Jakstar22 - Thanks, I hope so, too! As soon as possible.
Daggen - Will do so. At least try to
FreitasPCM - They might've retired by the time you come back...
sutty68 - Thanks!
Ollfardh - Vanbilsen is a real strong rider. He'll be Stijn's big competitor in a few years when Cancellara and Boonen stop performing. Stijn wants to be a flandrien much more than a sprinter, though you're right about that!
TTspecialist - Thanks mate!
Will race before E3-prijs and maybe tonight, too. But it's Belgium - Macedonia so I will probably watch that |

Tirreno - Adriatico - Stage 2
The final flat stage of this Tirreno - Adriatico.
A relatively easy finish. Wide roads, flat. The final corner might cause a problem, though.
When the breakaway was almost caught, Clement went for one final time, to pick up the "fighter of the day" trophy.
Three national champions wheel to wheel: Démare, Sagan and myself.
I build up speed a bit too early. I made a rookie mistake of going full speed before the final corner. The others were a bit slower so they took the corner much better, I almost missed it!
The mistake might've cost me a podium place, but in the end, a fifth place isn't bad. This was my final test for Milan - San Remo, all that remains are hilly stages, which will be good training!
Démare took the win, with Sagan a close second.

BikeRoel - Thanks
TTspecialist - That's just now, don't worry Stijn's had a much busier season start with Down Under and the cobbled races. Now there's been two flat stages. When we head into the mountains and hills, Willy's reports get longer and Stijn's shorter. But thanks for the tip It just always depends on what race it is. It's useless to make a long report from Willy in a flat stage, right? |

Tirreno - Adriatico - Stage 3
Finally we head into the hills.
245 km, hell, this is almost an Ardennes Classic!
Today I restricted myself to some water bottle duties. Someone has to do the dirty work, right?!
My legs were good and I stayed with the peloton longer than expected. But as soon as the attacks came, my race was over!
Many attacks today, as we could expect. With Slagter, Costa and myself we had a pretty strong team for the hills. I felt my legs growing km after km!
When Gilbert was in front, I didn't think twice. React now or it's too late!
Gilbert's effort didn't last, but Valverde and Vanendert were still ahead. I sped out like an arrow! It's the first time this season I felt this great!
I went as fast as I could and caught all escapees but one: Valverde.
He took the win, but more importantly for me: I'm back! My killer instinct and my usual legs have returned unexpectedly in this long, hilly stage. Tomorrow is Prato di Tivo, I'll be ready!
And even more unexpectedly and due to a good time time trial, I take over the general classification! Amazing!

I'm very thirsty for tomorrow's stage. I want blood, and it won't be mine! I have full confidence that I can bring his jersey home, it would be an amazing achievement. The only thing lacking is a victory, though...
Until tomorrow,
Stijn & Willy |

Tirreno - Adriatico - Stage 5
This is the day of truth. The famous Prati di Tivo!
Iron hard. Leading the GC with a mere 5 seconds, this day was bound to turn into a battlefield!
Everyone had to chip in today. I did my fair share of the work and took over 100 km for my account, of course with the help of some team mates. Everyone worked their asses off today!
When the attacks came, most of the team were flat out already. Just me and Clement were left to cushion part of the blow.
We did one more final effort of about 4 km and that put the back door wide open.
The rest was up to Willy!
Last year I wore this jersey, but I didn't realize what it was just yet. I'm more mature now and fully aware of what this means. I was never as focused as today. Where I picked up some (more than) beautiful stage wins last year, I'm looking to turn into a serious GC contender this year and at least for the future!
This is the photo of a focused man. No glasses to get distracted, looking at the road. I was ready for anything.
The slippery roads in these Tirreno - Adriatico caused some minor injuries, but nothing bad.
When most of the team was flat out, thanks to their absolute beautiful work, Costa sacrificed himself for my account. A little acceleration on our part!
This really blew the lid off. Small groups were forming everywhere. I was in the front group, but I was alone, isolated.
When the two Schlecks and Vanendert started pulling hard, me and Gesink had to pass.
I didn't panic and took a few seconds to catch my breath, then I started my final maneuver.
And the two brothers were suddenly totally parked alongside the road! With no energy left, they passed. I suddenly had wings and overtook them!
Unbelievable but it's true! I take this stage in the leader's jersey!
