Damn it. Sooo close.
Vandevelde is trying to get a small team a top 5 finish. He's not working FOR Evans... he's working for a top 5... which helps Evans.
With his TT a top 5 is still possible... perhaps even a podium. For Garmin-Chipotle, that would be HUGE. |

Evans needs to mark Kohl and Frank. everyone else is irrelevant.
It's everyone BUT Evans who has to do something if they want the Tour to be theirs.

Sastre has pulled out a huge gap! He is very strong today. Andy is doing a good job at marking all these attacks. |

Kohl hasnt dropped off, but with lots more attacks a few people will get distanced. |

How big a gap would make the TT interesting?

The constant accelerations are killing everyone, while Sastre is going at his own pace. that is a big advantage to him

considering the huge boost that yellow gives, Sastre needs to win the stage by about 3 minutes

The group with Schleck has such a strange pace. Up and down. Menchov is back. And the group is pretty big. Sastre will be able to pull out a large gap. Over 1'30 |

if this rate keeps up, Sastre will finish with an advantage that will allow him to have a small chance of winning the overall

Have to say, weird tactics by CSC today, but they've done it perfectly. The Schlecks little accelerations and decellerations are a great tactic to give Sastre a great chance of a big gap.
