Il grande Philippe! In this rythm he will win all the ardenne classics. Can't wait for La Fleche!
PS: Cadel wasted his energy for jerk Kroon. He pays for his modesty ( a world champion working for a jerk like Kroon). Inadmissible!
... arghhh...wtf ! I hate these fans, who thinks that their favourite rider should always be team leader for race. Who knows Cauberg better than Kroon, man? I'm sure that in FW and LBL Kroon will help Evans, so calm down boy.
And i wanna see ACs fans reaction, if Gasparotto will be Astanas leader for FW. |

Great Ride by Hesjedal or as I like to call him "Mr. Weight of a nation". I never though that a result this good could possibly be true. Keep it up for the Canadians.

Gasparotto wouldn't be Astana's leader in Fleche Wallone. He doesn't take part in FW or LBL. He goes home to prepare for Giro.

Mendrisio was on hills i guess..
Well, nobody said that Evans is a bad hill rider, but he can`t be team leader in every race and like a few guys told here Kroon is living quite close to the Cauberg and he is good in hills too. Evans can`t get good results without helpers like Kroon. So he must help these riders in races like today.
This is a give and take between the riders. Otherwise a team couldn`t do a good job over the season. |

Strange the way that ended up finishing.
Great for Gilbert - though a little mystified that Schleck and Cunego didn't feature on the Cauberg. |

Everyone was extremely dead.
Saxo Bank made the race so hard they even killed their own leaders.
The ones who had hidden themselves the entire race, like Hesjedal and De Waele, had good finishes.
Which makes Gilbert more uberhuman, he did so many efforts and was still the strongest by far |

Well, I must admit today was a good race. Ususally Amstel is my least favourite of the 3 Ardennes classics. It may not be any more.
Still, Fleche is usually my favourite so I hope for a good race on Wednesday.
Also, Gilbert = machine.

Why is Fleche your favorite? That is usually the most boring race in the entire year except for the final 2km |

I just timed it from a youtube video; It took Gilbert c. 1:29 to climb the Cauberg. That's almost twice as fast as I did yesterday (2:49). (now go on and say I was just being slow rather than him being fast ) |

Not sure why it's my favourite, just is.
And the entire year point, beg to differ on that.

Doddy13, Fleche is my favourite classic too, along with Flanders. And yeah, maybe Kroon knows the climbs better than Cadel but it doesn't matter if you don't have the legs (see last year's Amstel with Dekker being Lotto's leader). Anyway, maybe I was a little unfair with Kroon..

Flanders is my favourite race of the year, that includes the GT's.
I can't explain why, but I finally made my journey to see it this year, it didn't dissapoint.

I'm happy that at least one of Belgium's superstars is winning something. I really hoped Ivanov could do the double, but it was obvious he was done on the Cauberg. Brilliant effort by Gilbert, nonetheless.

He was ninth, so he obviously did have the legs.
Anyway. Apparently I was the only one left disappointed today. Not by the result - go Belgium! - but the race itself ... I just never got into it. I'm thinking it was grumpiness combined with +200 of cycling foreplay. |

Finally got around to watch the re-live on Eurosport (which they postponed twice...). For some reason, they didn't show what happened between 30 and 20 km to goal, but other than that, excellent race.
Awesome win for Gilbert. Truly deserved |

I also just saw the race but on youtube. That was a sick acceleration by Gilbert. Unmatchable speed and power on the climb. He's unbeatable at hilly classics.

I watched a bit of the replay and heard this quote from the UK commentators(i think). They were going on a rant about the how parked cars are like obsticles for the riders and how it relates to mini golf "You have Golf, and Crazy Golf. This is like Crazy Cycling" |
