It doesn't really, no.
You could run this stage 100 times and it would be a big bunch sprint 99 times. But then this shit happens. I can guarantee if I hadn't set a goal (easy goal may I add), everything would have been fine. Look at Romandie. No goal, we're flying.
And it's pure luck as well, it has nothing to do with the quality of my riders or team, which is the most frustrating thing. I can accept Evans being trounced by Quintana and Nibbles in the Giro because that's where he should be.
But I set this as an easy goal because there was no way five people would beat TVG here on home soil. Now I lose out on much -needed points because of the AI.
EDIT: Anyway, there's nothing I can do now. Bring on Belgium and Romandie.

From the off we have 3 attackers, Zandio (SKY), De Maar (UHC) and Txurruka (CJR)
Van Kiekerk (MTN), Chiarini (AND) Beyer (CSS) and Vandenbergh (OPQ) try to join in the fun.
But at the bottom of the category 1 climb at the stage of the stage NetApp reel them in.
Inside a kilometer from the peak, Chaves attacks out the pack unanswered. He takes full points.
He quickly rushes down the descent, De Maar attacks again.
Van Goolen attacks, followed by Chiarini and Boswell (SKY) individually.
Here is the break of the day, they start to work together after forming around 100km to go.
Here we have a nice helicopter shot of the peloton riding around the corners. The break has a 4'40" adavantage.
60km to go the break rolls through the intermediate sprint with a 3'43" advantage.
40km to go, the breaks gap decreases to 2'54"
20km to go, the quintet have a real chance of a win, the gap boasts up to 3'45". It would seem that the peloton have stopped riding again. They aren't concerned with the riders in front GC wise.
18km to go, it's that infamous california peloton split. This time the highest profile rider caught out is MTN's main sprinter Kennedy.
Chaves attacks and is immediately shut down by Van Goolen and Boswell.
Boswell turn to go on the offensive. This time it can't be followed.
Talansky leads Garmin around the corner for Farrar. It's no use though, the break have 2'36" and the winner will come from there again.
10km to go now, Boswell have a 24" gap to the rest of the break. He goes so fast he loses his hat!
Talansky still on the front, he strings the peloton out 7.5km from the end, still 2 minutes + to the break.
De Maar decides its enough waiting around and goes in pursuit of Boswell.
3km to go and the breakaway are trying to fight off the peloton.
The Garmin are playing a train for Farrar which seems a bit pointless.
2km to go, Boswell still holds the gap, the rest of the break down't have the energy to get back to him.
1km to go, Van Goolen looks on, it won't be his day.
Boswell is focus, he just needs to be it home now.
He does, pure delight for Sky and young Ian Boswell. He wins on home soil! Once again the breakaway succeeds, they will all be rushing to make the break on the last two road stages.

I just love how NetApp keeps König in yellow by letting the breakaway ride and thus forsaking Sagan and Rui Costa their bonus seconds.

Ugh, I just noticed that Time Trial is over 35 kilometers long. Bye bye leader jersey. Rui Costa, Po Ding and Wiggins to thresh us. At least Horner should remain behind König.

