Barcelona always sell young talents and are generally shit in the transfer market.
The sold Fabregas when he was young, now they've sold Giovani. They're selling Eto'o, they sold Riquelme, etc.
They are also shit at buying players; Gudjohnsen (has done nothing since he joined); Henry (waste of £18million); Albertini (way too old); Ezquerro (generally shit); Sylvinho (oh god)
The list goes on and on, they are awful in the transfer market and always have been, they rest on the fact that their academy is sensationally good. They've produced, Fabregas, Giovani, Bojan, Puyol, Valdes, Oleguer, Xavi and many other names I can't remember.
They do have some good deals, like Ronaldinho from PSG in 2003, Eto'o from Real Madrid in 2005 (I think), Deco was great as well. But now they're selling them all.
---------
Also, it appears that Aston Villa have finally caved in and accepted Liverpool's bid of £14million for Gareth Barry. I'm not sure where he'll fit in to be honest, who will he kick out of the starting 11, Gerrard? Mascherano?

Well they didn't sell Fabregas.. Arsenal stole Fabregas from Barcelona .. Because in spain you aren't allowed to sign player that aren't 17 or older.. But in England there aren't these rules.. Therefore Arsenal could sign Fabregas (almost for free)... Riquelme wasn't good for Barcelona so I can understand why they sold him .. But he's good now.. Selling Eto'o is the right thing .. He isn't his old self and he may be stuck in Barcelona.. They bought Eto'o from Mallorca hehe not Real Madrid But Eto'o played for Real when he was 20-21 years old (I think).
Gudjohnson is a joke and when I heard they bought him I was shocked .. Sylvinho is a shitty player don't know why they bought him either.. A good thing though is that they've bought Pique back from Manchester United..
Ezquerro was for free but they shouldn't have bought him.. He is shit.. Albertini was too old when they bought him..
Henry is a good player but he underperforms for Barca.. Don't know why.. Maybe because they use him as Winger :S
Btw you forgot a huge name that's from the academy .. MESSI |

I was in Spain when Barcelona bought Eto'o and when I'm in Spain I buy the "Sport" newspaper (Spanish newspaper devoted to Barcelona) every day, and the news was all over there saying that Eto'o have signed from Real Madrid and Barcelona were going to pay in instalments over 5 years until the fee reached about £20million. However I believe they did give a little mention of Mallorca but not much because Real Madrid got 50% of the fee and owned 50% of Eto'o and they preferred to think of him as a Madrid player, so I did as well

Well Eto'o is an old Real Madrid player .. But they bought him from Mallorca.. The media just loves to call him a former Real Madrid player because of the rivalry between the two clubs
The reason why Real Madrid got 50 % of the transfer fee was due to an agreement made between Mallorca and Real Madrid when Mallorca bought Eto'o from Real Madrid .. |

Ashton; I know about the agreement and the media didn't call him a fomer-Madrid player. They said that he was bought from Real Madrid. They said this because Madrid owned 50% of him and because of the rivalry they said Barcelona bought him from Real Madrid. It was like co-ownership in Italy. Both teams own 50% of the player but one team lets him play for the other. In essence, Barcelona bought him from both Madrid and Mallorca

No, they have huge profits each year. All the players want either more money or just a change, and Barcelona don't want to shell out more money to keep them because they're extremley tight when it comes to spending money.

They're selling all their profiles because they are "past their best" .. They've won everything in Barcelona and they haven't the "killer" instinct anymore..
Like Deco, Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Gudjohnson (has never been good - i'm happy that he'll probably leave),
Barcelona needs to build up a new team to win some titles again
Barcelona had a huge debt (around 90 - 100 million £ ) before Juan Laporta became President for the club.. Now he turned their economy around and they have profit every year as Addy said.. Their economy is better than ever but they still have debt aroung 40 millon £ - anyway it isn't a problem as long as they make profit |

