I thought that first, but from the replay it looked quite nasty from Valencia. |

Yes, Suarez needs to get a ban, but I don't think he should be banned for life.
Biting is not worse then head butting, kicking, elbow hitting, squeezing balls, or whatever players do. So why should he be judged differently?
There are many players on the pitch who don't respect the rules of the games and give a shit about fair play. They do it in every game, Suarez only bites randomly. So if he should be banned for life, then everybody else would deserve a lifetime ban too.
Of course it's not nice to bite a player but he did not gain any advantage for his team doing so. In my opinion, tactical fouls should be sanctioned harder then aggressive fouls. If I insult your sister, I cannot complain if you head butt me. But if you hit me just because I am faster than you, it is totally unfair and also harms my team.
Couldn't disagree more.
Lifetime ban? It's not gonna happen, especially in football. But would he deserve multiple months/years of suspension? Definitely (at least in my book).
It's not about the lack of fair play it's about making a mockery of the rules and repeating your offences time and time again, with complete disregard for the consequences.
I can understand a slap, a headbutt or even a punch from a player who has lost it. But a bite? Why in the world would you do that? The question isn't the lack of sportsmanship, it's the psychopathic behaviour. It's unthinkable to compare this to a tactical foul.
This guy belongs to the psychiatry ward, not the football fields (this isn't an hyperbole, he should be checked up)
+1000, cant agree more. If Suarez was part of less corrupted sport where FIFA does not rule, he would be banned for life already. Imagine him doing this in NBA, he would be out of the game for good.
But FIFA cares about money more than anything, and Suarez on the pitch is generating much bigger revenue than banned Suarez. Fucking hypocrites, it reminds me of UCI and their keeping of the omerta...

I think you two are too emotional.
A bite is dangerous only if the biter has a transmittable disease but you can kill a person with an elbow to the head.
Furthermore tactical fouls ruin the game, a bite enriches it. In fact, tactical fouls are far more game changing than any (possibly wrong) decision of the referees.
And like I said before, please don't exaggerate. There are plenty of psychopaths walking this earth, stalking, raping and/or murdering other persons. Suarez is just an emotional guy. |

Lachi - It's not about it being dangerous (even though he does plenty of dangerous stuff too, look at the tackles), it's about it being a freaking nasty behaviour thats inexplicable.. children bites, not grown up people, that tells me he's got something wrong in his head. You really think a tactical foul in the middle of the pitch should be awarded with a heavier penalty then biting an opponent for no apparent reason?
The thing is, Suarez is one of those psychopaths that would do some crazy stuff if he wasn't a footballer with millions and millions of money. Furthermore i can't actually believe ur sitting here defending his behaviour when it's quite clear he's not sane at all. How can you defend him? |

That's awful. If the ban is to start now he'll be back in November...

So, according to you, he should be sanctioned harder because he acts like a child? In your opinion, is it better to hit an elbow to the face because it's a "grown up" way to hurt your opponent?

He'll be missing the rest of worlds atleast. As for the 4 month ban, it will probably result in missing around 10 games, which was the same as his last ban.