Let's get to the second stage of this years Tour of Belgium. Today is one of the deciding stages for the tour. Only who can keep up today will have the chance to call himself the winner of the 2013 Baloise Belgium Tour. The stage is mostly flat, with some speedbumps halfway through. The biggest effect on the outcome will have the three cobbled sectors, the last one only 20 kilometres before the finish.
The biggest favourite for today has to be Tom Boonen, but we can't rule out yesterdays stage winner and wearer of the red leaders jersey Edvald Boasson Hagen. Also listed as favourites from the cycling experts of Cyanide.com are The two boys from BMC Philippe Gilbert and Greg Van Avermaet. They give some chances to yesterday fourth and young hope of the Bsaque squad Euskaltel, Rudy Verboven.
After been hold back yesterday by a mechanical Van Staeyen (TopSport) is the first to attack today, just after the race comissairs have waved the flag. Geoffroy Lequatre (Bretagne) follows him.
This attack would only be the beginning of a fast and furious race start, a lot of teams want to be represented in the break today, among them Accent Jobs, Crelan, Cannondale, Cofidis, Caja Rural, Champion Systems, Bretagne and Topsport. Team Sky found it to risky to let a big break get away and denied several attempts of a breakaway.
After 30 kilometres of racing a group of two got away, besides Guillaume Boivin we have a known face in the break. Frederic Amorison was already yesterday in the break and is fourth in the general classification due to his earned bonus seconds. Team Sky oviously doesn't see a threat in him, even though 3 intermediate sprints could make him surpass Edvald Boasson Hagen in the overall.
At the first intermediate sprint the lead is already decreasing, now 3'24'' it was 4'02'' only ten kilometres ago. Boivin decides to screw up Amorison's plan and takes his sprint abilities to beat him.
The peloton contests for the last spot that would give points at the intermediate sprint. Theo Bos secures himself 2 bonus seconds and maybe more important also 2 sprint points. Only Turgot and his team mate Martens fought him seriously but stopped after they saw they wouldn't have a chance.
The break handles the first cobbled sector without problems. With 80 kilometres to go the lead is at 2'51''. Let's see if the cobbled section makes one of the bigger names struggle in the peloton.
No major splits, but the harder cobbled sector, the Bosberg, which will be ridden twice lays still ahead.
We have to switch right back to the break, where Boivin wins also the second intermediate sprint. Still Amorison moved already up to second in GC.
Three minutes later the peloton gets to the intermediate sprint where Turgot takes the remaining two points.
Also the first crossing of the Bosberg seems to be no problem for the break. Meanwhile their lead has growen, 3'15'' with 70 kilometres left.
The peloton doesn't survive the Bosberg without scratches, riders that were badly positioned have problems with keeping up. We can't say for sure yet but it seems like Barry Markus, Philippe Gilbert, Rudy Verboven, Pete Lixandru and Theo Bos have missed the split. We will tell you more once we get the pictures.
Here he is: Philippe Gilbert just making contact with a group that is just behind the main field, also there Markus, Krizan, De Clercq, Schröder and Martens. Behind that group are two other big groups containing among others Taaramäe, Leukemans, Verboven, Bos and Lixandru. It doesn't look good for them.
In the peloton it is Sky making the pace, still having almost all of their riders there seeing the chance of a lot of concurrents being taken out of the equation. It is still 65 kilometres to the finish, so it will be hard to keep a high pace until there. Omega Pharma also has almost all of their riders still in, as well there the most important riders of Vacansoleil, Greg Henderson, Rajesh Kakhi, Sebastian Turgot, Kristjan Koren and Greg Van Avermaet.
Sky soon decided that they don't want to spend all their energy by trying to stay away and reduced the pace, making it possible for the group Gilbert to reestablish contact.
That leaves only one group behind, containing 65 riders, for a moment it looked like they would get closer with the pacemaking of Cofidis, but with 50 kilometres to go they still are 1'45'' behind. It will get close.
Cofidis soon sat up and it was only this mornings breakaway against a peloton lead by Sky and Omega Pharma closing in on the horizon. The lead is at 1'35'' with 27 kilometres and one crossing of the Bosberg to go.
Last time Bosberg, the break first, with Boivin already having a gap on Amorison. On top of the hill will be the last intermediate sprint.
The field is lead into the cobbles by Team Champion Systems allthough their leader Kakhi is rather badly positioned.
Ryan Roth leads the peloton through the last sprint competition (won by Boivin), it will be interesting to see in which constellation the fiel enters the last 19 kilometres.
It wasn't reported of anyone that he dropped, that's luck for the badly positioned leaders, here we see Kakhi on the left and Henderson on the right sprinting past the other riders in the downhill to be better positioned in the final kilometres.
With 15 kilometres to go and the break only 1'25'' in front it looks like we get to see another mass sprint. That is not in anybodies favour. The first one to attack is Geraint Thomas, followed by the world champion himself. Their attack doesn't get them far though as Paterski of Cannondale reels them in immediately.
Now we get a weird situation, although Cannondale and Crelan are represented in the break these are the teams that lead the pace making behind. 47 seconds for the break with 12 kilometres to go.
Just when the break was about to be reeled in we see another attack of Philippe Gilbert. 8 kilometres to go.
Doesn't get him far. Next one Kenyan star Sithembile. 7 kilometres to go.
With 2600 metres to go he still has a lead of 22 seconds.
Behind Barry Markus has launched his sprint early he is closing in on Sithembile with an incredible speed.
Under the red kite he is about to pass the Kenyan.
600 metres to go and Markus is in front, also coming fast is Gilbert on the right, the two other Vacansoleil riders are Flecha and Marcato. Coming very fast are two from Sky, Geraint Thomas and Austrian Bernhard Eisel. Turgot and Paul Martens also contest.
The finish line is already in sight, now it's Juan Antonio Flecah that has taken the lead. On the left Van Avermaet is coming fast, on his wheel Henderson. In the middle we see Kakhi with a last punch and race leader Edvald Bpasspn Hagen. On Martens' wheel Maxime Vantomme of Crelan appeared.
Thomas has it, it's Van Avermaet vs Eisel vs FLecha for second.
That's the second win in a row for Team Sky, Van Avermaet just gets second and Eisel rounds of the podium and rounds of Sky's team success'.
Geraint Thomas is awarded with the leaders jersey for tomorrow's time trial. Boasson Hagen just behind with the same time. The provisional podium is rounded of by Boivin who could hang on after todays effort. The bonus seconds make him only come short 2 seconds in the general classification. Amorison with the same tactic on the same time but fourth.

Sky are unexpectedly owning this race, Thomas or EBH have a very good chance to win overall with the TT.
It could have gone so badly for BMC though likely Gilbert showed strength to get back
