Yeah I spotted that and it is indeed a quick drop in a couple of seasons, heard from some locals (one who raced for Drapac this season) that he just isn't putting in the work and it could be a motivation issue, I can understand that and maybe with the baby on the way and the limited calendar he had last season has changed what he wants out of cycling. Certainly is a talented rider and could do well back at this level, it worked out well for Tim Roe dropping back

It wouldn't surprise me. With not too many results after his promising U23 result years ago, he must hate living with the thought of what could have been. Dropping down a level almost certainly just made it worse.

But. after all, I think he did well as a helper at Orica, but does anyone here know if he accepted his role as helper or he wanted a leader role?

I expect that he just accepted it. There was no way that he thought that he would get opportunities given how few wins he has. He is a solid domestique at that level and does a lot of great work (didn't he lead to peloton for ages when Cadel won the wc?). I get the feeling that he knew his limitations.

Jack Bobridge returns to Australia with the Budget Forklifts team. David Tanner also leaving Lotto NL and Brown is rumoured too meaning Rabo/Belkin/Lotto would be without an Aussie, but a Kiwi instead.
Dennis van Winden another moving from Lotto NL to Baku Synergy while Jeste Bol to Cycling Team De Rijke

Bobridge Well, guess he couldn't really fullfill his potential, right? Nice addition for Budget though. Kinda coup like last year with Roe.

Matt Brammeier is looking pretty good for a move to PCT level, my bet would be as leadout at MTN. https://www.stickybottle.com/latest-ne...tal-level/
Alternatively, leading out Sam Bennett at Bora, which would be made of awesome.
Also, U23 TT World Champion of the hearts, Ryan Mullen re-signs with An Post for 2015.

You forgot their biggest news, marquee signing I guess, Aidan Kruopis joining Post. Quite surprised he couldn't find a PCT team for him.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? That's a big shock, could absolutely dominate .2 races if he finds his form again.

Kruopis is a great signing, he was great at Landbouwkrediet.
As for bobridge, while I'm surprised he couldn't find at least a PCT squad like Drapac, I'm not surprised he is dropping down the ranks. Isn't it rumoured that he has quite a serious alcohol problem?

Budget Forklits struck a deal with Aussie track performance hiring Bobridge and few other endurace track riders. While they will ride bit of road, for Bobridge the goal is gold at Rio.

Still I haven't heard many riders who'll go the Belkin. Do they even have 25 riders for next season or do they have to sign some more?
Btw: Probably missed it, but I thought that Betancur would leave AG2R, or will he stay at them?

Interesting, thanks. And I just remembered that it was the drunk driving incident that I was thinking of.

This signing was all about Rio 2016, I'm pretty sure Budget have the main 5 team persuit riders in the squad for the next 2 seasons. Looks like a smart move from both Budget and the Cycling Australia track management to make this happen.

Has anyone heard something about Alexnder Krieger for 2015?
The other two stagiares Konrad (Bora), Mühlberger (Gourmetfein) seem to have contracts but while I expected Krieger to get a contract at Bora as well, I can`t find anything.
Imo they should keep him as he is a very promising German talent and next to Bauhaus probably one of the best young German sprinters.
The combination of Bennett/Bauhaus though will already be great for a PCT team but Krieger as 3rd sprinter would be nice. In especially as Schorn is stagnating and not really improving. |

Muhlberger and Krieger both have pre contracts with Bora for 2016. It's kinda sponsorship contract, if they maintain decent results in 2015 and they have a place in 2016 team. Bora wanted to give them more time to develop before the big step up.
