Great. I have no one to root for now. Perhaps Mexico. Perhaps Greece or Switzerland, as I love teams that have a defensive playstyle
But Admir has a point. I can't truly root for USA, as I didn't even know much of the team and playstyle, etc, and it just creates a feeling that you can't truly get behind them, as opposed to watching USA basketball or hockey.
On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with posting a semi-obligatory message supporting your team. AdmiNschleck might just be popping up again

So proud of the Belgian team here
Belgium has never lost a match with Thibault Courtois in the goal. Hope that never changes
Origi is a monster talent!
Time for the States to lose you some betting money
Which is a shame, because I was hoping for a US-Russia matchup

USA plays boring football, but very tactically strong thanks to Klinsmann, they are deserved part of round of 16, heck they can even go further, because Belgium is not playing great and can have problems with strong defensive tactis, based on physical capabilities of american players.
Did anyone else see this before the Algerian goal?

So you're saying that you don't deserve to support your team because you don't know much about them, and now you're going to root for Mexico, Greece or Switzerland which (I assume) you know less about?
Just kidding mate, you can root for whoever the hell you want, and don't bother yourself thinking you don't deserve this or that. If supporting your team excites you, then do it. It'll probably lead you to pay more attention to them in the future.
It's only natural you US americans don't feel so enthusiastic about football so much. It's a cultural thing. And it's great that it is that way.
EDIT:

My instinct tells me the same thing. Belgium have great players but they are yet to make a statement this WC, and it wouldn't be that long of a stretch to think the US could capitalize on that.
I wonder what Donovan and his fellow snubbed mates are feeling atm with all this...

Oh, I never said there is anything wrong with it, just that these guys needs to support their country always, not just when you get good results, as it's where you're born, grown up and that's what you love at the end. It's different to supporting teams. You simply cannot and shouldn't be bandwagoner when it comes to supporting national team(s).
And this is completely opposite to known phenomenon "admiNschleck", as I am loosing the little reputation (I do have some, really? ) I still have.
Also agree with what Gustavovskiy said. Kinda.
