Nice on for Phinney.
José Toribio won 4th stage of the Volta a Portugal. Danail Petrov is the only rider of his team, Konya Sport. |

I know I am a bit partial in this case. But is not Tobias Ludvigsson (Skil - Shimano) 16 place overall in Vuelta Burgos fairly good of a trainee?
Yes it is. That's why Skil gave him a contract.
Well they gave him a contract before he ended 16th in the GC didn´t they?
Yes, they did. They already decided that after he impressed during a training camp. |

The Turkish riders began to fell outside time limit, mainly because of the Ramadan. The others I don't know. But he still aims winning a stage. (!) |

Gilbert brought Phinney back to the front of the pack in the ENECO tour.
Apart from that, 15km to go and all of it seems to be into a headwind. |

I wonder how close Bos would have been if Greipel didn't hinder him. Bos wanted to pass Greipel and just at that moment Greipel wanted to pass the man in front of him so Bos got boxed...
Oh well, new try tomorrow |

Well that was an "interesting" stage in the Eneco Tour. The complexity of the sprint got a bit of a shake up with the crash leading up to the finish. As far as Australian riders go it seems we had a bit of a shocker today, as mentioned final crash messed things up a bit. |

The usual Greipel poor positioning, but the gap opened up for him right at the end. With a wider road, Bos could have had a chance.

Greipel is indeed a poor positioner, but he has the strength to go a far way from behind. Was a great sprint by him. A HTC sprint train for him and he would win three times so many stages.
Bos was the only dangerous today I think, but his positioning was even wore. |

Guardini wins in Portugal. He just seemed twice as fast as the others were

Was about to add that. As long as the stage doesn't include even the slightest difficulty!

Tour l'Ain (2.1) - Prologue

1 Kelderman
2 Barta
3 Peraud
4 Coppel
Nice from Kelderman, last year 2nd in the prologue and 12th overal. Now he starts with a win.
And that with so many TDF frenchies and other outsiders (Taaramae) participating |

Don't get carried away because of that prologue victory, we (French) don't really have riders able to win prologues against a bunch of decent foreigners. We'll see how good he does in the G.C. though. |

Wow, it's really nice to see great progress of Jan Barta. He is becoming really useful rider, hopefully he will get a new contract from NetApp.
Will Keldermann ride for main team of Rabobank already next year?

Don't forget about (Tom) Dumoulin finishing 5th and Bovenhuis 7th. In total there were 5 Rabo Conti's in the first 20.
@ Roman Yes he will move to the Pro team next year together with Bol.

Yeah Coppel sure is crap at prologues ???
I'm not getting carried away by this. More likely I'm getting carried away by Keldermans overall results the past few seasons.
He's extremely talented. Not as much talented as Gesink or Mollema perhaps, but still very good nonetheless
Last year he was already 12th in this race at age 19. A very respectable position if you see the result:
2010
1. [ESP] ZUBELDIA AGIRRE Haimar RSH 13h44'32" 110
2. [NED] POELS Wout VAC 83
3. [FRA] MONCOUTIÉ David COF 05" 66
4. [USA] VAN GARDEREN Tejay THR 07" 58
5. [FRA] PINOT Thibaut FDJ 10" 50
6. [FRA] COPPEL Jérôme SAU 11" 44
7. [FRA] JEANDESBOZ Fabrice SAU 13" 38
8. [SUI] TSCHOPP Johann BTL 19" 33
9. [BEL] VAN AVERMAET Greg OLO 23" 29
10. [FRA] GALLOPIN Tony COF 31" 25
11. [FRA] BOUET Maxime ALM 37" 21
12. [NED] KELDERMAN Wilco RB3 38" 18
