So you disagree the field is not very strong?
You think Nicolas Roche, Peter Velits and Xavier Tond are normal to expect in the top 5 of a Grand Tour?
Cmon Guido, even you know better |

So has F.Schleck won yet? Oh no wait, now even Roche and Velits climb better
I guess Fuentes stopped giving him training schedules
*Throws Saxo glasses out*
Schleck isn't clearly in the superb form. Nobody can be in perfect form after injury like broken collarbone in the middle of July. On the other side he should be in very good form for World Champs and Lombardia.

Vuelta lineaup as always been kind of season GT's rebound peloton. With few spanish guys who have prepeared specialy for event. and there is always world looking around a corner. Some guys using a Vuleta for preparation.
Few strong names..but form is hugh question mark.
That race is what it is.. It looks more like Giro. Not so many nervous guys as in tour peloton..Lot of atacks..even grazy ones. Joy.
and best place for youngsters or rookie team captains to learn about GT |

Always?
I'm only counting the ones that did well:
Last year: Sammy Sanchez, Valverde, Evans, Basso, Gesink, Mosquera, Rodriguez
2008: Rodriguez, Contador, Leipheimer, Valverde, Gesink, Sastre, Mosquera
This year... Rodriguez, Nibali, Mosquera remain... well with good will F.Schleck.
With Anton, Bruseghin gone from the top of the GC and Menchov and in lesser content F.Schleck being dissapointing... well. hmmm no. |

well 2010 standings after 15 stages
1 Vincenzo Nibali (Ita) Liquigas-Doimo 65:31:14
2 Joaquin Rodriguez (Spa) Team Katusha 0:00:04
3 Ezequiel Mosquera (Spa) Xacobeo Galicia 0:00:39
4 Peter Velits (Svk) Team HTC-Columbia 0:02:29
5 Xavier Tondo (Spa) Cervélo Test Team 0:02:30
6 Nicolas Roche (Irl) Ag2R-La Mondiale 0:02:47
7 Frank Schleck (Lux) Team Saxo Bank 0:02:48
8 Tom Danielson (USA) Garmin-Transitions 0:03:48
9 Carlos Sastre (Spa) Cervélo Test Team 0:04:29
10 Vladimir Karpets (Rus) Team Katusha 0:05:2
enough for me...
I am not also happy that Anton and Bruseghin crashed...that Andy did not want to be there...and Menchov is not "there" anymore.

Pack is not as high-profile as it usually is, i agree with Ruben. But noone can say the racing is inferior. It's been an excellent Vuelta, and today will be no different. |

Peter Velits is a great talent and for me it is not a surprise that he is in top 10. He is getting better every year.
And still, Peter Sagan is coming |

Xacobeo has 2 riders in the breakaway at this moment...
Will Mosquera attack at La Cobertoria and use their help in flat section? That could be interesting

Big crash in the peloton!!!
No names known yet.
Can anybody tell me why Nibali is/was in a 15 men breakaway
At the moment Menchov and Pujol with a small gap, then some others WITH Nibali. Then the big peloton. But everything very close together.

Quite weird at the moment
52km/h average until now. So a big crash happened, where Ten Dam had to abandon.
Nibali went into groups, what doesn`t make the race slowlier
Serafin Martinez was in first big group, so Cofidis made the race even faster.
Menchov and Puyol with 10 sec in front. Some riders try to jump to them. But because of the high speed and the crash the peloton is splitted in several parts. |

Now breakaway is in the peloton again. Just Moncoutie with a small gap. The peloton is still splitted.
Nibali didn`t really try to escape, he was just in first group a few seconds in front of the peloton. Probably because there were dangerous riders in it.
Van Goolen abandon.

A group of 24 riders leading the race, with NIBALI and MOSQUERA
Edit: Now the pack is together
