FIFA World Cup 2014

Seems like playing ultra-defensive is the only wat to go against Chile.

Brazil are playing too open.

12 million euros 4 year deal for 31 year old. Know keepers can play till at least 43( Mr Freidel, take a bow), but bit much, surely? Especially as he's most probably going to be 2nd choice.
Disclaimer- Most of my posts are me thinking aloud. And most of what I think is rubbish.

Well here in Belgium it's quite hard to follow soccer in other competitions, at least for me, so I don't know a lot about ter Stegen.

I think ter Stegen is a solid GK, otherwise Barça wouldn't sign him. But looking at Bravo's performances at the WC so far, he could even be a better GK atm, correct me if I'm wrong.

And of course a few GK tricks / risks can add lustre to the already beautiful game soccer is Pfft

Yeah, exactly. Bravo is most likely better at the moment, while Ter Stegen is only 22 years old and is one of the biggest goalkeeping talents in the world, besides De Gea and Courtois.

That's why I think that Bravo will be on Barca's goal more often this season and will slightly turn into a 2nd goalkeeper in next season or two, when Ter Stegen (hopefully) becomes a beast.

What about the 'footballer' inside ter Stegen? Bravo really impressed me by showing a pair of incredibly good football feet, guess you understand what I mean Pfft

Atlético Mineiro in Brazil

It's obvious that Jo's kick was like de Jong's kick, but whats even more interesting is, that the referee is again Howard Webb, and that he again hands out a yellow card.

You just have to deal with the fact that Howard Webb is Howard Webb, which means that he's really tolerant when it comes to handing out yellow & red cards for these hard kicks and tackles. That's, however, one of characteristics for most of Britain referees.

If chile goes through, wow...

Chile has a big chance to go through in the penalties... brazilians could have more pressure and be more nervous (since they're playing in home, obviously).

That last penalty was really unlucky...
Brazil stays, and will play with the winner of France - Nigeria in the next round, I think.

Edit: No, it's the winner from Colombia - Uruguai.

Chile was brave, but Brasil played better football thus deserving this outcome imo. Can't avoid feeling pity for the chileans though.