Roque Santa Cruz is "at the centre of a Manchester tug of war". Santa Cruz has said that Man Utd are trying to sign him, and Mark Hughes has stated since he took over at Man City that he wants to bring Roque and David Bentley to City.
I think City have the advantageB)
------
I worked it out and Cristiano Ronaldo won't get £300,000 a week wages if he joins Real It's actually only just under £290,000 a week (after tax).
Real will give him a 5 year contract worth £75million and they will also pay Man Utd £75million to buy Ronaldo.
-----
Hughes' first interview as Man City manager he stated the usual things like "Man City can be as big as Man Utd...". He also says that he loves the amount of cash he will be able to spend.
Also, if the club could sign Ronaldinho and he wanted to join, Hughes won't just sign him straight away, he will make sure he is right for the team before saying yes. I guess this is in light of the fact Ronaldinho never turned up to training at Barcelona, and Hughes won't stand for that.

Nope, he gets £300,000 post-tax. So in reality, he'll get paid a little more, then tax deducted to give him £300,000

Everywhere I've read (2/3 places) say it's £75million over 5years (£300,000), after tax
It even has "after tax" bolded where I've read it
Anyway it's around £300,000 which is stupid to say the least.

Man City expect to complete the transfer of Jo within the next 7 days. He will sign for around £20million
---
Barcelona have accepted Man City's offer for Ronaldinho, now all they need to do is agree personal terms and, the thing I think Ronaldinho will be let down on, pass a medical.
Manchester City negotiators are flying into Rio De Janeiro to discuss personal terms with Ronaldinho, after Barcelona have given Man City the go-ahead to speak to the Brazilian maestro, according to City executive chairman Garry Cook.
He met with Kia Joorabchian yesterday, along with Mark Hughes, to work out the details of the deal that will make Ronaldinho the highest paid player in English football.
Cook has said that he has used his contacts with giant sportswear firm Nike to oil the negotiations.
"Ronaldinho has an interest in coming to City, but it's a competitive landscape. There are a lot of people involved in discussions. But I'd love to see him here and so would the fans" Cook said,
"That's who we are trying to serve, they want to see him here. It will fill out the stadium and there would be nothing greater than to see Ronaldinho versus Ronaldo.
"What a wonderful thing for British football. There's still a long way to go yet, but he's intimated he's interested.
"It would be fair to say I've used some resources that I'm aware of in the past to work on that programme.
"There's been a lot of speculation on the money involved, but there's a mechanism that's used in any negotiation.
"The model of signing big players is very different today around how they are marketable, what they do and what their opportunities are globally."
He certainly sounds very confident that they can persuade Ronaldinho to come to Manchester, and the fact that he will have his fellow countrymen Elano and Jo around probably helped.

I still love Ronaldinho .. He was they key of Barcelona's succes .. He just got stuck in Barca .. No matter what I'll always support Ronaldinho that being said .. I'M NOT HAPPY WITH HIM MOVING TO MAN CITY !!
If he agrees personal terms with them..
EDIT: C.Ronaldo has changed his mind about moving to Real Madrid .. He says that nothing has been decided yet and opens the possibility of him staying in Man Utd..
Chelsea gave AC milan permission to talk with Drogba.. Now they have to talk personal terms with drogba..

The problem with Ronaldinho is his attitude. He thinks he's better than everyone else and because he was 2-time "World Player of the Year" that he can do whatever he likes. Last season at Barcelona he never went to training, and sometimes when he was out "injured" it was actually just because he was so unfit due to not training.
The only hope he has of returning somewhat to his previous self is if Hughes can scare the shit out of him, and make him go to training. Although the new wages he'll be getting won't help.

Inter Milan's manager has said Viera can leave. Harry Redknapp responded by imediately placing a £4million bid
Luke McCormick has been bailed after killing 2 people in a car crash on the M6. He'll go back to court 7 days later.
Real Madrid have asked Cristiano Ronaldo to put in a transfer request to help the process. Ronaldo's brother has also said that he will definately go to Madrid. But Giovani dos Santos' dad also said Giovani was going to Man City

Let him be benched for a year and then let him move to Real Madrid. That's the best solution to this |
