It's mostly buildings, etc. that are damaged, there are little human casualties (still too many, don't get me wrong).
I'm more worried about Lybia and Ivory Coast. Khadafi is bombing his own people, hundreds if not thousands die every day, when Russia and China refuse any kind of reaction by NATO or UN because they've got oil/gas contracts, and are afraid that'd be a first and the same would happen to them within a couple of years/months.
And it's hardly better in Ivory Coast. They don't use planes to bomb their people, but that's about it. |

With all due respect, this so-called "humanitarian mission" that the US and NATO are pushing for in Libya is just an euphemism for an invasion to secure oil fields and institute a US-friendly neoliberal government.
As far as I know there are no reliable evidence that Gaddafi has been using bomber planes against his own people. (but please, disprove me) A couple of right-wing media sources first "reported" it, then it got spread around to other medias . Most likely it's just a part of the smear-campaign to soften up people to the idea of a "humanitarian mission". (and by the looks of it, it has been extremely successfull so far)
The thing is: Libya is sealed up like a jar of pickles, very few people have a clue as to what is really happening there. All we know is what a select few journalists of the major medias are reporting... and they are not exactly reliable.

I hate to sound like a defender of Gaddafi, and I realise that I probably sound unreasonable by saying this, but: sounds of a jetplane, vigorous camerashaking and a close up of a plane is quite easy to fake.
There was no footage of a plane dropping a bomb, no footage of a bomb exploding, nor any footage of a bomb crater.
The BBC are heavily under the influence of the UK pro-invasion government. They are not a trustable source in this matter. |

And how about Lybian pilots who fled to Malta because they refused to bomb their own people ? Part of the conspiracy too ? How about other pilots executed because they disobeyed (that was 2 or 3 weeks ago, when the bombing started).
You've got no footage of the bombings because there are no neutral helicopters or planes flying in Lybia. You've got to rely on journalists present there and on each side's (governmental and rebel) press releases to figure out what's going on there. And there's obviously bombing there, with numerous civilian casualties (according to red cross/croissant). |

According to the Russian military satellites, there was no sign of bombing in Libya one week ago.

Anyway, this is seriously fucked up for the Libyan people. I'm afraid that, whoever wins, they'll lose. |

I hate to come up with a bad argument, but when was the last time the Russian military or government was actually trustworthy?

Americans are saying that a military invasion is not excluded. Well are they going to invade Libya when they aren't done in Iraq.

Whilst the BBC may be influenced by the government on very rare occasions (most certainly not heavily, as you say. They generally are lent on for issues that would embarrass senior politicians, and even then, they often ignore such leanings), John Simpson (the reporter in that footage) most certainly isn't.

In Belgium ( the country that still hasn't a governement!!!) they are planning to lay new asfalt in all the holes in all the roads. Since the roads in Belgium are full of holes after each winter. They now want to do those works t the roads. They are planning to repair all roads and it will be done in September. So than we can drive around without having a concussion after each trip for 2 short months. Very clever plan.

Ah yes. In canada we have 3 seasons, Winter, ALmost-Winter and Construction. Construction is my favourite season because the temperature is so mediocre. Its great.
