Wagner: very good signing.
Tanner? What the f*** dude...

Hopefully Wagner gets some chances on his own. He is a pretty underestimated sprinter imo and obviously had a bad team with with RadioShack that don`t care for sprints at all.
Plus he is not bad on cobbles and could do well on Gent Wevelgem and similar races.
Tanner...yeah, don`t know.

Tanner isn't as ridiculously bad as most people seem to think. I've never seen him at work in sprint preparation though.
2011
10th Hel van het Mergelland
5th Ster ZLM Tour
7th Tour de Pologne, Stage 5
2012
12th Vattenfall Cyclassics
23th GP Ouest France - Plouay
19th GP de Québec |

I think Tanner kind of got fucked by Richie Porte. When Porte got signed the big narrative, especially on this site, was that the Porte signing was a joke, that Riis was having to go and sign no names because he didn't have the money to sign anyone good. Of course, Porte turned out to be a beast, and we all looked like idiots.
Tanner was the next Aussie-out-of-nowhere Riis signing, and hasn't turned out nearly as well. He's not a quality rider, but he's just a meh journeyman, who's fine as the 24th rider on your WT team. I wouldn't congratulate Rabo on picking him up, but as roster filler? He's fine.
EDIT: Because I have no life, here's CT's sarcastic announcement and old Waggy's response:

No, they should have signed Calzati instead

Sarcastic? No way, I knew he was going to be the 3rd/4th best climber in the Tour de France a couple of years later |

Either that or another rider that should secure them the Pro Conti. |

Yeah that seems likely. I wouldn't be surprised if they announce a signing or two to go along with it. Maybe Hunter? Possibly Impey?

Hunter could work as a potential signing - I doubt Impey would want to leave Greenedge

That`s worth a big or maybe even two.
This is a surprise but although Ciolek might not be in the biggest races for the next 1-2 seasons he might start to learn again how to position himself and start winning again. He is still young.
On the other hand this even more means Cav to OPQ I guess. |

Ciolek to MTN That's quite a surprise.
And about the 2 Rabo transfers. They both should be better than Vermeltfoort. (who scored just 10 cq points since going pro)

König, Barta, Huzarski, Schorn, Jarc, Benedetti, Schillinger, Eichler and Schwarzmann will stay with NetApp.
Add Scott Thwaites, Erick Rowsell, Jonny McEvoy, Russell Downing, Paul Voss, Zak Dempster, Iker Camano and Alex Blain to them.
So still ~3 open slots as they wanted to have ~20.
Hollenstein and M.Wyss will leave NetApp and join IAM. |
