Vuelta Ciclista a Mallorca - Stage 4
The final stage. It will be about the mountain jersey.
Do'nt underestimate this profile. The race will be hard, there are no flat meters here.
Well, what can I say? Today was about rounding off this stage race for me. I'm ready for Oman, I reckon!
Two mountain sprints fairly early in the race, that means attacking is the best defense of the jersey! When I went, I thought I saw something strange...
The peloton hesitated and it seemed I would be securing my jersey!
I stayed in front for longer than expected, and then Rodriguez took a risk. He would join me!
He joined me 4 km later and together we rode strongly, but now the peloton was chasing us hard!
And then it was all over. Risk taken, ready to accept responsibility...
Andy Schleck with a brilliant form. What's he peaking for, one might wonder!
We gambled and lost. At least I have a jersey out of it all! We did good.

A risk that would have changed the race a bit if it worked. But nice job anyway

baia - Right
PCM rulezz - That's true. And Rodriguez is someone who likes a risk now and then
SSJ2Luigi - Where did you get that idea? It's just a regular alien
Ollfardh - He sure did. Wonder what he's peaking for. If it's the Tour, Willy is already afraid
Nunekazz - Stats in spoiler!
sutty68 - Luckily it's still early in the season. Rodriguez will be ready when it matters, so it was a good training at least
Flair - Well, that's true!
Jakstar22 - Thanks! You can't win everything, right?

Tour of Oman - Stage 1
Welcome in Oman!
Not many sprinters started here. The fastest here are Sagan and Van Avermaet.
Last year, Anton was the strongest, with Willy in the top 3. This year, Stijn is the main leader for Team Argos - Shimano, looking for a stage win or two.
I'm not here necessarily for the general classification. The main thing is to build form for me!
However, I did help in the lead-out for Stijn!
At the intermediate sprint, I felt I wasn't really the fastest today. I would be counting on the lead-out for the stage today.
The boys set up an impressive train! With World Champion Time Trialing Gretsch in it!
There was an incredibly strong head wind at the finish, so I felt I left a bit early, maybe. Sprinting speed today was low, very low, because of that strong wind.
However, everyone was struggling with the wind, and I had a rough time resisting Van Avermaet trying to overtake me!
But I (barely) made it to the line! I withheld my lead and took the first stage here! Amazing work by the lead-out today! My second this year!
Great day. It was so close. If this Van Avermaet gets in shape for the Belgium National Championship, it'll be extremely hard prolonging this jersey!

Tour of Oman - Stage 2
Today is all about defending the leader's jersey!
A sprinter's stage, but not very flat. A puncher might get away with the win.
Tom Slagter thought he was strong enough to elude the mass sprint today!
It was a brave attempt and for a while it seemed to be working, but before the sprint, he got caught. You can see me on the picture, wheelsucking Sagan for the sprint! If it's uphill, I might as well give it a shot.
But I couldn't bring up enough speed and finished 13th. Sprinting is not my thing.
I put two guys to work today to control a small breakaway. I was nervous about the sprint because Sagan and Van Avermaet are both in excellent shape and both are notorious uphill sprinters.
Turns out my fear was totally justifiable. I finish third behind the two wonder sprinters. However, I hope to get payback in the cobbled season!
I lost the jersey, but all in all I'm doing fine here. My form is coming along nicely and I'm really, really curious about the opening weekend next week! But maybe I can get one more stage win here in Oman!
