great post. Y'know, one day my journalist character will go an a wild goose chase surrounding the reasons behind Milan's change from Belgium to New Zealand. I think maybe sometime he could come back, but that all depends.
Spoiler I still only have a vague idea why he actually left

Well I gave it some time for people to catch up.
I hope somebody did
I'll allow another 2 days perhaps and then do the next report. |

Here is the Lancaster Challenge. Enjoy! This race brings the UCI Classification real close, too. only 5 UCI Points difference between 1 and 2! |

It's been a crazy season so far, that's true
Though the Antofagasta race might change that. Higher temperatures and a bigger chance at a sprint. Could mean less action or perhaps even more action to avoid a sprint!

And another great post by Vague, or rather Shonak
Definitely among those few that keep this game running, so thanks for the participation! |

That's it for the States! A great run of races. Goldie running well, but Antofagsta probably won't help his World Cup ambitions. Markson showing good things at times (i might need to adjust his skills to make him a bit more different from Power or Goldie). Power was kind of invisible but just saving himself for Rio. Need the ice to get Mikel back towards the front.
Really running well and just as good to read everything as ever!

Hmmmm. Very good race for Josiah and struggling for Lachy and Milan. May do something with Milan injury, probably something he doesn't notice until he gets it checked out.

Made another update of the activity-check.
Based on my gut feeling, don't go out to check latest posts etc.
List of Riders Activity
Very Active
Francis N. Vague
Regular Poster
Elliot Cook
Milan Listerijn
Lachy Bauer
Max Power
Mikel Hammarling
Ronnie Hira
Eddie Goldenberg
Fred Markson
Baris Dao
Recent Inactivity (for over a month now, I think)
Matt Mazzarelli
Sylvain Lipawsky
Hafthor Eldfjallsson
Christian Schiltz
Karol Konva
Jan Soucek
Dirk Accostella
Rare Poster
Rudy Verboven
Sven Welling
Stan Van Overberghe
Dries Cornelis
Iban Etxeberdea
Camilo Osorio
Estifanos Mutahi
Blazej Dobransky
Rik Van Fleming
Naveed Alinejad
Amadou Bakari
Josiah Bennett
Some spots are arguable. General activity is down, however, with only Shonak giving updates with each race, and jandal7 just about the same.
Smowz had another post but it had been a while and now has been a while, too. The Cookie Monster is definitely not gone but I definitely hope to see him return to former shape posts-wise.
Roturn let me know about the upcoming weeks and was quite active before, so no worry about that. If he had access to his main computer, I'm sure he would still be as active as he was.
TMM remains regular, so I'm happy about that. Doesn't post a whole lot, but is constant and keeps up with the game just fine. (posts in the General Thread, which are important to me, too.)
I contacted some members and guys like trekbmc, matt17br and Avin still express their interest in this game, but a combination of things (including ManGame and school) make it hard to play, so I hope to see them back at any day. Same goes for SportingNonsense, who had a busy time with the MG and also expressed to be busy in June and July, if I remember correctly.
It has to be said that this has already affected the results of several riders. Short inactivity isn't bad and won't have an affect, but some members have been inactive for almost 2 months now so it has had an effect on their stats, behaviour and results.
Overall, the activity in the General Thread has decreased, too, which I find too bad. There are no more discussions whatsoever here, where there used to be quite a few, regularly.
Still, a special thanks to Shonak, jandal7, roturn and TheManxMissile. Without them I don't know for sure if this would still be running like it is!
That was my spontaneous activity check. Wasn't planned so real sorry if I forgot anyone or misjudged anyone. Feel free to react to this! |

And i don't even like CycloCross I just find it a great way to do some fun character writing that i otherwise wouldn't get to do. For this the short updates now and then work better for me, especially as my riders tend to not be competeing (with the exceptiong of Goldie, but i don't want 4 guys winning all the time either) for prizes. And i can really see the effort and passion put in on your side (Ian) and that of several others who do enjoy the game, it's a level not really found outside the ManGame for games.
Stick with it and things will pick back up given time i'm sure. Summer is always a strange one. Everyone gets really into cycling but also gets too busy to post stuff, and CX is kind of a winter thing. On the note of summer you're gonna lose my contributions for a couple of months very soon but if it's still going come September you can count be back in

I haven't had huge time recently, expect all four to update and possibly cxreport. Don't let it get you down. Not to be that guy but you know what you need for more activity in both threads?

Actually quite busy IRL so I only find time to post with Vague. I still havn't made season intros for Guido and Dobransky, so that's a fail. Will get to it at some point but for me it's most important to write with Francis.
Love this game and I hope you get more support in the coming weeks and months again. Some more activity is defo welcome and a quick "newspaper" post with four sentences is always good. There have always been slower times in any game and it's important to stick them through. As long as you love writing these reports you should keep doing it. Like I said many times, it's an incredible narrative game and so much fun to write about it. +1 TMM on that.

Just had my final exam for the next two weeks, so I'll try to catch up very soon, and then actually stay active. Luckily I almost have vacation

I know i deserve to be put on the shame list.
I had a chance to read few reports yesterday (last i read before was from 3rd race!) and i should have a time to read the rest today or tommorow, so hopefully Konva and Souček will each react in longers posts in next few days.
I love this game, but its pace is furious to say at least. Every day i am bit more behind then day before.

I like this game as well. Pace is fast but still okay for me. But I guess when really having no time and missing 3-4 races at once, it can be a bit harder to make a come back quickly.
The activity factor obviously helps a lot as you are somehow rewarded this way.
I might make a Dao post soon again. But often lack some time or depending on what I did this day, I sometimes even lack motivation to make a 10 liner.
Usually though I try to make a general post after every race and a game post every 1-2 races. Unfortunately I miss some of those at times. But I will try to improve until Dao beats Vague regularly. |

@TheManxMissile: Yeah, for not liking CX you're doing a great job Thanks for the heads up on the summer months, I'll keep Hammarling on ice for you! (get it?) And seriously, if you let me know in advance I can easily keep the riders' level and keep them improving steadily. After all, this is a long term game like I've said a few times before. Temporary inactivity (especially if warned beforehand) won't have a big impact.
And thanks for the kind words! I try to do my best here and the players do the rest!
@jandal7: Well, struisbaai is coming up soon...
@Shonak: Actually surprised to hear you're so busy irl, because the Vague-posts continue to be fantastic! The other characters are secondary so no rush with them
@Selwink: That's great to hear! Because Cornelis could definitely use a helping hand! And Alinejad is slowly getting there, too
@Avin: Haha don't really call it the shame list but I guess that's the next step But I know people can lack time for updates, so as long as you return, it's fine. You'll find out that both Soucek and Konva have been progressing slowly during your absence
@roturn: I can understand missing 3 - 4 races that it quickly becomes a 'pile' of things to catch up on. I once proposed race summaries to be made, but never found the time to get around to it, so far.
That's a mighty goal you've set for yourself but nothing's impossible in this game! Except for Mazzarelli to actually win a sprint!
Thanks for the responses!
Expect Antofagasta tomorrow! |

Nice report.
Obviously would have loved to go for another Dao win here. I think he could have done it himself as main sprinter.
Then again it was a great team work and so it`s just fair, that the Blue Bell CX guys swap leadership to give everyone a chance. And obviously it worked out well. |
