England much improved today, but that was very, very tense towards the end of the match. Very well done to the USA - we were waiting for that goal to come, but you have to feel sorry for Slovenia. As the team I was supporting after England (in part due to the fact that the further Slovenia got in the tournament, the greater discounts offered from the tourist office for holidays there ), that's a great shame, after being so close.
Still, Germany next for England, and quite frankly, England have little chance of winning that match. That is not going to be fun at all.

i wouldn't say we have bo chance. Germany haven't exactly been amazing either. they beat a poor australia team with 10 men, lost to serbia and then made hard work of Ghana.
i think it will be very close and will probably end in penalties. which means you are right, we don't stand a chance
though Germany did miss their first world cup penalty for 30 years against Serbia so anything could happen.

Yeah, I was thinking about penalties too. I still think England have to improve considerably even from that last performance to stand a chance of beating Germany, and in fairness Ghana played very well against Germany, but lets face it, it's bound to come down to penalties. And penalties = failure.
Yeah, but Uruguay, South Korea, Ghana and USA aren't the usual semi finalists. Even though South Korea made it in 2002. Looks pretty good for South America. Could end up with Uruguay - Brazil & Argentina - Chile in the semis, but of course this is only one of many possibilities. Expecting lots of more interesting and entertaining matches.
Australia beat Serbia in a 2-1 win tonight. Although Australia and Ghana tied, the goal difference against Germany killed their chance to go through. It's pity

I so badly want the two Group F games to end with draws of either no goals or the same amount of goals in each game, so that Italy and New Zealand have to draw lots.

Who goes through if both of the group F games are 0-0 or 1-1 draws?
Then the team who played 1-1 goes through.
If pts and goal difference is the same, they look at goals scored next.
Edit: if you mean both games same result then I think... a draw!
It happened in 1990. Netherlands and Ireland tied for 2nd and 3rd. Back then you could go through as 3rd placed though, because there were 6 groups. Both did, but a draw determined the seeding and next opponent.
