I like the difference between last year and this year. The pictures of the entire Astana team around Contador, clapping and saluting him really put last year's RadioAstana-behaviour into perspective. |

I must agree with this now, it seems more awkward then I thought it was at the time. So much for the Contador has no team help this year idea. |

Best Rider: Alberto Contador (Contador=Schleck in mountains, Contador>Schleck in time trials)
Best sprinter: Mark Cavendish (though I believe Petacchi and Hushovd are better points racers)
Best domestique: Team Astana members (they were the difference Contador needed)
Best stage: Stage 17 (Schleck vs. Contador for stage and Tour, seperating them from Menchov, Sanchez, and co.)
Amusing moment of the race: organizers going crazy over RadioShack's jerseys on Stage 20
Best team: Quick Step (they accomplished a lot without Boonen, swept all the main jerseys at one point)
Surprise of the tour: Ryder Hesjedal is the latest Garmin rider to shock us all, saving their tour after the losses of Vande Velde and Farrar
Most decisive stage: Stage 15 (Contador attacks when he sees Schleck's mechanical problem)
Worst rider: Bradley Wiggins (wasn't his best stage on the cobbles?)
Worst team: Saxo Bank (they were not prepared to save Schleck in the mountains after they lose one rider)
Worst stage: Stage 2 (thanks Fabian)
Most boring team: Team Milram (the only interesting thing, really, was Ciolek acting as a lead out man) |

If offense is the best defence, does it mean that defence is the worst defence?

Hmm don't know what to say about that one. Personally I don't like Saxo Bank, eventhough I'm danish, but 4 stagewins, 2nd GC, winner of the white jersey, counting 12 days in yellow and 14 in white. Totally disagree with you. The team did absolutely what they had to. Fränk was meant to be the last helper. Nicki Sørensen did well doing work in the start of the tough stages. Matti Breschel worked far above his capabilities climbing. Chris Anker did what he was supposed to (Was better than last year). Jakob Fuglsang did worse than you could expect from him, but calling the team a failure based upon Fuglsangs lack of climbing on the stages is a bit harsh imo.

Yeah but I personally had Monfort for a top 20 GC, and some attacks. The only stage in which he placed himself well (Besides doing some chase for Cavendish) was the TT yesterday.
I doesn't say he suck, but I expected far more from him to be honest.
