Uhm, please stop
I'm overjoyed at his results and performances, but some people here should try and celebrate the way he does himself: by being quiet, modest and polite.
Edvald wearing purple in Milano will be cool thoughB) |

so now it's 3xColumbia, 3xLPR, 1xRabobank, 1xDiquigiovanni. And none of the Columbia wins came at sprint.

Its sad that ive gone from liking Hagen to groaning whenever he does well.
I imagine this was what it was like to non-brits in 2007 and the early part of 2008 when Cavendish was winning stuff - wild celebration countered by others claiming he hadnt proved himself against the top riders. (Although I dont think the celebrations were this over the top)
Hopefully the Hagen madness will similarly die down, before its too late. |

I think what you guys don't understand, is that no one cares if you groan when he does well. You're just acting like crybabies for nothing. |

Exactly. Do you guys honestly think he cares if you've grown a disliking for him? My guess is no.

You gotta remember that unlike the Netherlands, France, Italy, Spain etc, we don't have a bucket load of top-tier professional riders. Maybe some people go a little overboard sometimes, but it comes with the territory. Go to the Philippines and ask about Pacman and you'll get the same response x 1000.

You know what is going to happen, people saying "Hagen is the best, he will for sure win this and that" will just end up being disappointed when he doesn't win. You should just enjoy what your favourite riders manage to ppull off and not make high expectations just because they won something. Surprises that you do not expect are way more fun than being disappointed everytime your favourite rider doesn't win. |

all this whining is not going to do anything to stop norwegians celebrating their few world class sports achievements. I think you guys forget that we live in a muscular society. It's 'live free or die', not 'live free or whine'. |

As I said, it comes with the territory. But I bet you a lot of the Norwegians comparing Hagen to God are just playing with you. I know the bait is tempting, but you can always refuse.

By all means celebrate, but the continually over the top behaviour is just you discrediting yourselves immensely in terms of most other peoples opinions here. Wouldnt somewhere like PCMNorge be a more appropriate place to express your Hagen-love non stop? But if you do want to become hated or laughed at, then feel free, I dont imagine it will be very fun in the long term though.
Ive already posted the correlation with Cavendish - differences being that myself and other Brits were not this bad and Cavendish really was the first big successful cyclist in Britain to win on regular occasions for a long time - Norway has already had Hushovd winning for a number of years.

I think that Hector Gonzalez is going to become a good cyclist in a few years time. He was hurting a lot in the break today, but that comes with being a neo-pro (or in his second year, I don't know which). For him to get in the break is a good experience for him, and especially to be able to climb with the forerunners in that break for a bit. Give him a few years, and I reckon we could see a little bit more of him.

Another fascinating day in the Giro, strong performance by Columbia and Astana/LPR worked impressively as well.
That attack from Siutsou was really well timed, that last little climb into the finish was really fun! Good to see Di Luca chasing hard there.
I don't think it was hugely surprising that B Hagan got second there - I think more focus should go on Siutsou's victory which makes his Giro (I actually was worried that Siutsous star was on the wane) and improves to Columbias overall excellent performance of getting the best out of their riders.
Cunego - well at least he had a go, maybe if only him and Garzelli had got away then he would have had a chance - though I doubt it I think LPR wanted to get Di Luca in for some time bonus'.
Basso, Menchov and Sastre will be the most relieved today perhaps - Leiphiemer and Rogers could have taken some time had things worked out for them.
As for tomorrow - who here believes it can be anything other than either and LPR (Pettachi) or a Columbia (Cav or dare I say it B Hagan) victory. Or does Tyler Farrar perhaps have a chance? |

Well, you've had one of the greatest climbers in the world around the 80's, Robert Millar. |
