Russian National Championship
Second year in a row my national championships were held in Cheboksary native city of our most successful champion, Serguei Ivanov. And, of course, everybody expected him to win again.
Of, course, before road race it was Time Trial, where I rode just for fell my legs. I finished 15th, with over 5 minutes lag after new Russian ITT Champion, Vladimir Karpets. Next day I was watching my good friend Olga Khudenko winning her first national road title in sprint style.
And the last thing in the program was Men Road Race. Just from the start attacks begun. With only one strong team (Katyusha of course) you can not look for a victory from the bunch, so I tried two times to break. Katyusha boys were too strong and aggressive. They didn't let me make even one minute of advantage. They were too scarred of me I think as they tried to catch my wheel every time I attacked.
At the end I surrenders and decided to see what will be, but Michail Ignatiev was gone in front right from my wheel. With their men in front Katyusha riders didn't pursuit, and there weren't any other team that could do it.
Ignatiev was gone. So, we just had to fight for second place. I made some attacks, but Katyusha didn't want to let me go again. So, I just spent most of my strength for unsuccessful attacks. I finished 7th and first four (!) positions were won by Katyusha.

New team members
Just few minutes passed after great news that we gained. Two new team members will ride for us next year. First it's Allan Davis, great Australian sprinter. I looking forward for him in my team.
Second one is Roman Kreuziger. I don't know what to say. I had never had good relations with him, we were the biggest opponents some time ago and he was always winning in stage races. Well, I had more stage victories, but he was and he is very good in TT.
As I said, I have no words to describe that. I think we have to wait and see how we will corporate.

Also team signed contracts with Juan-Jse Haedo and Kontantin Sivtsov.
I am happy to know that my friend, Ilya Gorodnychev also will be wearing our jersey next year.

The winner today was [I think Tombola will be happy wit that] Frederik Veuchelen from Vacansoleil team. He made fantastic move right from last corner and nobody could match him.
He's can't sprint so very good! But also I nice Giro for you! Hopefully you will get along with Roman, otherwise just let him do the small stages
Spoiler or punch him in the face....

Ok, now it's time to little poll. It sseems that we have very big oppotrunity to be promoted to ProTour next year. Personnally I don't want to do that, so I want to ask you all:
- Should I made changes in db before season end to stay in Continental status
- Should I be promoted
or
- Should I loose points in game, making bad results?

I prefer this one...
"Should I made changes in db before season end to stay in Continental status"
I like being the underdog

With Kreuziger and Davis in the squad, I think you should be a ProTour team. |

So be it... Jedi
We'll see what will happen. By the way, only Davis will leave us if we won't be promoted

Promotion. Beyond the freak firing of SN in his DFL career, I hate it when people edit the DB during stories. |

As I said in the interview, no doping test was positive, so ...
Ok, back to racing.
International Tour of Austria
It was the race I came to win. The team was not the best to be honest, only Ochoa was here to help me in mountains. But they really made all that they could.
My friends made suitable pace on both mountain stages.
I was in good shape, I was main favorite, I did want to win, my team-mates were like madmen... I don't know what happened. In mountains, in my terrain, my best finish was only 3rd on second mountain stage. And I loosed a minute in mountains.
Of course, with that lag I couldn't fight for victory with Moorenhout. He even overtook me in ITT stage
As a result - only 5th overall place. It was humiliating.
1 | Koos Moerenhout | Rabobank | 25h56'17 | 2 | Eduard Vorganov | Team Katusha | + 1'37 | 3 | Kanstantsin Siutsou | Team HTC - Columbia | + 1'44 | 4 | Danny Pate | Garmin - Transitions | + 2'59 | 5 | Max Belaschov | Androni Giocattoli | + 3'01 | 6 | Dries Devenyns | Quick·Step | + 3'15 | 7 | Branislau Samoilau | Quick·Step | + 3'43 | 8 | Tejay Van Garderen | Team HTC - Columbia | + 4'05 | 9 | Trent Lowe | Garmin - Transitions | + 4'07 | 10 | Pavel Brutt | Team Katusha | + 4'27 |
Right now I heading to Cairo, Egypt with my new girlfriend to have some rest before second half of a season.
