-year dopingban is to prove his innocence in that the meat was filled with dope.
In my eyes, there are two ways he can do that: find a piece of the meat in a junkyard somewhere or get the farmer to announce that he dopes his cows. Both ways will be quite hopeless to implent. |

It's speculation, yes, but so is Contador's explanation.
Fact is that he's used a forbidden substance. |

As the Scott Moninger case showed, proving something you ate was contaminated will only get your sentence reduced to 1 year or so.
Fact is, the letter of the law is clear: You are responsible for what's in your body.

If he does get banned, Schleck wins the Tour.
Now, now, no sniggering at the back there. |

That's one of the reasons why I think he'll be cleared up. Schleck is clearly doomed to be a perpetual 2nd, just like Evans, but without WC.
Banning AC and giving the TdF to Schleck could create a space-time instability caused by defying destiny. |

Maybe he still finds a little piece of the meat in his stomache.
Or a anonymous letter with a little Clenbuterol meat will reach the authorities.
Don`t see him proving his innocence, but don`t see the UCI banning him for longer than a few month. (shortly before next GT would be a compromise for both sides )

Alessandro Colo (ISD) also was tested positive for clenbuterol this year. CONI suggests a 1-year ban.
I don't see why Contador should get a longer ban. |

And Fuyu Li is set for a 2-year-ban. What's your point? |

Yes! Finally - about a 4 years later. I definetly hope he will get banned for 2 years, like Fuyu Li.

Didn't knew he was already banned. Then i don't understand why they get different suspensions. |

He hasn't been banned yet, but I'm pretty sure that a 2-year-ban has been requested. |

The blood transfusion theory has popped on L'Equipe.fr as well now.
They've found signs of transfusion thanks to some very thin plastic particles coming from the blood pocket. Or maybe that also came from the meat blister ? |

That said, there are plenty of other clenbuterol cases.
Tennis player Karol Beck, banned for two years.
Rugby player Reni Maitua, banned for two years.
Swimmer Ouyang Kunpeng, banned for life.
But as you say, there are also cases of shorter bans. Jessica Hardy, American swimmer, received a 1-year-ban.
Edit: Cycling-wise, our good friend mr. Abdoujaparov also tested positive for clenbuterol, but I'm not sure what kind of ban he received. He retired after the positive test.

Swimming is like one of the most scandalous sports around, doping wise (federations, athletes, etc. they're all in it, doing it or covering it). I could develop if there was a point in it, or you may just trust my words. |

Well, it was quite obvious during the Olympics, so there's no need to elaborate on that
(Yeah, right, a new swim-suit makes you able to beat the World Records by a lot of seconds ... it has nothing to do with CERA (?) which was popular at the same time )

I'm not a fan of Contador but I really think he made a big supid mistake that cannot be repaired .
Pain is temporary. Quitting lasts forever.

I am in utter shock, a few months ago he got praise and praise now he been thrown to the hounds before a full investigation into this has begun, I am not a fan of Contador never have been since he was caught in Peurto, but I can't seen him deliberatly doping he has too much to loose and why would he, hw knows he is the best climber in the world, I just can't see it.

Counter-Argument: Who is to say he didnt gain that by doping?
