Only the dutch are saying it decided the result. The others are simply saying it happened and it shouldn't happen. Which is what I've been saying.

It's a fact. Don't deny it happends, and don't say it's stupid. You're doing exactly the same with Boom.

hey there..mrlol stay focused and objective...
It is Vuelta what you expect? that they pushing and Cobo helping Gesink?

Once they canceled Giro stage results..because people pushed italian riders all the way. Years later same stage.. they keep telling in radio ..people please dont.
Valverde today was pushing away people hands..or at least looked this way.
I remember Di Luca at 2008 Giro almost keeping himself close to people..maybe someone will push me..

Seriously - if they are helping Valverde, and you admint that, how can you say it did not affect the result? That like saying the supported should be allowed to push you every once in a while, and you should be allowed to hold a bidon for two seconds wil the DS hits the throttle.

Sorry, but this it just plain stupid.

Then why are you making such a problem about it?

edit: Then what is this?

"Spaniards"? Really?

2 words: Lars Boom.

Now can we please stop with the stupid nationalistic generalizations that are not only wrong, but also insulting? (I'm not even from any of the countries named and I'm insulted by the stupidity)

They are not wrong - you just said that youself.

Two taps on his backside. Each of them for about half a second (yes, I went back and watched the replay just to count it). That's it. Valverde gestured at them violently to stop it and they stopped. And after that, Valverde continued to lose time.

It simply did not have an effect on the result.

What?

Do you have multiple personality disorder? You dutch are the ones making a huge deal about it. I pointed out something entirely different: the double standard.

Damn these Spaniards and their attitude of 'If I don't win, another Spaniard will, but no way that dutchie wins'. (Same goes for italians).

Mosquera, Sanchez and Valverde all stick to Gesinks wheel, when Valv is dropped, first Mosquera keeps sitting on Gesinks wheel(had he been from any other country he'd have started to help gesink for his own gc too) while Sanchez stays with Valverde. Then as the gap gaets too big, Sanchez obviously has to go back tot he groupe for his own GC, so then Cobo takes over. By then the steep section is over and Valverde is on his best terrain again... great.

Not deserved 4 seconds he took on Gesink in the end. bah!

Sanchez has difficulties with the steep sections and rides on his own pace for this whole Vuelta. Besides, it would be a bit stupid if you're only 1.30 behind the leader and after he cracks gonna help that same leader.

He was looking back a little too much for my liking...

Maybe to see if Valverde could work together with him. But thinking that Sanchez would help Valverde is the opposite of naive (don't have the English for that right now Pfft ). In every interview, even after yesterday, he is saying that he still wants to battle for the top position. And by helping Valverde you'll never achieve that. And if indeed he helped, it is very nice to ride away slowly from the man you're helping after 500 meters of pulling. That'll give the guy a great morale.

No, he didn't help. Sanchez chooses to go with his own pace, and by coincidence Valverde was in his wheel. Not for long though.

Only Cobo may have helped, but he didn't gain much time with that short relay. After all there was no significant wind and uphill pulling is nowhere near as effective as on the flat, especially not on this steep sections.
And after all Cobo needs a new team.

Oh and by the way I am a Dutchman as well as you might know, and I was also cheering and jumping before my telly, but you shouldn't spoil the pleasure you get from the ride by Gesink by thinking about conspiracies Wink

I was talking about Cobo helping him having an impact on the result. The pushing was not the main item, but a comparison.

So does this mean you're also going to flame Mosquera for pulling at the front of the Gesink group? Pfft

To be honest i agree with Isso, in terms of advantage... he did gain a race changing advantage from it.....

Also with the Cobo relaying thing... it was for like 20 secs max... the next camera shot it came to Valverde had distanced him by quite a bit and they'd only gone around a corner...

Oh and Waghlon... you know Cunego is your favourite xD

So was Cobo supposed to just sit on Valverde's wheel having caught up with him - doesnt sound very productive for Cobo. And besides, Valverde dropped Cobo after about 5/10 seconds.

As frustrating as it is, Valverde was able to rejoin Gesink on his own merit.

My vote on this poll go's to isso..mrlol can be objective on this question..Ok Cobo helped him..for few seconds..then people tryed to push or tap Valverde..
But Mosquera and Sami helping Valverde is riddiculous ..has Basso with Liquigas helped Gesink do drop Valverde..

although i don't like the way the spanish completely ignore valverdes doping and i know they and the spanish teams would rather a spaniard won than a foreigner but the pushing was so small it was almost irrelevant

That makes absolutely no sense.

Oh well.

I'll come back to this topic tomorrow or whatever. You've proven quite a lot of times you can't be objective when dutchmen are involved larsie.
